A Study on the Effects of Injected Air into the Compressor Exit for the Performances of a Turbocharged Diesel Engine (압축기출구에 공기분사가 터보과급 디젤기관의 성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • For the purpose of improving performances of a turbocharged diesel engine at low speed, this study investigates the effects of the injected air for the performances and flow characteristics in the intake and exhaust pipes by using the computer simulation with test bed. In the theoretical analysis, the whole flow system, including engine cylinders and intake and exhaust pipes, is calculated numerically by the method of filling and emptying. From the results of this study, the following conclusions may be summarized. Increasing injected air pressure into the pipe of compressor exit brings about the improvement in a performance and flow characteristics of intake and exhaust pipes under full load operating conditions at 1000 rpm of the engine speed, but shows trends of the inferior performances under no load operating conditions at 2000 rpm of the engine speed.

  • This study was carried out to obtain the operating characteristics of SMMIAR process for biological nitrogenㆍphosphorus removal. SMMIAR was operated at HLR(Hydraulic loading rate) of 39.6, 52.8, 63.4 and 79.2 $\ell$/$m^2$/d respectively and the operating parameters such as intermittent aeration time ratio of aerobic/anoxic, DO and microorganism concentration were changed to confirm the optimum operating condition. The concentrations of the wastewater BOD, TN(Total nitrogen) and TP(Total phosphorus) were 150, 30 and 7.5mg/$\ell$ respectively. Achieving better removal efficiencies of BOD, TN and TP up to 90, 85.4 and 95.4% respectively, we must keep in operation condition of SMMIAR by 0.75 of time ratio of aerobic/anoxic and by minimum 45 minutes of oxic period simultaneously.

  • This paper analyzes the effects of various operating voltages on the electrical and light output characteristics of 20mW(5mm-Ф), 1W and 5W high-power RGB LEDs. Operating voltages of three types are compared on a simple LED circuit: DC, full-wave rectified DC. and square-wave DC. As a result, it is found that the 1W and 5W high-power LEDs should be provided with appropriate heat sinks that hold down the increase of junction temperature. As for the operating efficiency the case of full-wave rectification gives the highest value.

  • We demonstrate the improvement of sensitivity and analysis of operating characteristics of the piezoelectric pressure sensor using ZnO piezoelectric thin film and FET(field effect transistor) for sensing applied pressure and transforming the pressure into electrical signals, respectively. The sensitivity of the PSFET(pressure sensitive field effect transistor) was improved by using highly-oriented ZnO film perpendicular to the substrate surface and the operating characteristics was investigated by monitoring output voltage with time in various static pressure levels.

Effect of Frost and Defrost on the Operating Characteristics of Refrigeration System (착상과 제상이 냉동장치의 운전특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was investigated the effect on operating characteristics of apparatus according to frosting and defrosting to develop of new defrosting equipment. The results showed as following. Frost was almost removed using the defrosting equipment with roll brush type that defrosting is possible under operating condition. Also, the temperature of compressor inlet, evaporator inlet and outlet showed higher value because of heat transfer resistance of cooling pipe frost comparing with defrosting condition. And the compressor work showed 10% lower and COP was presented 24% higher values than defrosting condition. Therefore, defrosting for cooling coil of refrigeration and low temperature storage was effected on operation and performance characteristics of equipment. This highly effects on real refrigeration apparatus which is operated in year-around.

  • We investigate some operation characteristics and energy efficiency of the BLDC motor system driven by different two types power conversion method depends on same battery source for applying to electrical motor propulsion system of a small ship. Also, we suggest an estimation manner of operating performances such as total running distance and operating speed of ships from basic discharge voltage characteristics of batteries. Through some experiments, direct power conversion was better than indirect method on the view point of energy efficiency and the voltage discharge characteristics could be used as important design factor for estimating operating performances of small ships driven by electrical motors.

  • In the present study, the effects of the design factors and operating conditions on flow characteristics of a vane pump for the automotive power steering system has been analyzed numerically. An unsteady moving mesh technique with cell expansion/contraction method is used to simulate the rotation of vanes with respect to stationary inlet and outlet. As a result, the flow characteristics of the flow rate and pressure rise across the vane pump were obtained. The numerical analyses for the various design factors such as number of vanes and thickness between the rotor and camring and for various operating conditions such as rotational speed and pressure difference between inlet and outlet were extensively performed. And the results were discussed in the paper.

  • Although the structure of the brushless DC motor is similar to the one of the permanent magnet synchronous motor, its operating characteristics are the same as those of the permanent magnet DC motor. This is the reason that the commutators and brushes in the permanent magnet DC motor can be replaced by the power semiconductor devices and rotor position sensors for the brushless DC motor. In this paper, a current control method is presented to make a sinusoidal current waveform for constant torque generation and the operating characteristics of the brushless DC motor using the resolver as the rotor position sensor is also presented and experimented.

  • In this study, It is necessary that we should study on more effective use about reciprocating engines because there are huge increase of air pollution. Diesel Engine is operated by injecting fuel directly to combustion chamber with high pressure. Diesel Engine has greater thermal efficiency and durability than Gasoline Engine. Also, Diesel Engine emitted low harmful exhaust witch caused by Gasoline Engine. There are many ways to improve of performance and decrease of harmful exhaust by controlling injection timing, changing amount of fuel and engine speed and so on. Especially, development and application of common rail direct injection Engine cause the increase of thermal efficiency by controlling a various of operating conditions. In this study we analyze characteristics of performance by changing a various of operating conditions.

  • A recent online game is growing with the combined action of content as well as operating services. However, in previous studies, with a lot of focus on content characteristics of game than the game operating service quality studies have been carried out. This study targeted research online sports games, operating service quality and content characteristics of the game are analyzed effects of word-of-mouth and continued usage intention by applying Expectation Confirmation Model. as a result, it has found that as a result, it has found that sense of reality turned out to be a major variable affecting the content of the game even expectation confirmation. Directly and indirectly, it was confirmed that the role of empathy affect to expectation confirmation and satisfaction.
