The Scheduling Algorithm for Operating the Facility of Exhibition and Convention (전시.컨벤션 시설의 합리적 운영을 위한 스케줄링 개발)

  • The research of scheduling algorithms for operating the facility of exhibition and convention can be hardly found in published papers. This study is to find problems in the process of operating the facility of exhibition and convention and to develop the scheduling algorithm satisfying those problems. The scheduling algorithm of this paper is developed through constructing the mathematical model and analyzing the mathematical structure of variables and constraints in that model. The scheduling algorithm developed in this paper consists of the first stage of scheduling, the second stage of feasibility routine and the third stage of improving scheduling results. Some experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the scheduling algorithm developed in this paper.

Current Differential Relaying Algorithm for Power Transformer Protection Operating in Conjunction with a CT Compensating Algorithm (보상 알고리즘을 적용한 변압기 보호용 전류차동 계전방식)

  • Current differential relays may maloperate during magnetic inrush and over-excitation because a significant differential current is produced. To prevent maloperation, the relays adopt some harmonic components included in the differential current. The harmonic restraints may increase the security of a relay but cause the operating time delay of a relay when an internal fault occurs. Moreover, the operating time delay is more increased if a current transformer (CT) is saturated. This paper describes a current differential relaying algorithm for power transformer protection with a compensating algorithm for the secondary current of a CT. The comparative study was conducted with and without the compensating algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithm was investigated when the measurement CT (C400) and the protection CT (C400) are used. The proposed algorithm can compensate the distorted current of a CT and thus reduce the operating time delay of the relay significantly for an internal fault with CT saturation.

  • This paper describes control algorithm and control structure of vehicle control unit for range-extended electric vehicle equipped with engine-generator system, and specially presents methods which determine optimal operating points and decreases a vibration or a shock for operating the engine-generating system. The vehicle control algorithm is consisted of several parts which are sequence control, calculation of wheel demand torque, determination of operating points, and management of operating points and so vehicle controller has be made possible to efficiently manage calibration parameters. The control algorithm is evaluated by driving test modes, launching performance and operating engine-generator system and so on. In conclusion, this paper present methods for extending a mileage, improving a launching performance and reducing vibration or shock when the engine-generating system is starting or is stopping.

  • A system operating algorithm was developed for the effective operation of a multi-type air-conditioning system. The system operating algorithm includes control algorithms for a safety mode, an initial operating mode, a stabilization mode, a fault diagnosis mode, an efficiency mode, and a tracking mode. Various tests were performed to show the effectiveness of these algorithms. Tests showed good results for the operation of a multi-type air-conditioning system. Therefore, these algorithms developed for this study may be used for the effective control of a multi-type air-conditioning system.

  • This paper proposes the new adaptive protection algorithm for inverse-time overcurrent relays (OCRs) to ensure their proper operating time and protective coordination. The application of the proposed algorithm requires digital protection relays with microcontroller and memory. The operating parameters of digital OCRs are adjusted based on the available data whenever system conditions (system with distributed generation (DG)) vary. Moreover, it can reduce the calculation time required to determine the operating parameters for achieving its purpose. To verify its effectiveness, several case studies are performed in time-domain simulation. The results show that the proposed adaptive protection algorithm can keep the proper operating time and provide the protective coordination time interval with fast response.

  • This paper describes the operating software of a motion system developed for a driving simulator, consisting of a six degree of freedom Stewart platform driven hydraulically. The drive logic, consisting of an washout algorithm, inverse kinematic analysis, and a control algorithm, has been developed and applied for creating high fidelity motion cues. The basic environment of the operating software is based on LabVIEW 4.0 and DLL modules compiled by Fortran.

  • We consider a Direct Input Output Manufacturing System(DIOMS) which has a munber of machine centers placed along a built-in Automated Storage/Retrieval System(AS/RS). The Storage/Retrieval (S/R) machine handles parts placed on pallets for the machine centers located at either one or both sides of the As/Rs. This report studies the operational aspect of DIOMS and determines the optimal operating policy by combining computer simulation and genetic algorithm. The operational problem includes: input sequencing control, dispatching rule of the S/R machine, machine center-based part type selection rule, and storage assignment policy. For each operating policy, several different policies are considered based on the known research results. In this report, using the computer simulation and genetic algorithm we suggest a method which gives the optimal configuration of operating policies within reasonable computation time.

  • This paper proposes variable incremental conductance(IC) algorithm for maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic. The conventional perturbation & observation(PO) and IC MPPT control algorithm generally uses fixed step size. A small step size reduces a tracking error in the steady state but slows a tracking speed in the transient state. Also, a large step size is fast a tracking speed but increases a tracking error. Therefore, this paper proposes variable IC MPPT algorithm that adjust automatically step size according to operating conditions. To improve a tracking speed and accuracy, when operating point is far from the maximum power point(MPP), the step size uses maximum value and when a operating point is near from the MPP, the step size uses variable step size that adjust according to slope of P-V curve. The validity of MPPT algorithm proposed in this paper prove through compare with conventional PO and IC MPPT algorithm.

  • A simple and efficient Lambda logic (${\lambda}-logic$) based algorithm is proposed for the solution of the generator constrained economic dispatch problem when the generating units having prohibited zones. The proposed method solves the economic dispatch (ED) problem that takes into account ramprate limits, transmission losses and prohibited operating zones in the power system operation. The proposed method uses a simple heuristic rule based on average power of prohibited operating zones which produces the feasibility of solution for the restricted operating units. The effectiveness of the algorithm is tested on five different test systems and the performance compared with other relevant methods reported in the literature. In all the cases, the proposed algorithm performs better than the previous existing algorithms with a less computational burden.

  • The morphological analysis of wear debris can provide early a failure diagnosis in lubricated moving system. It can be effective to analyze operating conditions of oil-lubricated tribological system with shape characteristics of wear debris in a lubricant. But, in order to predict and recognize an operating condition of lubricated machine, it is needed to analyze and to identify shape characteristics of wear debris. Therefore, If the morphological characteristics of wear debris are recognized by computer image analysis using the neural network algorithm, it is possible to recognize operating condition of hydraulic driving members. In this study, wear debris in the lubricating oil are extracted by membrane filter (0.45 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$), and the quantitative values of shape parameters of wear debris are calculated by the digital image processing. This shape parameters are studied and identified by the artificial neural network algorithm. The result of study could be applied to prediction and to recognition of the operating condition of hydraulic driving members in lubricated machine systems.
