고해상도수치기법에 의한 원형실린더 주위의 3차원 후류유동 특성연구 (High order computation on the three dimensional wakes past a circular cylinder)

  • While the research for flow over a circular cylinder has been actively carried out up to the present, it has been known that the flow has not been clarified even now. Various complex flow and aero-acoustic characteristics exist around a circular cylinder such as flow separation, wake and pressure wave propagation. In this paper, research was carried out for wake flow and aeroacoustics over a circular cylinders by using high order, high resolution techniques that are used in two dimensional aero- acoustic analysis. OpenMP parallel processing method was used. For the numerical result, the periodic characteristic of Strouhal Number due to vortex shedding was comparatively analyzed with other experiment values and two dimensional numerical results.

  • Depth map를 구하는 방법 중 많이 사용되어지는 방법으로 stripe 패턴을 이용하는 방법이 존재한다. 이 방법은 Pro-Cam 시스템을 이용하며 프로젝터로 조사한 패턴을 카메라로 촬영하여 원래의 패턴과 촬영된 패턴간의 기하학적인 관계를 구하여 depth map를 구하는 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같이 구조광을 이용하여 depth map 획득 시스템을 효과적으로 multi-thread를 사용하여 실시간 처리하는 것을 제안한다. 일반적으로 자주 사용되는 multi-threading 기법에는 CPU의 thread를 이용하는 OpenMP와 GPU의 thread를 이용하는 CUDA가 있다. 이 두 가지 기법은 수행하는데 차이점이 존재하기 때문에 상황에 따라 OpenMP가 더 좋은 효율을 보이는 부분이 있고 CUDA가 더 좋은 효율을 보이는 부분이 있다. 때문에 우리는 이 두 가지에 대해서 각 부분의 특성에 맞게 더 좋은 효율을 보이는 multi-thread를 이용하였다. 결과적으로 우리는 $1280{\times}800$의 영상에 대해 25fps 이상의 depth map를 획득하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 지휘무장통제체계(이하 CFCS) 소프트웨어의 성능 향상 기법으로 고성능 컴퓨팅(이하 HPC) 시스템 활용 기법을 제안한다. 이 기법으로 본 논문에서는 HPC 분야인 멀티코어 프로세서를 활용하는 방법을 제안한다. 복잡한 반복연산을 하는 작업이 많은 CFCS의 특정 SW모듈에 대해 멀티코어 프로세싱 아키텍처를 이용한 병렬처리를 적용하여 기존 순차처리 대비 작업실행시간을 단축함으로써 작업 응답시간을 상당히 줄일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 CFCS 시험 환경의 일부 특정 SW모듈 상에서 기존의 순차처리 방식으로 수행한 연산 결과와 다중 처리 프로그래밍 API인 OpenMP를 적용하여 수행한 연산 결과를 비교하여 CFCS에서의 멀티코어 프로세싱이 체계 전반의 성능 향상 면에서 효율적으로 사용될 수 있음을 보인다.

Full Search Equivalent Motion Estimation Algorithm for General-Purpose Multi-Core Architectures

  • Motion estimation is a key technique of modern video processing that significantly improves the coding efficiency significantly by exploiting the temporal redundancy between successive frames. Thread-level parallelism is a promising method to accelerate the motion estimation process for multithreading general-purpose processors. In this paper, we propose a parallel motion estimation algorithm which parallelizes the motion search process of the current H.264/AVC encoder. The proposed algorithm is implemented using the OpenMP application programming interface (API) and can be easily integrated into the current encoder. The experimental results show that the proposed parallel algorithm can reduce the processing time of the motion estimation up to 65.08% without any penalty in the rate-distortion (RD) performance.

Effect of Curvature on the Detonation Wave Propagation Characteristics in Annular Channels

  • Present study examines the detonation wave propagation characteristics in annular channel. A normalized value of channel width to the annular radius was considered as a geometric parameter. Numerical approaches used in the previous studies of detonation wave propagation were extended to the present study with OpenMP parallelization for multicore SMP machines. The major effect of the curved geometry on the detonation wave propagation seems to be a flow compression effect, regardless of the detonation regimes. The flow compression behind the detonation wave by the curved geometry of the circular channel pushes the detonation wave front and results in the overdriven detonation waves with increased detonation speed beyond the Chapmann-Jouguet speed. This effect gets stronger as the normalized radius smaller, as expected. The effect seems to be negligible beyond the normalized radius of 10.

  • Today's computers, desktops and laptops were build with multi-core architecture. Developing and running serial programs in this multi-core architecture fritters away the resources and time. Parallel programming is the only solution for proper utilization of resources available in the modern computers. The major challenge in the multi-core environment is the designing of parallel algorithm and performance analysis. This paper describes the design and performance analysis of parallel algorithm by taking the Knight Tour problem as an example using OpenMP interface. Comparison has been made with performance of serial and parallel algorithm. The comparison shows that the proposed parallel algorithm achieves good performance compared to serial algorithm.

  • A number of sedative alkaloids were isolated from Sanjoin(酸棗仁), the seeds of Zizyphus vulgaris Lamark var. spinosus Bunge (Rhamnaceae) which is an important Chinese medicinal material used to treat insomnia and sometimes to treat sleepiness. Those compounds were designated as Sanjoinine-A, B, C, D, etc. depending on the order of increasing polarity. The heat treatment of the cyclic peptide alkaloids produced their isomeric products which showed enhanced sedative activity. The chemical structure of the isomeric products will be discussed.
