  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate food sanitation training program for the improvement of food service operation in day-care centers. Subjects consisted of 55(experimental) and 25(control) foodservice employees and 33(experimental) and 20(control)directors. The results of this study can be summarized as follow: 1. The majority of child care directors(55.0%(control), 46.9%(experimental)) received food sanitation education but 70% of control and 75.7% of experimental group did not conduct any practical sanitation training for employees. 2. The employee's food sanitary practices of control and experimental did not show any significant difference at the pre-test level but only the experimental group showed a significant improvement at the post-test level. 3. The sanitary knowledge of food service employees between two groups did not show any significant difference at the pre-test level, but a significant knowledge improvement was observed at the post-test level such as food poisoning concepts and sanitary equipment maintenance only in experimental group. 4. Dicrectors' sanitary practices affected the employees' sanitary practices but directors' food sanitary knowledge did not have much influence on the employees' knowledge.

  • The 2nd stage Kick Motor under the national aerospace middle and long term plan operates over the height of 300Km. Rocket Motors, designed for operation in high altitude, need nozzles with large expansion ratio to improve thrust efficiency. Hence, to evaluate the performance of such rocket motors on the ground, similar low pressure with the operating condition has to be made for the ground test to prevent flow separation in the nozzle. This study is for the installation of the high altitude test facility and test result for Kick Motor.

  • This paper presents on design factor considered in an altitude test cell facility to determine the best sizing to optimize exhaust diffuser pressure recovery and the exact cooling load required to be supplied under transient operation. Engine simulation was performed to analyse the exhaust gas temperature, exit mass flow rate, specific fuel consumption and exhaust velocity helpful in determining secondary mass air flow and the mixed air temperature entering the ejector. based on this, the amount of cooling load was deduced. It was found that improved pressure recovery reduces operational cost(air supply facility, cooling water).

  • Recently, environmentally friendly aviation propulsion systems have received a lot of attention. Therefore, many studies have been conducted on the development of UAVs and propulsion systems that can perform missions while relying on a combination of various power sources. In this paper, we show the design results of a hybrid propulsion system based on solar-power generation. It integrates a single system to test reliability and performance. Finally, a verification test is conducted on the aircraft to confirm the function and normal operation of the system before a flight test.

  • Airborne display systems provide pilots with a variety of information needed to operate aircraft. Software faults in the display system can seriously affect the operation of the aircraft, because it can provide inaccurate information to the pilot. Therefore, the software faults are identified and eliminated through ground testing and flight testing. This paper presents an analysis tool called FDR (flight data replay) for flight test of airborne display software. This tool works in real time with the mission computer of aircraft. Also, the tool reproduces the functional error conditions that appear in the display systems by applying flight test data to the display software.

  • When a new fuel is developed, various mechanical properties are absolutely necessary for a safety analysis of the fuel for the licensing and prediction of its mechanical behavior during operation and accident conditions. In this paper, a mechanically equivalent surrogate plate of U-Mo dispersion fuel is presented using tungsten, substitute material of U-Mo particle. A surrogate plate, composed of tungsten/aluminum dispersion meat and aluminum alloy cladding, is manufactured with the same fabrication process with that of fuel plate except that a tungsten powder is used instead of U-Mo powder. A modal test showed that the surrogate plate and fuel plate have similar dynamic characteristics, and a tensile test demonstrated the similarity of the material property up to the yield strength range. The conducted tests proved that the surrogate tungsten plate has equivalent mechanical behaviors with that of a fuel plate, which leads to the acceptable use of a surrogate fuel assembly using tungsten/aluminum dispersion meat in various mechanical tests. The surrogate fuel assembly can be utilized for various out-of-pile characteristic tests, which are necessary for the licensing achievement of a research reactor that uses U-Mo dispersion fuel as a driver.

  • Encouragement of DER from Korean government with several policies boosts DER installation in power system. When the penetration of DER in the grid is getting high, loss of generation with break-away of DER by abnormal grid conditions should be considered, because loss of high generation causes abnormal low frequency and additional operations of protection system. Therefore, KEPCO where is Korean power utility is preparing improvement in regulations for DERs connected to the grid to support abnormal grid conditions such as low and high frequencies or voltages. This is called 'Ride Through' because the requirement is for DER to maintain grid connection during required periods when abnormal grid conditions occur. However, it is not easy to have a test for ride through capability in reality because emulation of abnormal grid conditions is not possible in real power system in operation. Also, it is not easy to have a study on grid effect when ride through capability fails with the same reason. PHILs (Power Hardware In the Loop System) makes it possible to analyze power system and hardware performance at once. Therefore, this paper introduces PHILs test methods and presents verification of ride through capability especially for low voltage grid conditions.

  • Many piping systems installed in the power plant are directly related to the safety and operation of the plant. Various dampers have been applied to the piping system to reduce the damage caused by earthquakes. In order to reduce the vibration of the piping system, this study developed a steel coil damper (SCD) with a straightforward structure but excellent damping performance. SCD reduces the vibration of the objective structure by hysteretic damping. The new SCD damper can be applied to high-temperature environments since it consists of steel members. The paper introduces a design method for the elastoplastic coil spring, which is the critical element of SCD. The practical applicability of the design procedure was validated by comparing the nonlinear force-displacement curves calculated by design equations with the results obtained from nonlinear finite element analysis and repeated loading test. It was found that the designed SCD's have a damping ratio higher than 25%. In addition, this study performed a set of seismic tests using a shaking table with an existing piping system to verify the vibration control capacity on the piping system by SCD. Test results prove that the SCD can effectively control the displacement vibration of the piping system up to 80%.

  • The estimation method of combustion efficiency has been introduced by using closed bomb test(CBT). The Noble-Abel equation of state was applied to consider the real gas effects to take account of high operation pressure about a couple of 100 atm. of CBT. The heat loss through the CBT wall was considered. The volume change of grain was calculated by applying form functions, which estimated combustion efficiency of 8 different gain shapes. The combustion estimation method proposed in this study was fairly validated by the comparision with the pressure-time history data of the CBT experiments. The effects of both grain shape and propellant loading density were analyzed.

  • Recently, as mega-urbanization progresses, urban logistics centered on large cities is growing rapidly, and logistics transportation is increasing due to the lack of logistics infrastructure and the operation of a delivery system using cargo trucks in the city center. being cited as a cause. In order to solve this problem, domestic researchers are conducting research on the development of " Urban Underground railway Logistics System" that minimizes the initial infrastructure construction cost by utilizing the existing urban railway facilities in the city. Therefore, this paper analyzed the usage environment of the actual urban railway station to which the system will be applied in order to derive candidates for the test bed selection of "Urban Underground railway Logistics System". The evaluation criteria for test bed candidate role selection were established, and the candidate group derived from the Brown & Gibson model was used to evaluate the candidate group and derive the candidate role. A review of the results was conducted to contribute to the establishment of a test bed for the " Urban Underground railway Logistics System" under development.
