외부가압 원추형 공기베어링의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of an Externally Pressurized Conical Gas Bearing)

  • The performance of the ultra-precision machine tools depends on the steady state characteristics of the main spindle bearings. For excluding the effect of machining error with perpendicularity, conical or spherical bearing has been used. In this paper, steady analysis of the externally pressurized conical gas bearing for ultraprecision is carried out based on the direct numerical method with assumption of point source. As a result of theoretical analysis, design parameters for optimal condition of conical gas bearing are' presented in dimensionless form.

  • For excluding the effect of machining error such as perpendicularity, conical and spherical bearing has been used. In this paper, dynamic characteristics of the externally pressurized conical gas bearing for untraprecision main spindle is carried out based on the direct numerical method with assumption of point source. As a result of theoretical analysis, it is verified that coupled stiffness and damping exist and new design parameters for optimal condition of conical gas bearing are presented in dimensionless form.

  • In this study. the fatigue lives of two kinds of specimens made by $CO^2$ gas weld were assessed. The materials for two kinds of specimens were taken out of the virgin carbon steel tubes and the used carbon steel tubes respectively. As a result, it was found that the fatigue lives of two groups of specimens were in the same order of magnitude.

  • Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) is one of the most effective method in design of golf clubs for determination of optimum shapes in short lead time. A new design of golf club drive with gas-filled titanium head has been carried out using two FEM softwares MARC and DYNA-3D. The main research work focuses on the decision of face thickness and the effect of filled gas pressure by analyzing the change of the kinematic energy of the ball during impact.

  • Current common rail engines are equipped with cooled EGR systems by using an engine cooling water system. In this study, investigations of exhaust gas reduction characteristics have been carried out in the common rail engine system depending on the EGR rate variation. The experimental results shows that NOx reduces and smoke increases as the EGR rate increases.

  • In the CNC gas cutting of steel plate, the cutting quality are strongly dependent on the various cutting conditions. The cutting tests of high tensile steel plate(AH36) were carried out using CNC gas cutting machine at various cutting conditions such as cutting speed, steel plate thickness, distance between tip and specimen etc. The kerf width and the surface roughness of cutting surfaces are examined. The photographs of cutting surface and cutting section are also analyzed.

  • There has been an increasing demand over the years for steels with lower[s] content. For the purpose of improving the efficiency of desulphrization in the powder injection process of ladle, experimental studies were carried out by using cold model to optimize the lance configuration, gas flow rate, immersion depth of lance nozzle, position of lance nozzle relative to the ladle and the effect with slag, etc. As the results of this study, it was made clear that 2-hole nozzle lance (C, E type) placed in an asymmetric position gives the shortest mixing times.

Effect of Swirling Flow by Normal Injection of Secondary Air on the Gas Residence Time and Mixing Characteristics in a Lab-Scale Cold Model Combustor

  • The present study investigates gas residence time and mixing characteristics for various swirl numbers generated by injection of secondary air into a lab-scale cylindrical combustor. Fine dust particles and butane gas were injected into the test chamber to study the gas residence time and mixing characteristics, respectively. The mixing characteristics were evaluated by standard deviation value of trace gas concentration at different measurement points. The measurement points were located 25 mm above the secondary air injection position. The trace gas concentration was detected by a gas analyzer. The gas residence time was estimated by measuring the temporal pressure difference across a filter media where the particles were captured. The swirl number of 20 for secondary air injection angle of 5$^{\circ}$ gave the best condition: long gas residence time and good mixing performance. Numerical calculations were also carried out to study the physical meanings of the experimental results, which showed good agreement with numerical results.

가스하이드레이트 산업시스템 실용화 현황 및 동향 분석 (Investigation on the Practical Use of Gas Hydrate in Gas Industry)

  • In Japan, research and development were undertaken on gas hydrate-side industrial processes associated with power generation system connections that may particularly be necessary to develop gas hydrated technology-based industrial systems. In so doing, data and engineering technologies useful n formulating guidelines on design of practical process were accumulated. In addition, basic research into theoretical evidence were carried out to promote and support the development of technological elements for those processes. In basic research designed to promote and support the research and development of elemental technologies, microanalyses were conducted to understand the decomposition mechanism of mixed gas hydrate. Moreover, measurement technologies that can be applied in industrial processes, such as numerical analyses and concentration measurement, were examined. Japan has developed a highly efficient gas hydrate formation process using micro-bubbles with a tubular reactor. Higher formation rate over conventional systems has been obtained by the process. As mentioned above, the technical problems were clarified and the economics were studied from a view point of the NGH technology in this study. The results can be applied for utilization and must contribute to popularization of gas hydrate production.

Modeling of hollow formation and its dynamics in liquid gas assisted injection molding process

  • Application of gas assisted injection molding has been expanded during last two decades because of many advantages such as design flexibility, dimensional stability, reduction of machine tonnages, and so on. However, the surface defects including hesitation mark and gloss difference are observed for thick parts. Difficulties in lay-out of the gas channel and processing condition are another disadvantages. Liquid gas assisted injection molding(LGAIM), in which a liquid with a boiling point lower than the temperature of the polymer melt is injected into the melt stream, and travels with the melt into the mold where it vaporizes and pushes the melt downstream and against the cavity walls to create hollow channels within the part, is a good alternative of the conventional gas assisted injection molding especially in manufacturing simple and very thick parts. Though this is a new frontier of the innovation in the injection molding industry, there is no guideline for the design and processing conditions. In this paper, theoretical analysis has been made to describe the hollow formation dynamics in LGAIM. This model provides an insight into LGAIM process: explains why LGAIM has advantages over conventional gas assisted injection molding, and gives a guideline for the design and processing conditions.
