This study aims at comparison and analyzing of marine officer license system for fishing vessels between South Korea and New Zealand. It is urgently required to establish Republic of Korea-New Zealand mutual certification system for marine officers who are on board ships within applicable area given that New Zealand will force foreign fishing vessels within New Zealand area to reflag from 2016 in accordance with the amendment of Fisheries Act. Secondly, to compare and analyze systems between two countries will contribute to the preparatory work related to ratification STCW-F convention as New Zealand already have completed law amendment to adapt the convention. Maritime law of New Zealand, Seafarers Act and Ship Personnel Act of Republic of Korea were compared and analyzed as references. The result showed that an improvement to corresponding level to the international convention and development of safety training by vessel type, and job descriptions according to the license class are needed to Republic of Korea system. Furthermore, it is suggested to prepare specialized training for deckhands as required in STCW-F convention and standard fishing vessel officer training record for designated institute of education. Therefore institutional complementarity and framework is required as it is expected that the nations of fishing in piscary demand to reflag Korean deep-sea fishing vessels or to ratify the STCW-F convention.

Objectives: Despite greater access to training positions and the presence of more women in emergency medicine, it has remained a men-dominated field. This study aims to identify the key issues causing the gender gap in Korea and establish measures to overcome them. Methods: Using the annual statistical reports of the National Emergency Medical Center and data published on the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine website, cases that listed the current status and positions of members in its organization and its committees were analyzed. Secondary analysis was conducted using data from the 2015 Korean Society of Emergency Survey that included physicians' demographics, academic ranking, years of experience, clinical work hours, training and board certification, core faculty status, position, and salaries. Results: As of September 2019, women account for only 12.7% of the total number of emergency physicians (EP) in Korea; of 119 chair/vice-chair academic positions, women represented only 9.2%. Women EP were more often assistant professors and fellowship-trained, with fewer in core faculty. However, they worked the same numbers of clinical hours as their men counterparts. The median annual salary of women EP was less than that of men EP after adjusting for academic hospital rank, clinical hours, and core faculty status. Conclusions: A gender gap still exists among Korean EP, and women earn less than men regardless of their rank, clinical hours, or training. Future studies should evaluate more data and develop system-wide practices to eliminate gender disparities.

For the better success in the society, it is important to collect opinions from members. The progress was slow before because it was hard to collect the opinions from each member. But since we have opened the web site it gets easier to evolve with the society for microsurgery, and expect to have active participations from the members. We make 20 questions in three different groups. The researches are made on participation, development in science council that starting from 2005 October to 2007 June, education on training with member's preference to thesis and individuality and suggestion. Thus we have results following to that research. 1.75% of the members vote for the lecture has to be substantial, and also want the atmosphere of the council to be more sincere. 46.2% of members want the council to be not only exchange information but also the place to experience the social intercourse. 2. When the thesis is present and submitted that will also connect to main society. It will be counted as equal as board thesis, only if the thesis can count in both plastic & reconstructive surgery and orthopedic surgery. Then it will be scored as same as examination of board, and will be a receipt of paper by home page 3. The information-oriented project on our council is slower than what members expected. 100% of members voted yes to online thesis examination, and 66.7% of members voted for preference of web site. We need to make improvements on our web pages as soon as possible such as online payment with credit card. 4. According to the result of questionnaire, our web site helps member's participation in council and eventually become a bridge between members. We hope the questionnaires would help us to develop the council and eventually would help us to society with each other in the council. We also hope this council would be the one that connect all of us in society.

This paper describes development of automatic flight control system for an unmanned target drone which is operated by Korean army as for anti-air gun shooting training. Current target drone is operated by pilot control of on-board servo motor via remote control system. Automatic flight control system for the target drone greatly reduces work load of ground pilot and can increase application area of the drone. Most UAVs being operated now days use high-priced sensors as AHRS and IMU to measure the attitude, but those are costly. This paper introduces the development of low-cost automatic flight control system with low-cost sensors. The integrated automatic flight control system has been developed by integrating combining power module, switching module, monitoring module and RC receiver as an one module. The performance of automatic flight control system is verified by flight test.

The aim of this study was to identify production difficulties of Korean learners of English in their articulation of English bilabial stops /p, b/ and labiodental fricatives /f, v/. Sixty non-sense syllables and twelve words were produced three times by nine graduate students. Test scores were measured from the score board made by FluSpeak, a speech training software program, which was designed for English pronunciation practice and improvement. Results show that 1) the subjects had lower scores in producing /p, b/ than /f, v/ from all positions, and 2) subjects had lower scores in medial (inter-vocalic) position than in initial (pre-vocalic) position and in final (post-vocalic) position when they produced /p/, /b/, /f/, and /v/. The results suggest that on the whole, Korean learners of English have much difficulty in producing /b/ and that they also have more articulatory problems in intervocalic than in the other positions when they produce these bilabial stops and labiodental fricatives.

A very simple control approach using neural network for the robust position control of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) is presented The linear quadratic controller plus feedforward neural network is employed to obtain the robust PMSM system approximately linearized using field-orientation method for an AC servo. The neural network is trained in on-line phases and this neural network is composed by a fedforward recall and error back-propagation training. Since the total number of nodes are only eight this system can be easily realized by the general microprocessor. During the normal operation the input-output response is sampled and the weighting value is trained multi-times by error back-propagation method at each sample period to accommodate the possible variations in the parameters or load torque. And the state space analysis is performed to obtain the state feedback gains systematically. IN addition the robustness is also obtained without affecting overall system response. This method is realized by a floating-point Digital Singal Processor DS1102 Board (TMS320C31) The basic DSP software is used to write C program which is compiled by using ANSI-C style function prototypes.

Results show that 1) the subjects had lower scores in producing /g/ than /dg/ and /z/ from all positions, and 2) subjects had lower scores in inter-vocalic position than in pre-vocalic position and in post-vocalic position when they produced /dg/, /g/, and /z/. Ship manoeuvring simulator has been widely utilized for training mariners, for assessing safety, for developing harbour and port, and for designing ships. We discuss a ship manoeuvring simulator which has been newly developed by Korea Maritime University. The simulator consists of simulator bridge and control console. All the computers used in the simulator are connected with one another by UDP or TCP network system. All the instruments are connected with interface computer by signal line which is controlled by RS232 communication protocol, or by voltage controlled A/D board. Next the mathematical model of ship manoeuvring motion in harbour areas, and ship and terrain modeling technique are also briefly discussed. Finally using the simulator an experiment of distance cognition and a simulation example of berthing/deberthing manoeuvre are shown.

유용한 영어 교육을 위한 어플은 강의실 컴퓨터를 위해 모바일 장치를 무선 원격 시스템으로 즉각적인 변환을 가능하게 한다. 일단 강의실 주 컴퓨터에 무료 소프트웨어를 설치하면 학생들이 power point를 이용하여 컴퓨터 통제를 위한 모바일 장치에 Air mouse를 갖도록 한다. 이를 이용하여 학생들은 board위에 글이나 그림을 그릴수 있으며 그들의 앉은 자리에서 학습 자료를 구동할 수 있게 된다. 영어공부는 학문연구가 아니라 언어 훈련이라는 점에서 지금까지의 영어 학습이 단순한 학습대상으로 먼저 인식하여 의사소통의 도구가 아닌 학교 성적이나 토익, 토플 시험을 위한 학습 대상이 되었다는 점에서 그동안 영어의 학습의 문제점으로 지적되어 왔다. 본 연구는 수동적인 학습 환경에서 흥미와 동기부여를 가지고 자발적인 학습을 위해 Podcast, Apps 등 여러 매체를 이용하여 일정 학습 한도를 정하여 꾸준히 학습 할 수 있는 쉽고 재미있는 영어 학습 중 모바일, VOD영어 학습 컨텐츠, 리얼 영화 스크립트를 이용한 미드 영어 등 여러 어플을 이용한 영어 학습방법을 제시하고자 한다.

최근 우리나라 해기교육대학은 제3국 해기사의 국적선 승선, 국제경쟁력의 약화, 3D업종의 취업 및 이공계 기피현상 등과 같은 교육 환경 변화로 인하여 큰 어려움에 직면하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 교육환경 변화에 능동적으로 대처함으로써 21세기 해양혁명의 시대에 필요한 우수한 해기인력을 양성할 수 있는 효율적인 방안을 모색하기 위하여 한국해양대학교 해사대학 재학생을 대상으로 입학, 학업, 대학생활, 승선실습 및 진로선택의 5개 과정에 대하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 학생들의 변화된 의식구조 및 학교생활풍토를 파악하여 현 해기교육시스템의 문제점을 도출하고 그 해결 방향을 검토하였다.
