The Mediating Effect of Narcissism on the Relationship between Paternal.Maternal Psychological Control, Over-Expectation, and Adolescent Aggression (부.모의 심리적 통제 및 과잉기대가 청소년의 공격성에 미치는 영향: 자기애의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The major purpose of this study was to explore mediating effects of narcissism on the relationship between paternal maternal psychological control, over-expectation, and adolescent aggression. This study's participants were 678 boys and girls selected from second and third graders at middle schools in Busan. The major findings were as follows. First, there were gender differences in paternal psychological control, fathers' over-expectation, mothers' over-expectation, and adolescents' overt aggression. Second, boys' overt aggression indirectly affected fathers' psychological control and mothers' over-expectation through boys' narcissism. Third, girls' relational aggression indirectly affected fathers' psychological control and mothers' over-expectation through girls' narcissism and directly affected fathers' psychological control. Finally, girls' overt relational aggression indirectly affected fathers' and mothers' over-expectation through girls' narcissism.

The Relationship among Parenting Behaviors, Children's Perfectionism and Achievement Motivation (부모의 양육행동, 남녀 아동의 완벽주의 및 성취동기간의 관계)

  • This study examined the relationship among parenting behaviors, children's perfectionism and achievement motivation, using a sample of 338 fifth and sixth graders. The participants completed questionnaires on parenting behaviors and their perfectionism and achievement motivation. Data were analyzed by factor analyses and multiple regression analysis. Both boys and girls had higher achievement motivation when they perceived higher parental levels of acceptance, and girls showed higher achievement motivation when they perceived higher maternal control/over-expectation. Boys who exhibited self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism and girls who exhibited self-oriented perfectionism showed higher achievement motivation. Boys had higher self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism when perceiving higher parental acceptance and control/over-expectation. Girls showed higher self-oriented perfectionism when perceiving higher parental acceptance and control/over-expectation, and they showed higher socially prescribed perfectionism when perceiving higher paternal control/over-expectation and maternal acceptance and control/over-expectation. It was revealed that both boys' and girls' perfectionism tended to play mediating roles between parenting behaviors and achievement motivation.

A Study on the Customers' Expectation & Satisfaction for Food and Service Quality in Restaurants (외식업체에서 제공되는 음식 및 서비스 품질에 대한 고객의 기대도와 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to select food offered with higher frequency at restaurants such as hamburger, pizza, chicken, gimbap(boiled rice rolled in laver with seasonings stuffed), and calgooksu(Korean traditional noodles); identify customers' expectation and satisfaction levels on food and service quality and analyze correlation according to each food. The survey was conducted from March 1 to March 24, 2000, by distributing questionnaires. Statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS for t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1) It is revealed that overall average satisfaction levels on food quality according to individuals' trait came out significantly low compared to their expectation levels, and that balance in nutrition and reasonable prices had problems in relation to food quality. 2) Customers' expectation levels on food quality came out the highest with calgooksu and gimbap, and their satisfaction levels came out the highest with pizza. 3) Customers' overall average expectation levels on service quality showed a very high point, while their satisfaction levels showed a low point with significance. 4) Hamburger was poor in hygiene; pizza showed the highest satisfaction levels over its quality with significance, and calgooksu and gimbap showed very low satisfaction levels over their service quality. 5) Correlation between customers' expectation and satisfaction levels over the nutritional balance and proper taste of the food quality came out significant. 6) Pizza and chicken showed significant correlation with regard to atmosphere, service, and hygiene variables (p<0.01).

A Study on the Effect of Individual's Proportionate Equality Acceptance Level on the Entrepreneurial Intention via the Upward Mobility Expectation (개인의 비례적 평등 수용수준이 계층상승기대감을 매개로 창업의지에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구)

  • It is very meaningful to research on how people's perception on equality and psychology on class movement can have effect on the entrepreneurial intention at the present time when the Korean Government persuades people to create new businesses and the polarization between the rich and the poor gets severe. Accordingly, in this study, an empirical analysis was conducted to find out how the proportional equality acceptance level can affect the entrepreneurial intention via the upward mobility expectation by considering the proportionate equality acceptance level as independent variable, upward mobility expectation as a medium variable and the entrepreneurial intention as a dependent variable and then the hypothesis was tested through regression analysis. The results are as follows. First, it was found that the proportional equality acceptance level over the results makes a positive (+) effect on the entrepreneurial intention and the upward mobility expectation. On the other hand, it was found that proportional equality acceptance level over opportunity does not make any significant effect on each of entrepreneurial intention and upward mobility expectation. Second, it was found that the upward mobility expectation makes the positive (+) effect on the entrepreneurial intention. Third, it was found that the proportional equality acceptance level over opportunity and equality acceptance level over the results makes a positive (+) effect on the entrepreneurial intention through upward mobility expectation as a medium, thus showing the partial effect. This study has critical implications as it is an empirical analysis for finding out how the individual's level of perceiving equality makes an effect on entrepreneurial intention and testing the upward mobility expectation's mediating effect, thus reflecting the current society's situation.

Analysis of Customer Expectation and Satisfaction for New Menus in Multi-Chain Family Restaurants (패밀리 레스토랑 신메뉴에 대한 고객의 기대도와 만족도 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to understand customers' expectations and satisfaction on menus in family restaurants, 2) to compare customer satisfaction and brand image for positioning new menus, and 3) to analyze customer satisfaction and loyalty to each menu. From May 8th to 28th, 2004, a total of 3,594 membership customers responded to the email survey. Statistical analyses such as t-test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation were performed using SPSS 12.0. The results of this study consist of four major parts: general findings, customer expectation analysis, new menu positioning and customer satisfaction analysis. The customer expectation analysis discovered that taste was the most expected attribute in menus of family restaurants, followed by quantity, appearance and price. Statistically different expectations existed among different customer groups categorized by their general characteristics including demographics. Also, high correlations existed among the expectations over all the attributes: food quality, shape, quantity and price of food. Over all the attributes, customer expectation was higher than customer satisfaction. Thus, a discrepancy existed between expectation and satisfaction. Positioning of new menus was determined by brand image and customer satisfaction. Lastly, the customer satisfaction analysis revealed that customers in different gender and age have different satisfaction. In addition, high correlation existed between satisfaction and loyalty on new menus of a family restaurant. In consequence, the research findings suggest managers should understand customer expectation and satisfaction and reposition their menus regularly by menu engineering.

A Expectation of Over Middle Aged People about Dietary Living during Their Elderly Life (노년기 식생활에 대한 중.장년 층의 가치관)

  • The survey was conducted by using questionnaires in order to investigate the expectation of over middle aged people on dietary living during their elderly life. Many persons(41.9%) anticipate that some kind of change will happen in dietary living during their elderly life. They are willing to prepare their own meals by themselves (73.5% of male and 86.6% of female). It is expected that they prefer various kinds of foods, korean traditional foods, home-made foods, natural food to processed food, and nutritionally balanced foods. The balance of nutrition and easiness of digestion should be primarily considered as a base of food choice, and then taste or convenience. The result of this study indicates that korean traditional food culture can not be easily changed. If food industries had a plan to produce some items for future silver generation, they should make efforts to develop processed foods considered the nutrition and digestibility, natural foods packed conveniently for home-cooking, and food preparation equipment used easily by elderly people.

  • In this paper, we analyzed audience satisfaction procedures in performing art, specifically in musical, in terms of Expectation Disconfirmation Theory. We analyzed one's expectations and outcomes over time; we first classified audience expectations and outcomes about environmental elements as 'the first expectation'/'the first outcome' and about watching situation & content itself as 'the second expectation'/'the second outcome', then analyzed by comparing those two. Through surveying and analyzing the result, this paper serves that the ultimate fact which affects on the final audience satisfaction is 'the second outcome', which is the outcome about watching situation & content itself. This paper also shows that audience expectation toward physical quality of environment affects to 'the second expectation', then 'the second expectation' affects to 'the second outcome', so then affects to the final satisfaction. However, 'the first outcome' doesn't affect to 'the second expectation'; in other words, the physical environment does not affect much to the audience final satisfaction. We expect that our study provides clues for venue management in performing arts.

Influence of the Education Service Quality and Result Expectations on Behavioral Intention: Focus on the TOEIC Business of a Global Company (교육서비스 품질과 교육성과의 기대일치여부가 행동의도에 미치는 영향: 글로벌기업의 TOEIC사업을 중심으로)

  • Purpose - The TOEIC test has been leading the change in the quality and the globalization of companies for about last 30 years. The TOEIC test is taken by about two million people each year and is used as a criterion to select new employees in companies or government offices, for performance ratings, and for overseas posting selections. Universities also use TOEIC test in various ways. Since the TOEIC test is used for the selection of new students for admission, transferring extra credits, scholarships, graduation certification, and admission of international students studying abroad, many universities all over the country provide students with TOEIC study lectures through their own language institutes. Despite the fact, there has been no research on the service quality or even the current situation of these institutes. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the factors that impact TOEIC lecture service quality and analyzes the effect of the expectation related to the education service quality and the result of education on intentional behavior. Research design, data, methodology - Data was collected by administering a survey to current TOEIC students from different university language institutes. The survey questionnaire comprised of a five-point Likert scale. The demographic analysis was conducted using the frequency analysis method and the factor analysis was conducted to verify the validity of questionnaire over any variable. The reliability analysis was conducted to verify the reliability of the results. Besides, multiple regression analysis, regression analysis, and mediated effect verification were also conducted. For education service quality, four different independent variables such as reliability, response, conviction, and sympathy were considered using the SERVQUAL survey model. Based on the research models, the study hypotheses below were formulated in order to recognize an effect relationship between the variables. The four hypotheses are, "the hypothesis on education service quality and TOEIC study result expectation," "the hypothesis on education service quality and behavioral intention," "the hypothesis on study result expectation and behavioral intention," and "the hypothesis on study result expectation and mediated effect." Results - The results are as follows. First, the factors like response, conviction, and sympathy have a positive influence on TOEIC study result expectations. Second, the TOEIC study result expectation has a positive influence on the factors of behavioral intention such as re-sign up, positive word-of-mouth, "loyalty towards school." Third, it was verified that the mediated effect on behavioral intention was influenced by education service quality at university foreign language institute, while the study result expectation has only a partial mediated effect. Conclusions - The implications of this study are summarized as follows: First, it suggests a new research model for the effect of the expectation related to the education service quality and the result of education in the university language institutes on the behavioral intention. Second, it has established a relationship between the education service quality and study result expectation by verifying the mediated effect on them.

  • Purpose: This study examines how police's level of satisfaction over work environment influences on introduction of municipal police system and the purpose of this study is to examine the individual police's opinion by exploring the work satisfaction of police under current centralized police system and their level of expectation toward introduction of municipal police system. Method: To complete the research, this study used the survey data from in-service police and analyzed it based on regression analysis. Result: This study analyzed the influence of police's job satisfaction on expectation over introduction of municipal police system by dividing the police's job satisfaction into internal and external satisfaction. In the influence of police's job satisfaction on expectation toward physical environmental change, both internal and external satisfaction had significant negative influence. Conclusion: Thus, there should be a clear organization on municipal police and related items before introducing the system to gain trust from police.
