  • Universities that previously targeted in 20s have recently diversified their operation methods, founding purposes, and target. With a significant decrease in the school-age population relative to the number of universities, universities are making their best efforts to secure new students and minimize student attrition. In this study, an online survey was conducted to empirically examine the effects of motivation for major selection and sense of belonging on learning persistence intention among students in beauty-related departments at 2-year and 4-year general universities and cyber universities. The collected data from 119 students at general universities and 113 students at cyber universities were analyzed using SPSS 28. The key findings can be summarized as follows: For general universities, motivation for major selection did not have a significant effect on learning persistence intention, but sense of belonging had a significant positive effect. Additionally, an interaction effect was observed, indicating that as the sense of belonging increased, extrinsic motivation significantly increased learning persistence intention. For cyber universities, intrinsic motivation and sense of belonging among motivations for major selection had a significant positive effect on learning persistence intention, while the moderating effect of sense of belonging in the relationship between motivation for major selection and learning persistence intention was not significant. In summary, for general universities, the factor that influenced students' learning persistence intention was a sense of belonging to the university, while for cyber universities, intrinsic motivation played a significant role. These findings are expected to provide meaningful insights and data for universities to develop effective policies for preventing student attrition.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of viewing online audiovisual dietary-related broadcast, or Cookbang, by university students. The association between the viewing degree of Cookbang and students' dietary habits was also evaluated. Based on the degree of Cookbang viewing, we divided the participants into a frequently-watched group, a moderately-watched group, and a not-watched group. The frequently watched group showed significantly higher 'watch them for more than 4 days a week (p<.001)', and 'watch them for more than 1 hour a day (p<.01)'. The frequently watched group were significantly higher in 'got better influence on dietary life (p<.05)', 'eat alone (p<.05)', and 'cook on their own (p<.01)'. Concerning dietary habit, the group that frequently watched Cookbang had a significantly higher frequency of the following answers: 'Take vegetables other than kimchi every meal (p<.01)', 'Have fruits every day (p<.001)', 'Do not eat the processed food often (p<.05)', 'Do not eat animal fat often (p<.05)', 'Do not eat out often (p<.05)', 'Do not drink the alcohol too much (p<.05)', and 'General food habit(p<.05)'. In summary, university students who frequently-watched Cookbang showed a higher level of desirable dietary habits. Therefore, the results of this study can serve as basic data for research and education related to the dietary habits of university students.

  • This study is expected to be of significance in that it attempted to examine the personal information protection awareness of college students and the state of their personal information protection as prospective information processors and private information owners to boost their will to put private information protection in practice. As a result of making an analysis, the most common average time that the students spent in doing every online activity on weekdays was fewer than two or three hours, and the most dominant activities that they did over the Internet were for entertainment or hobbies. As for awareness of the nature of the Internet, they looked upon it as a quite open public space. Regarding the state of private information protection, they thought that changing passwords on a regular basis would be beneficial to personal information protection, and many thought that it's needed to withdraw from or shut down web sites that weren't used for a long time. In terms of actual practice, however, they didn't change their e-mail passwords regularly on the grounds that it's a hassle, and even the students who had experience of personal information leakage didn't report it or didn't ask for counsel on the grounds that they didn't want to be bothered as well. The majority of the students weren't cognizant of how to report or seek counsel. In the future, personal information protection should be educated on a continual basis as part of curriculum to raise awareness of it among students and boost their will to practice it with a sense of responsibility in an effort to prevent the occurrence of collateral damages triggered by personal information leakage.

As a result of the study, first, among college students' motivation to participate in weight training, the health-oriented type and self-development type had a positive effect on voluntary acceptance. Second, among the motives for participating in weight training, the home-oriented type was found to have a negative effect on opportunistic acceptance. Finally, voluntary acceptance had a positive effect on learning outcomes, and opportunistic acceptance had a negative effect on learning outcomes. Using the results of this study, it is expected that it will be helpful to understand the factors and policies in promoting the physical health of college students.

The subjects of the study were 155 nursing students, and data were collected using an online survey method. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression using the IBM SPSS Statistics 26. Higher attitude toward care of dying (B=.312) had a statistically significant positive effect on empathy capacity (p<.010). The variables that affected nursing students' empathy capacity were end-of-life experiences of relatives (𝛽=.226) and attitude toward care of dying (𝛽=.220). The regression model was statistically significant (F=6.968, p<.001), explained 10.4% of empathy. This study is expected to be used as basic data for the development of programs to strengthen the empathy capacity of nursing students in the future.
