Evaluation on Durability of High Performance Concrete with Expansive Additive and Shrinkage Reducing Admixture (팽창재와 수축저감제를 사용한 고성능 콘크리트의 내구성 평가)

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the durability of low shrinkage high performance concrete(LSHPC), which was combined with expansive additives and shrinkage reducing admixtures. We tested for not only LSHPC but also high performance concrete(HPC) and normal concrete(NC) to be compared with the durability of LSHPC. HPC was made in the same water-binder ratio of LSHPC without expansive additives and shrinkage reducing admixture. As a result, it was found that LSHPC had higher compressive and tensile strength than that of HPC. LSHPC showed more excellent performance than HPC and NC in the case of resistance to chloride ion penetration and resistance to carbonation and also showed nearly 100 durability factor in the freeze-thawing test with 500 cycles. From the examination about the watertightness and the pore distribution, it was found that the durability of LSHPC was improved because its hardened cement paste is organized closer. So we can conclude that when LSHPC is applied to structures in field, it is possible to reduce the shrinkage and crack in concrete and improve the durability.

The effect of Women' social networking on affective commitment and individual adaptation performance (인적 네트워킹이 정서적 조직몰입과 개인적응성과에 미치는 영향: 여성 공무원을 대상으로)

  • The number of female government employees is increasing steadily; therefore, the importance of their effective management is also increasing. Recently, female government employees have organized and exploited their social networks to achieve career success. To obtain a better understanding of the consequences of social networking and its impact on female government employees, 262 female employees were asked to provide details about their experiences and attitudes regarding networking behavior (internal and external networking) and how they influenced affective commitment and individual adaptation performance. The results confirmed that social networking significantly increases emotional sharing, and leads to high levels of affective commitment and individual adaptation performance. The moderating roles that positive psychological capital play in the relationships between social networking (internal and external) and emotional sharing were also investigated. The results confirmed that positive psychological capital enhances the impact internal social networking has on affective commitment and individual adaptation performance. Managerial implications for developing effective female employee management strategies were provided for government managers. Based on these results, the theoretical and practical implications of the research findings are discussed, and recommendations for future research are provided.

Performance Estimation of Hexagonal Rockfall Protection Net by Numerical Analysis (수치해석을 이용한 육각 낙석방지망의 성능 평가)

  • It has been generally recognized that the conventional rockfall protection nets have several problems to actual field application in the aspect of shock absorption, lack of pullout bearing capacities, and net damages. Because of the recognition, authors have tried to develop a new rockfall protection system consisted of shock absorption parts and hexagonal net configuration. In the previous research by the authors, the performance of the newly developed rockfall protection system has been investigated through the laboratory tests and the full-scale testing. In this study, subsequently, numerical analysis program is organized to make a confirmation of the structural stability and performance. For the correct design procedure of the hexagonal net system, it is essential to understand the various mechanical behavior of the entire system. It is also important to be reproduced the systematic characteristics of the system acquired by laboratory and full-scale testing by numerical analysis in order to carry out the numerical experiment to understand various mechanical behavior of the system. As a conclusion, the hexagonal net has better performance in mechanical and physical behavior compared with that of the rectangular net. Furthermore, due to the hexagonal net shows a good performance in aspect of the load distribution, it gives a good alternative in long-term management of the rockfall protection net.

  • In social studies the ability of a student to investigate after deciding the subject and individual planning to search for society and to put investigation reports in order has been taken as highly important. The social studies performance evaluation methods used most frequently in education is also one of the investigation report method. However, when most students get the task "Write the report", they might write the report without any distinct object or organized structure. The evaluation result given by the teacher at the end of term is thus one sided. The recent performance evaluation is to keep the existing evaluation and let only the result have importance, not the essential meaning. So this paper is to build and materialize a web-based performance evaluation system, to be able to evaluate a course of classes. This paper's purposes was to write the reports in setting the standard form that the students research and collect the various data as based in the system and to improve the quality of evaluation and to inspire the study motivation as acting the mutuality action among the students and between them and teachers as giving a feedback at once after evaluating among colleagues by suggested evaluation views.

Collapse Capacity Evaluation of Steel Intermediate Moment Frames Using Incremental Dynamic Analysis (비선형 증분동적해석을 통한 철골 중간모멘트 골조의 붕괴성능 평가)

  • Steel intermediate moment frames (IMFs) have been generally used as seismic load resisting systems (SLRSs) of a building to provide resistances against strong ground shaking. However, most of low and mid-rise steel buildings in Korea were constructed during pre-seismic code era or before the introduction of well-organized current seismic codes. It has been recognized that the seismic performance of these steel IMFs is still questionable. In order to respond to such a question, this study quantitatively investigates the seismic capacities of steel IMFs. Prototype models are built according to the number of stories, the levels of elastic seismic design base shear and the ductilities of structural components. Also, the other prototype models employing hysteretic energy dissipating devices (HEDDs) are considered. The collapse mechanism and the seismic performance of the prototype models are then described based on the results obtained from nonlinear-static and incremental-dynamic analyses. The seismic performance of the prototype models is assessed from collapse margin ratio (CMR) and collapse probability. From the assessment, the prototype model representing new steel IMFs has enough seismic capacities while, the prototype models representing existing steel IMFs provide higher collapse probabilities. From the analytic results of the prototype models retrofitted with HEDDs, the HEDDs enhance the seismic performance and collapse capacity of the existing steel IMFs. This is due to the energy dissipating capacity of the HEDDs and the redistribution of plastic hinges.

Effect of Usage Habits and Hardware Characteristics of Smartphone Users on Functional Performance (스마트폰 사용자의 사용습관 및 하드웨어 특성이 기능 수행도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined how the characteristics of smartphone affect the functional performance of smartphones. In particular, this study focused on an understanding of the correlation between smartphone functional factors and usage habits. Functionality is defined as 11 kinds of functional elements. The characteristics of the smartphones were defined as the hardware characteristics and the user habits characteristics. Eighty subjects were organized to collect actual data by the smartphone function. The actual time required to perform each function was measured and observed five times for each functional element. Regression analysis was performed using Minitab ver.14 by classifying the measured values of the functional elements as dependent variables, the hardware characteristics collected through the questionnaire, and the user's usage habits as 12 independent variables. Overall, it is difficult to conclude that demographic and hardware characteristics of smartphone users have a significant effect on the performance. On the other hand, the variables related to smartphone usage habits have had a great impact on the performance of smartphone tasks, and as a result, the task execution time has increased. In simple input variables or viewing variables, the effects on usability was relatively small, but in all active variables, the execution time increased 10% - 30% in all tasks except for phone calls, seeking phone numbers, and dictionary search. Thus far, if the smartphone user interface has been provided uniformly in a large and simple manner, users with various usage habits can be utilized even if the input method and task processing method are more complicated and various interface types are provided.

Quality of Retailer Education Program and its Effect on Loyalty and Business Performance (교육서비스 품질이 지원 사업 충성도와 경영성과에 미치는 영향 : 사업체 형태를 중심으로)

  • In 2013, the small retailer organized support service, which commenced in 2009, has been expanding its place in the policy by transforming into a small retailer cooperating support service. This support service supports two main sides. One of them is strengthening the financial aspects of the scale by organizing the small retailers in order to make the distribution efficient. The second is improving the management and enhancing the efficiency through visitation education. This research focuses on studying the effects of the visitation education which is one of the two aspects of small retailers support service. Empirical analysis on the effects of the visitation education's quality on the loyalty of support service and business performance was performed in detail by dividing the structure of the companies into chain form and combined form of small retailers. According to the results of the analysis, the visitation education's quality positively affected the support service's loyalty without any restrictions on the structures of the retailers. However in the business performances, the visitation education's quality only showed positive effects on the combined form of small retailers. Therefore, it is implied that in order to continuously receive support program by increasing the loyalty of the retailers, the quality of the visitation education must be increased and the retailer support service need to be considering the structure of the companies in order to improve small retailer's business performance.

The Performance Process Analysis of Goldberg Machine Activities based on Gender of Elementary Gifted Students (초등영재학생의 성별에 따른 골드버그 장치 활동 수행과정 분석)

  • In this study, by examining the characteristics of boys and girls which would appear in the performance process of Goldberg machine activities, it would be attempted to provide the implications for the development and teaching methods of gifted and talented programs. The object of study was organized into separate 2 groups of boys and girls by each, composed of a total of 16 people among 5th graders of the gifted class in elementary school, located in Gyeonggi province. The final assignment was to make the Goldberg machine in order to have the beads get to the target spot latest, in which the analysis was implemented qualitatively by participating in and observing the performance process of students. After dividing the Goldberg machine activities into the steps of planning, production, outcome, assessment and reflection, their analysis results are as follows: First, in the planning stage, the girls explained minutely the process of Goldberg machine in writing, whereas the boys represented it visually simply. Second, in the production stage, the boys showed the task commitment by trying to realize the machine as designed initially, but the girls showed their appearance to represent it simply and easily. Third, in the sophistication and efficiency of the machine production, the boys were superior to the girls, and in the creativity and diversity of the use of materials, the girls were more excellent. Fourth, in the assessment and reflection, the boys evaluated it individually, and the girls showed their appearance to evaluate it by reflecting others'thinking. Hence, when developing and teaching the gifted and talented programs, it would be required that the teaching and learning contents be recomposed by considering the gender, or that the various class strategies be sought. Further, the broader and more systematic studies, on the performance process of gifted students based on the gender, should be carried out.

A Strategic Quality Initiative and Its Opportunities to Improve Healthcare Environment (진료환경개선을 위한 우선적 전략과제 설정 및 그 적용)

  • Background : Strategic planning is an organizationwide or systemwide, ongoing look into the future usually of 2~3 years, based on objective analysis of the current environment and trends, but it can incorporate both short-term and long-term goals. The strategic planning process includes external analysis, internal analysis, issue analysis, development of mission, vision and values, and lastly development of organizational goals and objectives. As a part of the strategic quality planning process, certain service lines, important organizationwide functions, or key processes supporting these functions can be prioritized to expedite and roll out certain strategic goals. This is called strategic quality initiatives. Methods : We organized a quality improvement team, a subgroup of 21st century vision planning corps of our medical center, and pursued QI activities for improvement of healthcare environment, particularly in the admission setting. We developed a strategic quality initiative based on the results of patient satisfaction surveys, and carried out functions of self-directed work team. Results : The strategic goal was to be the benchmark for peer group hospitals in Korea for providing cost-effective best-practice. The QI team included 3 medical doctors, 1 nurse, 1 social worker, and 1 QI consultant as well as many operational members to support services and quality initiatives met every Tuesday for 18 weeks. Outcome objectives were to improve patient satisfaction score. The issues included in the objectives were comfort, temperature, noise, cleanliness of the admission wards, quality and education of patient meals, matters regarding the admission process, and an appurtenant facility such as restaurant or convenience store. Every issue was discussed and recommendations, conclusions and opportunities were implemented. Conclusions : By developing a strategic quality initiative as a part of the strategic quality planning process, and pursuing a self-directed work team, certain sen/ice lines, important organizationwide functions, or key processes supporting these functions can be improved effectively within a short period. Strategic quality initiatives serve to support, or roll out, certain strategic goals that are relevant to performance improvement and development of specific measurable outcome objectives, and associated performance measure for each initiative. Each strategic quality initiative should include a statement of intent outcome objectives, and performance measures. We will come back with follow up of the strategic quality initiative, for improvement of healthcare environment, and results of patient satisfaction re-survey.

The Effects of Type of Group Based Incentive across Task Structure on Work Performance (과업의 상호의존성에 따라 집단 성과급 분배방식이 수행에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of different group incentive type on performance under two types of interdependence in a task structure. One hundred twenty college and graduate students were recruited and asked to perform group typing task. Each typing groups organized three members. Participants were randomly assigned to one of four experimental conditions: equally-distributed incentive and differentially-distributed under two different task interdependence. In this study, the dependent variable was the number of correctly typed characters. We found the significant interaction effects between group incentive type and task interdependence. Specifically, under interdependent task, the work performance of participants in equally-distributed group incentive condition was higher than the performance in differentially-distributed group incentive condition.
