  • 1970년 말까지 보고된 U-238, Np-237 및 Th-232의 고속중성자에 대한 핵분열단 면적 및 그 실험오차를 조사 분석하여 최소자숭직교다항식적합법에 의하여 단면적의 최적치와 95%신뢰도에 대응하는 오차범위를 계산하고 이 결과를 사용하여 분열스펙트럼에 대한 평균단면적치를 추정하였다.

Krawtchouk Polynomial Approximation for Binomial Convolutions

  • We propose an accurate approximation method via discrete Krawtchouk orthogonal polynomials to the distribution of a sum of independent but non-identically distributed binomial random variables. This approximation is a weighted binomial distribution with no need for continuity correction unlike commonly used density approximation methods such as saddlepoint, Gram-Charlier A type(GC), and Gaussian approximation methods. The accuracy obtained from the proposed approximation is compared with saddlepoint approximations applied by Eisinga et al. [4], which are the most accurate method among higher order asymptotic approximation methods. The numerical results show that the proposed approximation in general provide more accurate estimates over the entire range for the target probability mass function including the right-tail probabilities. In addition, the method is mathematically tractable and computationally easy to program.

  • Recently, miniaturization and weight reduction is getting more attention due to various benefits in automotive components design. It is a trend that the design of experiment(DOE) and statical design method are frequently used for optimization. In this research, the safety of lower control arm is evaluated according to its material change form S45C to A16061 for the reduction of arm's weight. The variance analysis on the basis of structure analysis and DOE is applied to the lower control m. We have proposed a statistical design model to evaluate the effect of structural modification by performing the practical multi-objective optimization considering mass, stress and deflection.

  • It is difficult to have the existing structural optimization using coupled field analysis from CFD to structure analysis when the structure is influenced of fluid. Therefore in an initial model of this study after doing parameter design from the background of shape using topology optimization. and it is making a approximation formula using by the CFD-structure coupled-field analysis and design of experiment. By using this result, we conducted multi-objective optimization. We could confirm efficiency of stochastic method applicable in the scene of structure reliability design to be needed multi-objective optimization. And we presented a way of design that could overcome the time and space restriction in structural design such as the butterfly valve with the less experiment.

Identification of prestress force in a prestressed Timoshenko beam

  • This paper presents a new identification approach to prestress force. Firstly, a bridge deck is modeled as a prestressed Timoshenko beam. The time domain responses of the beam under sinusoidal excitation are studied based on modal superposition. The prestress force is then identified in the time domain by a system identification approach incorporating with the regularization of the solution. The orthogonal polynomial function is used to improve the noise effect and obtain the derivatives of modal responses of the bridge. Good identification results are obtained from only the first few measured modal data under both sinusoidal and impulsive excitations. It is shown that the proposed method is insensitive to the magnitude of force to be identified and can be successfully applied to indirectly identify the prestress force as well as other physical parameters, such as the flexural rigidity and shearing rigidity of a beam even under noisy environment.

  • This paper is devoted to the study and investigation of the Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin method for a system of differential equations consisting of two hyperbolic conservation laws. The numerical coupling flux which is used at a given interface (x = 0) is the upwind flux. Moreover, in the linear case, we derive optimal convergence rates in the $L_2$-norm, showing an error estimate of order ${\mathcal{O}}(h^{k+1})$ in domains where the exact solution is smooth; here h is the mesh width and k is the degree of the (orthogonal Legendre) polynomial functions spanning the finite element subspace. The underlying temporal discretization scheme in time is the third-order total variation diminishing Runge-Kutta scheme. We justify the advantages of the Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin method in a series of numerical examples.

  • We consider a closed subspace ${\tilde{A}}^{{\alpha},m}_q$ (ℂ) of the Fock space Aα,mq (ℂ) of q-analytic functions with the weight ϕ(z) = -α log |z|2+|z|2m for any positive integer m. We obtain the corresponding reproducing kernel Kα,q,m(z, w) using the weighted Laguerre polynomials and the Mittag-Leffler functions. Finally, we investigate the necessary and sufficient condition on (α, q, m) such that Kα,q,m(z, w) is zero-free.

시변 주파수 선택적 채널에서 OFDM시스템을 위한 Curve-Fitting 채널추정 방법 (A Curve-Fitting Channel Estimation Method for OFDM System in a Time-Varying Frequency-Selective Channel)

  • 본 논문에서는 시변 주파수 선택적 페이딩 채널에서 OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) 시스템을 위한 curve-fitting 채널추정 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 시간영역 및 주파수영역에서 1차원 curve-fitting을 통하여 smoothing과 interpolation을 순차적으로 수행함으로써 채널추정 정확도를 크게 개선할 수 있다. 먼저, 파일럿 심벌들을 사용하여 LS(least-Square) 추정치를 구하고, 이를 바탕으로 파일럿 밀도가 상대적으로 높은 영역을 선택하여 최소자승오차 기준에 따라 적절한 차수의 다항식으로 1차원 curve-fitting을 수행한다. 다음으로, 이 다항식을 이용하여 주어진 범위 내에 존재하는 LS 추정치들을 smoothing하고, interpolation 또는 prediction을 통하여 데이터 전송을 위하여 필요한 채널추정치들을 구한다. 이어서, 선택된 영역에서 얻어진 채널추정치들을 나머지 영역에서 또 다른 다항식을 사용하여 동일한 과정으로 1차원 curve-fitting을 통하여 smoothing과 interpolation을 수행함으로써 시간영역 및 주파수영역에서의 채널추정을 완료한다. 모의실험을 통하여 다양한 채널환경에서 MSE (mean square error) 및 BER (bit error rate) 성능을 분석한 결과, 제안된 방법이 기존의 채널추정 방법들에 비하여 월등히 우수하며, 최적의 Wiener 필터링 방법보다도 우수함을 보였다.

커먼레일 디젤인젝터의 분사성능 개선을 위한 내부유로형상 최적화에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Geometry Optimization of Internal Flow Passage in the Common-rail Diesel Injector for Improving Injection Performance)

  • The common-rail injectors are the most critical component of the CRDI diesel engines that dominantly affect engine performances through high pressure injection with exact control. Thus, from now on the advanced combustion technologies for common-rail diesel injection engine require high performance fuel injectors. Accordingly, the previous studies on the numerical and experimental analysis of the diesel injector have focused on a optimum geometry to induce proper injection rate. In this study, computational predictions of performance of the diesel injector have been performed to evaluate internal flow characteristics for various needle lift and the spray pattern at the nozzle exit. To our knowledge, three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of the internal flow passage of an entire injector duct including injection and return routes has never been studied. In this study, major design parameters concerning internal routes in the injector are optimized by using a CFD analysis and Response Surface Method (RSM). The computational prediction of the internal flow characteristics of the common-rail diesel injector was carried out by using STAR-CCM+7.06 code. In this work, computations were carried out under the assumption that the internal flow passage is a steady-state condition at the maximum needle lift. The design parameters are optimized by using the L16 orthogonal array and polynomial regression, local-approximation characteristics of RSM. Meanwhile, the optimum values are confirmed to be valid in 95% confidence and 5% significance level through analysis of variance (ANOVA). In addition, optimal design and prototype design were confirmed by calculating the injection quantities, resulting in the improvement of the injection performance by more than 54%.

MIMO 통신에서 황금(黃金) 비(比) 자켓코드의 응용 (Application of Golden Ratio Jacket Code in MIMO Wireless Communications)

  • 일상생활에서 신용카드 가로세로의 비가 1:1.56이고, A4 프린터 용지도 1:1.414 등 비교적 균형 잡힌 황금비로 되어 있다. 본 논문은 인식하기에 가장 균형적이고 이상적으로 보이는 비율인 황금비를 바탕으로 피보나치 Golden 비를 다항식으로 표현했고 오일러와 대칭 자켓 다항식의 응용을 BPSK, QPSK 성상도의 관계됨을 보였다. 증명방법으로 피보나치 Golden과 Galois 필드 요소 다항식을 유도했다. 이어서 수학적으로 직교 속성을 가진 적합한 코드를 생성하는데 사용될 수 있고 단순히 역 계산으로 사용할 수 있는 Golden 자켓코드를 새롭게 유도했고 MIMO 이동통신채널에서 Block Jacket 행렬을 이용 채널상관관계의 변화에 따른 채널용량을 구했다.
