The copolymerization characteristics of a newly-synthesized catalyst, $rac-Me_2Si(2-p-tolylindenyl)_2ZrCl_2$, and its analogue, $rac-Me_2Si(Ind)_2ZrCl_2$, were examined in the ethylene/1-octene copolymerization while varying the concentration of 1-octene in the reaction mixture. The activity of $rac-Me_2Si(2-p-tolylindenyl)_2ZrCl_2$ catalyst was decreased with increase of comonomer concentration, which is different from the usual comonomer effect of the metallocene catalysts with a bridge structure. The contents of 1-octene in the copolymer from the catalyst with 2-p-tolyl substituent were higher than those from the catalyst without that substituent. The melting point, crystallinity, and molecular weight decreased with comonomer content which was more apparent for $rac-Me_2Si(2-p-tolylindenyl)_2ZrCl_2$ catalyst.
Recently Al-Cu-P alloys are used to refine primary Si of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys. Because it has inside AlP compound that acts as nucleation site in the melt, Al-Cu-P alloy has good refinement effect in lower holding temperature and after shoter holding times. In this study Al-Cu-P refinement agent was made by mechanical alloying method. When Al-13.5wt%Cu-1.5wt%P was alloyed mechanically for 30hr in Ar atmosphere by high energy ball mill, it had the refinement effect that showed primary Si size of about $30{\mu}m$ in Al-20wt%Si at $760^{\circ}C$, treated for 15min.

Loss factors of A356, Mn-Cu alloy and aluminum matrix composites reinforced with $SiC_p$ and Ni-coated graphite particles at various contents have been investigated using clamped-free cantilever beam method. The loss factors of half-power bandwidth of the specimens were measured over a wide range of frequencies from 50 to 3300Hz. Among the specimens, Al-10%$SiC_p$-10%$C_p$ showed the highest loss factor at the mode I, while Mn-Cu alloy showed the highest loss factors at the modes II and III. Consequently, at the mode I the Al-10%$SiC_p$--10%$C_p$ showed the loss factor of 0.00093, which is 2.64 and 1.58 times higher than those of A356 and Mn-Cu alloy, respectively.
Porous hybrid preforms were fabricated by reactive sintering using the compacts consisting of SiC particles, Fe and Al powders. Squeeze casting processing was employed to produce the composite in which the matrix phase is Al-Si7Mg. The microstructural change and wear resistance of the composites were investigated in terms of an amount of SiC particles. The wear loss was increased with increasing the contact pressure in the alloy containing SiC particles coated with Cu. The most drastic change was found to the specimen tested at 2.5 MPa of contact pressure. Concerning the alloys containing SiC particles coated with Ni-P, a drastic increase in the wear loss exhibited at 2 MPa of contact pressure in those alloys containing 4 and 8 wt. % of SiC particles coated with Ni-P. In the alloy containing 16 wt. % a proportional increase in wear loss was observed to the change of contact pressure. With respecting to the sliding velocity, the wear loss of the alloy containing SiC particles coated with Cu increased at the initial stage of wear process and then decreased. Similar result was found in the alloys containing SiC particles coated with Ni-P. On the basis of the present results obtained, it was found that wear resistance of the alloys tested was improved to show in the order of the alloy reinforced by coated SiC particles > by uncoated SiC particles > by intermetallic compound without SiC particles.
The relation between yield or total dry matter yield and nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium or silica uptake was investigated according to simple or multiple correlation coefficients, and multiple regression equations. 1. Simple correlation coefficient was always higher with total dry matter yield than with grain yield and highest with N in no nitrogen (0-6-8) or no fertilizer (0-0-0) plot, with P in no phosphorus plot (10-0-8) but lowest with K in no potassium plot (10-6-0). 2. Multiple correlation coefficient was always higher than simple correlation and the same is true with including Si as one more variation. There was clear trend that multiple correlation coefficient was highest in no fertilizer plot and lowest in no potassium plot. 3. Simple correlation coefficient with P was higher in the warm year in which P uptake and fertilizer-P use efficiency were higher while it with K was higher in the cool year in which K uptake and fertilizer-K use efficiency were higher. Nitrogen and silicate followed potassiuum. But partial regression coefficients of N. P. K and Si with yield were mostly significant only in the warm year. 4. Partial regression coefficient of K was negative in many cases with yield but significant positive value with total dry matter yield. 5. Partial regression coefficients of N. P and K were decreased when Si was included and the decrease was great in P. 6. With the increase of nitrogen fertilizer level partial regression coefficient was increased in N but decreased in P, and no consistency in K or Si. 7. According to single or multiple correlation coefficients and partial regression coefficients the contribution of nutrient to grain yield appears to be in the order of N > Si > P > K and to total dry matter yield in the order of N > K > Si > P, indicating that N is the main factor and others are closely related to each other throughout to N. The superiority of N was also proved by frequency pattern of relative yield.
A lean alloy is defined as a low alloy steel with a minimum amount of the alloying element that maintains the characteristics of the sintered alloy. It is well known that the addition of elements such as Cr, P, Si, or Mn improves the mechanical characteristics of the alloy, but decreases the sinterability. The mother alloy is used to avoid an oxidation reaction with the alloying elements of Cr, P, Si or Mn. The purpose of this study is to determine the change in the mechanical properties of Fe-P-Mo and Fe-P-Mn alloys as a result of the addition of Si. In this article, the Fe-P-Mo and Fe-P-Mn alloys to which Si is added are compacted at $7.0g/cm^3$ and then sintered in $H_2-N_2$ at $1120^{\circ}C$. The P around the macropores and large grains reduces due to the formation of $SiO_2$ as the Si content increases. This is caused by the increase in strength owing to reducing intergranular fracture by suppressing the reaction with oxygen.
The stirred and thixoformed $SiC_p/AZ91HP$ Mg composites are studied on the basis of microstructural analysis using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The products of interfacial reaction are identified as $Mg_2Si$, MgO and $Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ phases and the crystallized phases are found to be orthorhmbic $Al_6Mn$ and decagonal T phases. It is shown that $Mg_2Si$ and $Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ phases are found at the surface of $SiC_p$ and $Al_6Mn$ is found near interface and crystallized on the matrix. Phase identification is carried out by crystallographic work based on primitive cell volume, zero order Laue zone (ZOLZ) patterns and single convergent beam electron diffraction (CBED) patterns containing higher order Laue zone ring from a nanosized region.

In this paper, temperature dependence of effective ionization coefficient in Si is formulated as a single polynomial function of temperature, which allows analytical expressions for breakdown voltage of Si $p^+n$ junction as a function of temperature. The analytical breakdown voltages agree well with the simulation as well as the experimental ones reported within $3\%$ in error for the doping concentrations in the range of $10^{14}cm^{-3}{\~} 10^{17}cm^{-3}$ at 100K, 300K and 500K.
Contact resistance and contact leakage current of the $Al/TiSi_2/Si$ system are investigated for $N^+\;and\;P^+$ junctions. Titanium disilicide is one of the most common silicides because of its thermal stability, ability, to form selective formation and low resistivity. In this paper, the effect of RTA temperature and Junction implant dose are characterized. The $TiSi_2$ contact resistance to $N^+$ silicon is lower than that of Al to $N^+$ silicon, but $TiSi_2$ of contact resistance to $P^+$ silicon is higher than that of Al to $P^+$ silicon. The $TiSi_2$ of contact leakage current to $N^+\;and\;P^+$ silicon is similar to that of Al contact.
In order to elucidate the extrusion characteristics of $SiC_{p}$/6061 Al composite, defomation resistance, $K_{w}$ was determined using the empirical formula suggested by Watanabe et al, and also extrusion pressure was measured using the extrusion press with a capacity of 350 ton. The $K_{w}$ which are propotional to extrudability, was increased with increasing volume fraction of reinforcement, $SiC_{p}$, but decreased with increasing the particle size. The peaks of maximum extrusion pressure in curves of extrusion force vs ram stroke were changed sharply with decreasing the particle size. The elevated extrustion temperature resulted in the decreased $K_{w}$ and extrusion pressure, but caused the surface tearing of extrusion composite bars. The results showed that extrudability of the composite billets is depend on the extrusion conditions as well as the characteristics of reinforcement, $SiC_{p}$.
