  • The purpose of this study is to investigate what happens within an organization when a process view of the business is adopted. With the example of an empirical case, we aim to illustrate: how members of the organization make sense of process management; what contributions members of the organization consider to be the result of adopting a process view; and the relationship between the functional and the process structure. The empirical base in this study is one of Sweden's largest purchasing organizations within the public sector. The results are drawn from interviews with the process owners and a survey to all members involved in process teams. The case findings reveal an ambiguous image of process management. At the same time as process management solved specific organizational problems, it generated new dilemmas. It is argued that it is more rewarding to consider the adoption of the process view a 'social negotiation' rather than the result of planned implementation. The study also highlights that the meaning of process management is not anything given but something being created, and its negotiation and translation into organizational practice is open-ended. Furthermore, the study gives an illustration of the conflict between the adopted process view and the existing functional organization.

  • This study considers the stages of curriculum development for the integrated curriculum of Pusan National University Graduate School & Hospital of Korean Medicine, and specifically the KAS2021 (announced in 2019), improvement measures for the curriculum of the College of Traditional Korean Medicine, and the case of the College of Medicine. The introduction of integrated curriculum in the College of Traditional Korean Medicine starts from the members (doers)' agreement. In the process of development, the organization that represents the members, the organization that sets up a goal and designs the curriculum, and the organization that executes them should fulfill their own roles. The stage of development and operation should have the support system for manpower, institution, administration, and finance. The curriculum (draft) should be concrete enough to be operated in reality. For the smooth operation of integrated education, it is necessary to secure more full-time teachers than before, and it is also necessary to have an organization fully in charge of monitoring and improving the operation. For the introduction and operation of integrated curriculum in Traditional Korean Medicine education, the members' agreement, institutional change, support system, and the cultivation of manpower for the operation/evaluation/development of curriculum should be considered.

  • Creative performance has been regarded as the key to the success of an organization in recent years, and is considered essential for the survival of an organization. Organizations must find and develop creative solutions to deal with a variety of business issues. How can organizations become more creative? To develop creativity, organizations must make it easier to connect the knowledge and perspectives of its various members, who may be scattered around the world, by developing a virtual team. Drawing from the transactive memory systems (TMS), which include expertise location, credibility, and coordination, this study investigates how the positive affect of team members influences the development of creative performance during virtual collaboration where face-to-face team activities are limited. The proposed structured model was empirically tested with cross-sectional data from 322 individuals. Results indicated that the positive affect of team members was found to moderate the relationship between TMS and creativity. Through this study, we expect to provide an understanding of the mechanisms involved in developing creativity among team members in a virtual work environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze collaborative relationship between members of a building construction organization. For the analysis of collaborative relationship, this researcher collected data by conducting a questionnaire survey with members of three large building construction organizations for apartment housing. The analyzed contents of collaborative relationship were the 'frequency of communication between organizational members' and their 'reliability'. According to the analysis of communication network, construction managers had low frequency of communication, whereas those responsible for each area, like construction deputy managers, had high frequency of communication. It indicates that middle managers are at the center of communication related to construction work in construction organizations. According to the analysis of reliability network, construction managers showed highest reliability, and employees at the top level in an organizational map also showed high reliability. Since they generally have a lot of experience, are some older of age, and assume responsibility for work, they are considered to receive reliability from other organizational members. This study proved that it was possible to numerically express reliability of organizational members, which is an abstract concept, and analyze it. Therefore, it is expected that the analysis result will highly be likely to be used in the area of construction management.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the direct effects of PSM on job satisfaction (JS) and perceived job performance (PJP) in public institutions and to identify indirect effects of the mediator. In particular, we define the person-organization fit (POF) used as the mediator as the fitness of the personnel system and identify the influence of POF in the relationship between PSM, JS, and PJP. The questionnaires used in this study were conducted for the members of Changwon Public Health Center and empirical analysis using structural equation modeling was conducted and the following results were obtained. First, PSM in the integrated public service organization has a positive effect on JS and PJP. Second, PSM shows that JS and PJP of organization members are improved through mediating effect of POF. It can be concluded that PSM can improve JS and PJP through institutional fit between members and organizations.
