This article reviews the topic of how to identify and develop a removable partial denture (RPD) path of placement, and provides a literature review of the concept of the RPD path of placement, also known as the path of insertion. An optimal RPD path of placement, guided by mutually parallel guide planes, ensures that the RPD flanges fit intimately over edentulous ridge structures and that the framework fits intimately with guide plane surfaces, which prevents food collecting empty spaces between the intaglio surface of the framework and intraoral surfaces, and ensures that RPD clasps engage adequate numbers of tooth undercuts to ensure RPD retention. The article covers topics such as the causes of obstructions to RPD intra-oral seating, the causes of food collecting empty spaces that may exist around an RPD, and how to identify if a guide plane is parallel with the projected RPD path of placement. The article presents a method of using a surgical operating microscope, or high magnification (6-8x or greater) binocular surgical loupes telescopes, combined with co-axial illumination, to identify a preliminary path of placement for an arch. This preliminary path of placement concept may help to guide a dentist or a dental laboratory technician when surveying a master cast of the arch to develop an RPD path of placement, or in verifying that intra-oral contouring has aligned teeth surfaces optimally with the RPD path of placement. In dentistry, a well-fitting RPD reduces long-term periodontal or structural damage to abutment teeth.
Majority of industrial robots are controlled by a simple joint servo control of joint actuators. In this type of control, the performance of control is influenced greatly by the joint interaction torques including Coriolis and centrifugal forces, which act as disturbance torques to the control system. As the speed of the robot increases, the effect of this disturbance torque increases, and makes the high speed-high precision control more difficult to achieve. In this paper, the joint disturbance torque of robots is analyzed. The joint disturbance torque is defined using the coefficients of dynamic equation of motion, and for the case of a 2DOF planar robot, the conditions for the maximum joint disturbance torques are identified, and the effect of link parameters and joint variables on the joint disturbance torque are examined. Then, a solutioin to the optimal path placement problem is proposed that minimizes the joint disturbance torque are examined. then, a solution to the optimal path placement problem is proposed that minimizes the joint disturbance torque during a straight line motion. the proposed method is illustrated using computer simulation. the proposed solution method cna be applied to the class of robots that are controlled by independent joint sevo control, which includes the vast majority of industrial robots. By minimizing the joint disturbacne torque during the motion, the simple joint servo controlled robot can move with improved path tracking accuracy at high speed.

In this paper, we propose an optimal placement of sensor nodes with 2.4GHz wireless channel characteristics. The proposed method determines optimal transmission range based on log-normal path loss model, and optimal number of sensor nodes calculating the density of sensor nodes. For the lossless data transmission, we search the optimal locations with self-organizing feature maps(SOM) using transmission range, and number of sensor nodes. We demonstrate that optimal transmission range is 20m, and optimal number of sensor nodes is 8. We performed simulations on the searching for optimal locations and confirmed the link condition of sensor nodes.

The optimal AP placement for wireless LAN is important factor for improving service quality and reducing cost. Decision of AP placement is depend on radio signal strength, environment factor and logical area property, which is user's frequently posed place. This paper proposes optimal multiple AP placement method based on radio prediction tool. The proposed method can get flexibility in multiple AP placement using user defined parameter and the optimization design uses Hopfield network algorithm. And path-loss model is used for one of radion prediction model. The result of simulation shows that it is efficiently reduces the process to find optimal AP placement. In this paper, we propose an optimal camera placement using agent-based simulation. To derive importance of space and to cover the space efficiently, we accomplished an agent-based simulation based on classification of space and pattern analysis of moving people. We developed an agent-based camera placement method considering camera performance as well as space priority extracted from path finding algorithms. We demonstrate that the method not only determinates the optimal number of cameras, but also coordinates the position and orientation of the cameras with considering the installation costs. To validate the method, we compare simulation results with videos of real materials and show experimental results simulated in a specific space.

Overlay routing has emerged as a promising approach to improve reliability and efficiency of the Internet. The key to overlay routing is the placement and maintenance of the overlay infrastructure, especially, the selection and placement of key relay nodes. Spurred by the observation that a few relay nodes with high betweenness centrality can provide more optimal routes for a large number of node pairs, we propose a resilient routing overlay network construction method by introducing Super-Relay nodes. In detail, we present the K-Minimum Spanning Tree with Super-Relay nodes algorithm (SR-KMST), in which we focus on the selection and connection of Super-Relay nodes to optimize the routing quality in a resilient and scalable manner. For the simultaneous path failures between the default physical path and the overlay backup path, we also address the selection of recovery path. The objective is to select a proper one-hop recovery path with minimum cost in path probing and measurement. Simulations based on a real ISP network and a synthetic Internet topology show that our approach can provide high-quality overlay routing service, while achieving good robustness.

In a dynamically changing time-varying network environment, the optimal moving pattern of edge devices can be applied to distributing computing resources to edge cloud servers or deploying new edge servers in the FEC(Fog/Edge Computing) environment. In addition, this can be used to build an environment capable of efficient computation offloading to alleviate latency problems, which are disadvantages of cloud computing. This paper proposes an algorithm to extract the optimal moving pattern by analyzing the moving path of multiple edge devices requiring application services in an arbitrary spatio-temporal environment based on frequency. A comparative experiment with A* and Dijkstra algorithms shows that the proposed algorithm uses a relatively fast execution time and less memory, and extracts a more accurate optimal path. Furthermore, it was deduced from the comparison result with the A* algorithm that applying weights (preference, congestion, etc.) simultaneously with frequency can increase path extraction accuracy.
