  • In BTL project, the operation cost covering upcoming 20 years is usually alloted more than construction cost although its plan is made in short time. Therefore, it is a key issue to forecast and to analyze operation risks in the process of making contract in order to successfully finish the BTL project and to ensure the profitability of business. However, only a few domestic professional management companies are capable to carry out funding and facility management. To manage the potential risks efficiently in BLT project, it's essential to prioritize the risk factors by means of considering economical risk level, non-economical risk level and occurrence frequency. Thus, this study suggests risk analysis model for improving efficiency of BTL project from operation company's perspective by means of survey. The suggested risk analysis model is expected to establish a risk management strategy which can improve the efficiency of management affairs in BTL project.

  • The efficiency of fabrication (fab) operation is one of the key factors in order for a semiconductor manufacturing company to stay competitive. Optimization of manpower and forecasting manpower needs in a modern fab is an essential part of the future strategic planing and a very important to the operational efficiency. As the semiconductor manufacturing technology has entered the 8-inch wafer era, the complexity of fab operation increases with the increase of wafer size. The wafer handling method has evolved from manual mode in 6-inch wafer fab to semi-automated or fully automated factory in 8-inch and 12-inch wafer fab. The distribution of manpower requirement in each specialty varied as the trend of fab operation goes for downsizing manpower with automation and outsourcing maintenance work. This paper is to study the specialty distribution of manpower from the requirement in a typical 6-inch, 8-inch to 12-inch wafer fab. The human resource planning in today’s fab operation shall consider many factors, which include the stability of technical talents. This empirical study mainly focuses on the human resource planning, the manpower distribution of specialty structure and the forecast model of internal demand/supply in current semiconductor manufacturing company. Considering the market fluctuation with the demand of varied products and the advance in process technology, the study is to design a headcount forecast model based on current manpower planning for direct labour (DL) and indirect labour (IDL) in Taiwan’s fab. The model can be used to forecast the future manpower requirement on each specialty for the strategic planning of human resource to serve the development of the industry.

  • Korea Highway Corporation has played a role of the construction and operation of the highway for the past for 40 years. The private sector since the 90s has made highway construction and operation. Central government and local governments were paid at subsidy in least operating income to 1.5896 trillion won for private operators from 2001 to 2008. Thus, Korea Highway Corporation will have important implications for understanding the cost structure. Korea Highway Corporation, a general analysis of the input element is used efficiently. And the operation of labor and capital estimated highly of the substitution elasticities. Korea Highway Corporation are judged to need financial separation of a strategic outsourcing(business) enabled and the construction(maintenance and management) and business institutions. In addition, currently running at highway the operation of institutions combined to configure a new institution, if that institution invigorate the hi-pass, more of the country's highway believe to be increase operational efficiency.

An Efficiency Analysis on Mutation Operation with TSP solved in Genetic Algorithm

  • Genetic Algorithm(GA) is applied to a problem that could not figure out its solution in a straightway. It is called as NP-hard problem. GA requires a high-performance system to be run on since the high-cost operations are needed such as crossover, selection, and mutation. Moreover, the scale of the problem domain is normally huge. That is why the straightway cannot be applied. To reduce the drawback of high-cost requirements, we try to answer if all the operations including mutation are necessary for all cases. In the experiment, we set up two cases of with/without mutation operations and gather the number of generations and the fitness of a solution. The subject in the experiment is Travelling Salesman Problem(TSP), which is one of the popular problems solved by GA. As a result, the cases with mutation operation are not faster and the solution is fitter than the case with mutation operation. From the result, the conclusion is that mutation operation does not always need for a better solution in a faster way.

  • In this paper, multi-string power balancing system for streetlight was developed. Accordingly, the components of the system was developed, unit converters, MPPT control unit, a bank of Li-ion battery and controls the charging and discharging. Loss by improving the efficiency of the system through the parallel operation of the unit converter output will be reduced. And by improving the efficiency of the system through the unit converter parallel operation, output losses will be reduced. Charging and discharging efficiency of the device used in a typical solar streetlight is calculated based on the maximum power input. Because of the variation of the input power has a weakness. In this paper, flexible to changes in the input, and a system was developed to minimize the cost per watt. Measure the performance of the unit module from the system, the result was more than 91%. And the charging capacity 12 V/105 Ah, module power 180 W, respectively. Should expect to be able to improve performance through continuous monitoring in the future.

  • In order to study the catching efficiency of shrimp trawl equipped with electrodes around the net mouth and stimulant devices attached to the ground rope, an experimental operation was carried out at Oma-Island Shrimp Farm from October 3rd to November 5th, 1970. Many studies have been made on the shrimp trawl with electric stimulant devices, but few can be found for detailed scientific catching methods. Electric power consumption was so excessive that electric stimulant devices could not be developed for commercial purposes. As a first step toward the successive operations of the electric stimulant devices in the field, it is necessary to study fundamental principles, such as electric current, voltage, electric potential, potential difference, electric field and suitable pulse. The behaviour response of the common shrimp, Penaeus japonicus BATE to moving nets and electric stimulant devices were reported in the preceding papers based on the water tank experiments (Ko and Kim, 1970). Through comparative fishing tests the rate of catching efficiency during daylight time was confirmed to be from 89 to 96 per cent of the night catch efficiency, and with 30 V. 1.5 A. electric power was sufficent for practical sea operation.

Energy management strategies of a fuel cell/battery hybrid system using fuzzy logics (퍼지 논리를 이용한 연료전지/축전지 하이브리드 시스템의 운전제어)

  • Hybrid power systems with fuel cells and batteries have the potential to improve the operation efficiency and dynamic response. A proper load management strategy is important to better system efficiency and endurance in hybrid systems. In this paper, a fuzzy logic algorithm has been used to determine the fuel cell output power depending on the external required power and the battery state of charge(SoC). If the required power of the hybrid system is small and the SoC is small, then the greater part of the fuel cell power is used to charge the battery pack. If the required power is relatively big and the SoC is big, then fuel cell and battery are concurrently used to supply the required power. These IF-THEN operation rules are implemented by fuzzy logic for the energy management system of hybrid system. The strategy is evaluated by simulation. The results show that fuzzy logic can be effectively used to optimize the operational efficiency of hybrid system and to maintain the battery SoC properly.

Fabrication and Operation Testing of an Air-cored Pulse Transformer for Charging a High Voltage Pulse Forming Line (고압 펄스 성형라인 충전을 위한 공심형 고압 펄스트랜스의 제작과 동작 특성)

  • A high voltage air-cored helical strip/wire type pulse transformer has been fabricated for charging of a high voltage pulse forming line. As a primary coil, copper strip of 25mm width was wound helically around a MC nylon cylinder. For a secondary coil, copper enameled wire of 1mm diameter was wound around conical cylinder in order to provide insulation between two windings. The coupling coefficient of 0.53 was obtained when two coils were combined coaxially in the insulation oil filled chamber. Voltage gain and energy transfer efficiency were investigated by varying the parameters of primary and secondary circuit. Test results shows that the voltage gain increases up to 17 with increasing the primary capacitance up to 200nF. And highest energy transfer efficiency of 44% was obtained when the dual resonant operation condition was nearly satisfied. The pulse transformer developed in this study can be used for charging the middle conductor of a Blumlein pulse forming line.

  • The maximum power point operation point(MPPOP) of photovoltaic(PV) power generation systems changes with varying atmospheric conditions such as temperature, solar radiation. For achieving a high efficiency in PV system, it is very important for PV system to track the MPPOP correctly according to operation condition. Although the MPPT(maximum power point tracking) algorithm which applied P&O(Perturbation & Observation) or IncCnd(Incremental Conductance) algorithm tracks the MPPOP efficiently, its efficiency drops noticeably in case that the incidence angle of PV panel on buoy changes rapidly. To solve this problem, this paper proposes maximum power point searching and tracking algorithm(MPPST). The proposed algorithm set the specific area and measures the PV voltage at the same interval. The proposed algorithm have been obtained high efficiency than P&O algorithm through ocean experiment.

The Energy Performance & Economy Efficiency Evaluation of Micro Gas Turbine Installed in Hospital (대형병원 건물에 마이크로 가스터빈 적용을 위한 에너지성능 및 경제성 평가)

  • Feasibilities of the application of a micro gas turbine cogeneration system to a large size hospital building are studied by estimating energy demands and supplies. The energy demand for electricity is estimated by surveying and sorting the consumption records for various equipment and devices. The cooling heating, and hot water demands are further refined with TRNSYS and ESP-r to generate load profiles for the subsequent operation simulations. The operation of the suggested cogeneration system in conjunction with the load data is simulated for a time span of a year to predict energy consumption and gain profile. The simulation revealed that the thermal efficiency of the gas turbine is about 30% and it supplies 60% of the electricity required by the building. The recovered heat can meet 56% of total heating load and 67% of cooling, and the combined efficiency reaches up to 70%.
