대면적 졸-겔 산화아연/은 나노선 복합 투명 전도 기판 제조를 위한 스프레이 코팅법 개발 (Development of Spray Coating Methods for Large Area Sol-Gel ZnO/Ag Nanowire Composite Transparent Conducting Substrates)

  • Transparent conductive thin films (TCFs) are essential materials for solar cells, organic light-emitting diodes, and display panels. Indium tin oxide (ITO) is one of the most widely used commercial materials to create TCFs'; however, new materials that can possibly replace ITO at a lower cost and/or those possessing mechanical flexibility are urgently needed. Silver nanowire (AgNW) is one of those promising materials, as it is less expensive and possesses superior mechanical flexibility as compared to ITO. We used AgNW and sol-gel ZnO to fabricate composite thin films by spray coating. We propose two spray-coating methods: the 'metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD)/AgNW' method and the Mixture method. These two methods are expected to be commercialized for high-quality and low-cost products, respectively.

  • In recent years the interest in organic/inorganic hybrid materials has increased at a fast rate. Nano organic-inorganic hybrid composites have shown advantages for preparing hard coating layers. Especially, nano hybrid composite has low environmental pollution. It has high transparency, hardness, toughness, thermal dissociation temperature, hydrophobicity by using nano sized inorganic material. There are many ways in which these materials may be synthesized, a typical one being the use of silica and silanes using the sol-gel process. The structure of sol-gel silica evolves as a result of these successive hydrolysis and condensation reactions and the subsequent drying and curing. The sol-gel reactions are catalyzed by acids and produce silica sol solutions. The silica sol grows until they reach a size where a gel transition occurs and a solid-like gel is formed. Colloidal silica(CS)/silane sol solutions were synthesized in variation with parameters such as different acidity and reaction time. In order to understand their physical and chemical properties, sol-gel coating films were fabricated on glass. From all sol-gel solutions, seasoning effect of sol-gel coating layer on glass was observed.

Surface-modified Li[Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05]O2 Cathode Fabricated using Polyvinylidene Fluoride as a Novel Coating

  • This study describes the effect of coating the $Li[Ni_{0.8}Co_{0.15}Al_{0.05}]O_2$ cathode surface with a homogeneous carbon layer produced by carbonization of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) as a novel organic source. The phase integrity of the above cathode was not affected by the carbon coating, whereas its rate capability and cycling performance were enhanced. Similarly, the cathode thermal stability was also improved after coating, which additionally protected the cathode surface against the reactive electrolyte containing hydrofluoric acid (HF). The results show that coating the $Li[Ni_{0.8}Co_{0.15}Al_{0.05}]O_2$ cathode with carbon using the PVDF precursor is an effective approach to enhance its electrochemical properties.

METALLIC COATING PROTECTION ON DIELECTROMAGNETS PREPARED FROM MIXTURE OF HARD MAGNETIC POWDERS

  • Our team works on mixture of hard magnetic materials. As hard magnetic material we used mixture of powders: melt-spun ribbon Nd-Fe-B, ferrite and Alnico. Their different mixtures are basic material for dielectromagnets under our investigation. Main disadvantage of dielectromagnets with Nd-Fe-B alloy powder as a component is a low corrosion resistance. Protection against corrosion is covering dielectromagnets with metallic or organic coating film. The coating film protects dielectromagnets from free particles on the surface and low resistance for mechanical stresses too. The surface of dielectromagnets prepared from mixture of powders if formed by metallic particles - powder of Nd-Fe-B and Alnico, particles of oxide - powder of ferrite and particles of resin - bonding materials. Team work on technology of laying the metallic coating on dielectromagnets prepared from mixture of mentioned powders. Papers show the results of initial investigation on metallic coating technology. It shows influence of type and used technology of the metallic coating film on magnetic properties of dielectromagnets.

표면 개질된 지르코니아를 함유한 유-무기 하이브리드 코팅액으로 도포된 PET 필름의 특성 (Characterization of PET films coated with organic-inorganic hybrid coating system containing surface modified zirconia)

  • 최근 우수한 유연성과 화학적 안정성 등을 가진 고분자 수지와 우수한 기계적 성질 등을 나타내는 무기 재료로 이루어진 나노 복합 시스템으로써 유-무기 하이브리드 코팅 필름에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 아크릴레이트 단량체로써 사용된 o-phenylphenoxyethyl acrylate (OPPEA)는 1.576의 높은 굴절률을 나타내고, Bisphenol A ethoxylate diacrylate (BAEDA)는 굴절률은 낮지만 경화된 고분자의 경도를 향상시킨다. 또한, 무기 소재로써 사용된 지르코니아는 산화지르코늄으로써 우수한 내구성과 광학특성 등을 나타낸다. 본 연구에서는 광학 특성을 향상시키기 위한 목적으로 아크릴레이트 단량체 중 BAEDA의 함량을 조절하여 필름을 제조한 뒤 연필 경도계와 아베굴절계를 이용하여 광학 특성 변화를 확인하였고, UV-vis spectrophotometer을 이용해 투과도를 비교하여 최적의 조건을 확립하였다. 그리고 실란 커플링제인 ${\gamma}$-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS)를 사용하여 지르코니아를 소수화 처리하여 아크릴레이트 단량체에 대한 분산성을 향상시키고, 개질 전후의 물에 대한 분산성 변화를 조사하여 물에 대한 친화력이 감소하였음을 확인하였고, FT-IR ATR spectrophotometer를 통해 MPS에 의해 도입된 $1716cm^{-1}$에서의 에스터 C=O 결합 peak의 존재를 통해 MPS에 의한 지르코니아 표면의 개질 반응이 진행되었음을 확인하였다. 또한, 지르코니아의 표면에 도입된 규소 원자의 존재는 X 선 형광법을 이용하여 확인하였다. 그리고 화학적으로 개질된 지르코니아를 아크릴레이트 단량체에 도입하여 광경화 필름을 제조하였을 때, 굴절률은 아크릴레이트 자체 필름보다 1.2% 향상되었음을 확인하였고, SEM/EDS mapping 분석을 통해 PET 필름에 코팅된 개질 후 지르코니아가 아크릴레이트 코팅층에 균일하게 분포되어 있음을 알 수 있었다.

유/무기 하이브리드 코팅액에 의한 냉간압연강판의 내식특성 (Improving the Corrosion Resistance of Cold-Rolled Carbon Steel by Treatment with a Hybrid Organic/Inorganic Coating Solution)

  • 종래 아연의 부식 속도를 줄이는 가장 일반적인 방법은 $Cr^{+6}$를 도포하여 화학적으로 개조하는 것이었다. 그러나 $Cr^{+6}$는 현재 환경 보호법 때문에 사용이 제한되어 있다. 따라서 자자들은 Si를 가지는 유/무기 용액에 대한 아연도금강판의 최적 조건을 연구하였다. 최적 내식성은 $190^{\circ}C$에서 5분간 열처리한 조건으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 내식성 평가를 위하여 우레탄 용액(Urethane 20 wt.% ; S-700), Si를 가지는 유/무기 용액(Si polysilicate 10 wt.% + Urethane 10 wt.% LR-0317) 및 Si와 Ti를 가지는 2종류의 유/무기 용액(Si polysilicate 7 wt.% + Urethane 13 wt.% + Ti amorphous 0.5 wt.% ; LR-0727(1), Si polysilicate 7 wt.% + Urethane 7 wt.% + Ti amorphous 0.5 wt.% + epoxy 6wt.% ; LR-0727(2))을 사용하였다. 내식성 평가는 냉간압연 강판을 사용하여 염수분무 시험으로 실시하였다. 7시간의 염수 분무 시험에서 LR-0727(1)과 LR-0727(2) 용액이 냉간 압연 강판에 대하여 우수한 내식성을 나타내었다.

내마모성 색상코팅제를 코팅한 폴리카보네이트 필름의 물리적 특성 (The Physical Properties of Polycarbonate Films Coated with Hard and Color Coating Materials)

  • 폴리카보네이트(polycarbonate)는 가볍고, 내충격성 및 가공성이 우수하여 광학기기의 렌즈 및 각종 건축물의 투명 소재 등에 유리의 대체품으로서 널리 이용되고 있으나 낮은 표면경도를 가지고 있어 유통 또는 사용시의 접촉으로 인하여 제품에 손상을 줄 염려가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 폴리카보네이트 필름에 아크릴레이트 올리고머, 모노머, 용매, 염료, 실리콘 아크릴레이트, 그리고 광개시제 등을 다양한 함량비율에 따라 혼합한 코팅용액을 제조하고, 구성 성분의 비율에 따른 폴리카보네이트 필름의 표면 경도, 접착력, 그리고 투과율의 변화를 실험하였다. 그 결과 최대 연필 경도가 2H이고, 접착력과 가시광선 투과율이 우수한 코팅용액의 조성을 얻었다. 색상코팅 실험 결과, 기존 산화물 증착에 의해 구현하던 색상을 본 실험에서 제조한 코팅 용액을 사용하여 거의 대부분 구현할 수 있었으며, 이를 바탕으로 색상 윈도우 렌즈를 제작한 결과, 매우 깨끗하고 균일한 색상과 표면을 가졌다.

Needle 코팅을 이용한 미세 PEDOT:PSS 스트라이프 제작 (Fabrication of Fine PEDOT:PSS Stripes Using Needle Coating)

  • We have investigated the feasibility of fabricating fine stripes using needle coating for potential applications in solution-processed organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). To this end, we have employed an aqueous poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) solution that has been widely used as a hole injection layer (HIL) of OLEDs and performed needle coatings by varying the process parameters such as the coating gap and coating speed. As expected, the stripe width is reduced with increasing coating speed. However, the central thickness of the stripe is rather increased as the coating speed increases, which is different from other coating processes such as slot-die and blade coatings. It is due to the fact that the meniscus formed between the needle tip and the substrate varies depending sensitively on the coating speed. It is also found that the stripe width and thickness are reduced with increasing coating gap. To demonstrate its applicability to OLEDs, we have fabricated a red OLED stripe and obtained light emission with the width of about 90㎛.

솔-젤법을 이용한 투명 칼라 코팅유리 제조 (Fabrication of Transparent Color Coating Glass by Sol-gel Method)

  • Transparent color coating films were fabricated on a glass substrate by using sol-gel hybrid binder and organic dye. Sol-gel hybrid binder coating film fabricated with PTMS of 0.03 mole showed a very high pencil hardness of 9 H. As the withdrawal speed increased from 1.0 mm/s to 5.0 mm/sec, The yellowness ($b^*$) of coating glass also gradually increased. The transmittance of yellow color coating glass was 82.6% and the haze of coating glass was 0.35%. Red and blue color coating glasses also showed the high transmittance of 62.4% and 80.6% respectively. The surface hardness of color coating films was 6 H.

연속 slot-die 코팅법을 이용한 TPD 유기 정공수송층의 코팅 특성 분석 (Coating Properties of a TPD Organic Hole-transporting Layer Deposited using a Continuous slot-die Coating Method)

  • N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)1-1' biphenyl-4,4'-diamine (TPD) hole-transporting layers were deposited using a continuous slot-die coating method on ITO/PET flexible substrates. It is crucial that the substrates have a very smooth surface with a RMS roughness of less than 2 nm for the deposition of semiconductor nanocrystals or Quantum Dots. The parameters of the slot-die coating, including the solution concentration of the TPD, the gap between the slot-die and the substrates, and the coating speed were controlled in these experiments. To obtain full coverage of the TPD films on the ITO/PET substrates (40 mm wide and several meters long), the injection rates of the TPD solution were increased proportional to the coating speed of the flexible substrates. Additionally, the injection rates must be increased as the gap distance changes from 400 to 600 ${\mu}m$ at the same coating speed. A RMS surface roughness of less than 2 nm was obtained, in contrast to bare ITO/PET substrates, at 13 nm, as the coating speed and gap distance increased.
