  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of coadministration and 3 days-pretreatmemt of niledipine (2, 10 mg/kg) on the pharmacokinetic parameters and bioavailability of paclitaxel (50 mg/kg) after oral administration in rats. Coadministration of nifedipine with paclitaxel did alter the $C_{max}$ (115${\pm}$29 ng/ml without nifedipine; 135${\pm}$35 ng/ml with nifedipine (10 mg/kg): p<0.05) and AUC (188${\pm}$459 ng/mlㆍhr with-out nifedipine; 2546${\pm}$642 ng/mlㆍhr with nifedipine; p<0.05). Three days treatment of nifedipine on the prior to paclitaxel administration increased the $t_{1/2}$ 〔9.90${\pm}$2.47 hr without nifedipine; 12.37${\pm}$3.12 hr with nifedipine (2 mg/kg): 12.83${\pm}$3.32 hr with nifedipine (10 mg/ml); p<0.05] and AUC [1833${\pm}$459 ng/mlㆍhr without nifedipine; 2663${\pm}$648 ng/mlㆍhr with nifedipine (2 mg/kg): 3006${\pm}$734 ng/mlㆍhr with nifedipine (10 mg/ml): p <0.05]. Drug interaction between nifedipine and paclitaxel decreased the elimination rate constant and increased the oral bioavailability of paclitaxel. On the basis of the results of this study, it might be considered that nifedip ine may inhibit cytochrome P450, which are engaged in paclitaxel metabolism, result in increased $t_{1/2}$ and AUC of paclitaxel. However, further study should be conducted to clarify the roles of cytochrome P450 and P-glycoprotein on paclitaxel bio-availability wit/or without nifedipine.

  • The purpose of the study is to inquire how the family environmental variables are to influence on the behavior, time of laundering and laundering facilities in the urban households. Independent variables are limited to the number of family members, the are of the youngest child, the age of the home maker, and her educational level, family income , and the type of housing in which the family lives. The total of 222 samples were thus selected. The data was analyzed on the basis of statistical method such as percentage, mean ,standard deviation, chi-square, and F-test. The major findings are as follows; 1) Hypothesis 1 is rejected, because the behavior of laundering management is not influenced by six family environmental variables. 2) The facilities for laundering management are affected by the home maker's age(p<.05), her educational level(p<.001), family income (p<.001), the housing of the family (p<.01) among six family environmental variables ; there fore, Hypothesis 2 is partially proved; 3) the time for laundering management is affected by the number of family members(p<.01), the age of the youngest child(p<.05), the home maker's educational level(p<.001) among six family environmental variables; therefore, Hypothesis 3 is partially proved.

  • Purpose: Adolescents are vulnerable to depression; however, many health policies for adolescents tend to target students in schools. This study aims to identify factors related to depression according to gender among adolescents who have ceased attending school either temporarily or permanently. Methods: The data were generated from the 5th Dropout Youth Panel Survey (2017), and this study included 318 students in the survey that had dropped out of school. The data were analyzed using hierarchical multiple linear regression to identify related factors in depression among the participants. The analyses were performed by SPSS 25.0 program. Results: The depression scores of the students who had ceased attending school were: 20.28±5.47 for boys; 21.23±5.88 for girls. Their depression scores are significantly associated with self-esteem (p<.001 for boys; p=.001 for girls) and social stigma (p=.002 for boys; p=.002 for girls). Among those, peer attachment (p=.050), community integration (p=.004), and community disorder (p<.001) were significantly associated with depression only in boys. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that strategies for managing depression in adolescents who have dropped out of school should address the differences in contributing factors according to gender. This study also suggests a basis for approaching such a strategy.

  • In this paper, an algorithm for recovering the 3-D shape from a single shaded image is proposed. In the proposed algorithm, by using the relation between the height and surface gradient (p, q), a set of linear equations is derived from the linearized reflectance function. Then the 3-D surface is recovered by employing the conjugate gradient technique. In order to improve the convergence speed of the solution, we also employ the hierarchical basis function and multiresolution images in the algorithm. A method for determining the regularization parameter, which is determined by trial and error in the conventional approach, is also introduced. In addition, the proposed algorithm attempts to recover the 3-D surface without requiring the boundary conditions, making it suitable for a real-time implementation. Simulation results for real image as well as synthetic image are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • The stationary point structures and relative energies between them as well as binding energies of $(CO)_2$ have been investigated at the CCSD(T) level using the correlation-consistent basis sets aug-cc-pVXZ(X=T,Q,5). It is found that while the equilibrium structure corresponds to the C-bonded T-shaped configuration with intermolecular distance of 4.4 $\AA$, there exists another minimum, slightly higher in energy ($\sim$10 $cm^{-1}$) than the global minimum, corresponding to the O-bonded T-shaped configuration with the intermolecular distance of 3.9 $\AA$. The CCSD(T) basis set limit binding energy of $(CO)_2$ is estimated to be 132 $cm^{-1}$.

  • It is well known that the finite element analysis often has an inaccuracy when it is in conflict with test results. Model updating is concerned with the correction of analytical model by processing records of response from test results. The famous one of the model updating methods is FRF sensitivity method. However, it has demerit that the solution is not unique. So, the neural network is recommended when an unique and exact solution is desired. The generalization ability of radial basis function neural network is used in model updating. As an application model, a cantilever and a rotor system are used. Specially the machined clearance($C_p$) of a journal bearing is updated.

  • This paper attempts to provide a theoretical basis for the design of high-strength concrete columns in terms of the spacing of lateral reinforcement. In order to achieve this, important concepts had to be addressed such as the choice of a measure of ductile behaviour and a realistic high-strength concrete stress-strain model, as well as limiting factors such as longitudinal steel buckling and lateral steel fracture. A design method incorporating above factors are suggested in the paper. It is shown that both buckling of longitudinal steel and hoop fracture will not demand a reduction in spacing of lateral ties with increase in compressive strength of concrete.
