배전계통 운영비용의 최소화에 의한 분산전원의 최적용량과 위치결정 (Optimal capacity and allocation of distributed generation by minimum operation cost of distribution system)

  • In operation of distribution system, DGs(Distributed Generations) are installed as an alternative of extension and establishment of substations, transmission and distribution lines according to increasing power demand. Optimal capacity and allocation of DGs improve power quality and reliability. This paper proposes a method for determining the optimal number, size and allocation of DGs needed to minimize operation cost of distribution system. Capacity of DGs for economic operation of distribution system can be estimated by the load growth and line capacity during operation planning duration. DG allocations are determined to minimize total cost with failure rate and annual reliability cost of each load point using GA(Genetic Algorithm).

  • In the design and maintenance of buildings, identifying the degree of damage in the event of a fire is an important factor in fire prevention and fire safety design. In order to predict fire damage, safety measures should be established by predicting the nature of evacuation according to fire, smoke and in-house characteristics, and the effects of the operation of fire safety facilities should also be considered, but in Korea, the risk analysis due to the operation of fire safety facilities is insufficient. Accordingly, this study uses fire statistics and sprinkler inspection data to analyze the degree of fire damage caused by the operation of sprinkler facilities in a probabilistic manner.

  • 4차 산업혁명과 더불어 IoT 기술이 발전함에 따라 IoT 기술이 적용된 가스안전 제품들이 개발되고 있다. 하지만 그에 따른 가스 안전 제도는 허용되지 않았기 때문에 IoT 가스안전 제품들을 위한 제도개선과 동작 신뢰성 테스트가 요구된다. 본 논문은 IoT 가스안전 제품 중 IoT 퓨즈 콕, 스마트 다기능 계량기에 대해서 연구하고 IoT 퓨즈 콕의 실증 결과 데이터를 분석하여 동작 신뢰성 데이터를 확보하며, 그에 따라 IoT 가스안전제품에서 선두주자가 되는 것뿐만 아니라 추후 다양한 시험 평가 및 방법으로 가스 차단 기술을 한 단계 성장시키는 것을 목적으로 한다.

Reliability of an elastic bar under tension in a corrosive environment

  • In this study we investigate the reliability of a bar subjected to a random tensile load in presence of corrosion. We consider linear, quadratic and exponential models that connect the stress in the bar with the corrosion rate. Two probability densities are considered for the load, with attendant derivation of the time-dependant reliability. The design time of operation is determined utilizing the requirement that the reliability must not be less than the required value.

  • This paper proposes a DC microgrid operational strategy and control method for improved service reliability. The objective is to supply power to as many non-critical loads as possible, while providing an uninterrupted power supply to critical loads. The DC bus signaling method, in which DC voltage is an information carrier, is employed to implement the operational strategy in a decentralized manner. During grid-connected operation, a grid-tied converter balances the power of the microgrid by controlling the DC voltage. All loads are connected to the microgrid, and operate normally. During islanded operation, distributed generators (DGs), a backup generator, or an energy storage system balances the power. However, some non-critical loads may be disconnected from the microgrid to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to critical loads. For enhanced service reliability, disconnected loads can be automatically reconnected if certain conditions are satisfied. Control rules are proposed for all devices, and detailed microgrid operational modes and transition conditions are then discussed. Additionally, methods to determine control parameter settings are proposed. PSCAD/EMTDC simulation results demonstrate the performance and effectiveness of the proposed operational strategy and control method.

  • The micro grid considered in this paper consists of a diesel generator, a photovoltaic array, a wind turbine, a fuel cell, and a energy storage system. This paper explains and simulates the micro grid components in terms of accuracy and efficiency of having a system model based on the costs of fuel as well as operation and maintenance. For operational efficiency, the objective function in a diesel generator consists of the fuel cost function similar to the cost functions used for the conventional fossil-fuel generating plants. The wind turbine generator is modeled by the characteristics of variable output. The optimization is aimed at minimizing the cost function of the system while constraining it to meet the customer demand and safety of micro grid. The operating cost in fuel-cell system includes the fuel costs and the efficiency for fuel to generate electric power. To develop the overall system model gives a possibility to minimize of the total cost of micro grid. The application of optimal operation can save the interruption costs as well as the operating costs, and improve reliability index in micro grid.

  • The present assignment in installing the number of switches for distribution line was made on the basis of a normal feeder capacity 7,000kVA in KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation), Korea. But the normal capacity is revised to 10000kVA in 1998. Even increasing limit of the operating capacity of the distribution lines enables us to give some benefit for the operation flexibility and investment cost of the distribution system. It is disadvantageous in the viewpoint of supply reliability. In distribution systems, switches are equipped to improve the reliability of distribution systems by minimizing the outage section due to fault and maintenance. Utility generally improves the reliability by minimizing the length of outage section, which is caused by fault and maintenance, through switch equipment on distribution system. In order to cope with the changes such as operation capacity, it is necessary to study whether the present criteria is reasonable or not, also to confirm whether the present criteria of installing switches in line is improved or not. In this study, we proposes the number of switch per feeder on the basis of present operation capacity in distribution system.

초고압 지중케이블 장기신뢰성 실증시험장 구축 (Test-Field Construction for Long-term Reliability of EHV Underground Transmission Cable)

  • After the 1970s, the importance of underground transmission systems increased and the construction rate of underground transmission lines also showed increasing trends each year, especially in metropolitan areas. Accordingly the social ripple effects are very large and wide when the fault occurs in underground power system, and the amount of time and money spent to restore the system also increases. So we must ensure stable operation and long-term reliability of the facilities. In Korea's case, long-term reliability tests for EHV power cables and accessories progressed poorly because equipment was not compatible for long-term reliability tests. Therefore we planned to construct a long-term reliability test field for EHV underground cables in order to ensure international quality reliability and optimal power cable operation techniques. The Gochang Underground Cable Test Field is under construction, funded by the Korean government, the govenment's union investment department, KEPCO, KERI and three private cable corporations. This project began in March, 2005 and will be completed by February, 2010. It is designed to promote joint research by incorporating several types of test equipment, construction of operating facilities, and being an internationally certified authority.

  • The importance and necessity conducting studios on grid reliability evaluation have been increasingly important In recent years due to the number of black-out events occurring through in the world. Quantity evaluation of transmission system reliability is very important in a competitive electricity environment. The reason is that the successful operation of electric power under a deregulated electricity market depends on transmission system reliability management. Also in Korea it takes places. The results of many case studios fer the KEPCO system using the Transmission Reliability Evaluation for Large-Scale Systems (TRELSS) Version 6_2, a program developed by EPRI are introduced in this paper. Some sensitivity analysis has been Included in case study. This paper suggests that the some Important input parameters of the TRELSS can be determined optimally from this sensitivity analysis fer high reliability level operation of a system.

  • 철도차량을 구매하는 데 있어서 신뢰성 목표값을 설정하고 차량 납품 시 이 목표값을 달성하였는지 확인하는 것은 전체 차량의 안전성과 가용성 그리고 전수명주기 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 신뢰성을 검증하는 방법은 여러 가지가 있으나 철도차량 자체의 특성과 운영환경 등을 고려하여 가장 적합한 시험방법을 적용할 필요가 있다. 최근 들어 국내에서도 차량 구입시 정량적 신뢰성 요구사항이 일반화되고 있으나 철도차량에 대한 각종 표준이나 지침에서는 정량적 신뢰성 입증에 대한 구체적 방법에 대한 내용은 없다. 본 연구에서는 다른 산업분야에서 활용되는 신뢰성 검증방법에 대해서 기술하고, 이 방법들을 철도차량에 적용할 수 있는 지 평가하였다. 그리고 이중 세 가지 방법을 철도차량의 실제 운영데이터에 적용해 보았다.
