다중효용-흡착 방식 담수화 시스템의 가용도 분석 (Availability Analysis on the Multi-Effect Distillation and Adsorptive Desalination Process)

  • Due to climate change and population growth, water scarcity is getting worse all over the world. Among various methods for desalination of seawater, the Multi-Effect Adsorptive Desalination method, which combines the existing Multi-Effect Desalination method and the Adsorptive Desalination method and can produce high-concentration-high-concentration freshwater, is emerging. Because the Multi-Effect Adsorptive Desalination method combines the two different methods, the system becomes complicated and the possibility of failure increases. Therefore, in this study, availability analysis was performed on the Multi-Effect Adsorptive Desalination process. A total of four types of reliability block diagrams were presented, and availability analysis was conducted based on them. The first form of a reliability block diagram is configured in series without any redundancy. The availability of the reliability block diagram composed of the serial system was found to be lower than the required availability. In order to increase availability, the redundancy to pumps and boiler are added to system. As a result of availability analysis, it was confirmed that designing desalination systems with redundancy to pump meets the 93% availability, which is typically required availability for various plants.

서해상과 연안지역의 풍력기상자원 비교평가 (Comparative Assessment of Wind Resources Between West Offshore and Onshore Regions in Korea)

  • Characteristics of wind resources of offshore and coastal regions were compared using wind data obtained from HeMOSU-1 (Herald of Meteorological and Oceanographic Special Unit-1) meteorological mast located at Southwestern Sea, and ground-based LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) at Gochang observation site near it. The analysis includes comparison of basic wind statistics such as mean wind speed, wind direction, power law exponent and their temporal variability as well as site assessment items for the wind power plant such as turbulence intensity and wind power density at the two observation sites. It was found that the wind at HeMOSU-1 site has lower diurnal and seasonal variability than that at Gochang site, which lead to smaller turbulence intensity. Overall, the results of the comparative analysis show that the wind resource at HeMOSU-1 site located offshore has more favorable condition for wind power generation than the wind resource at Gochang which shows nature of coastal area.

해양플랜트 폭발사고 방지를 위한 가스감지기 위치 선정 방법 연구 (Development of Gas Detector Location Index Technique to Prevent Explosion Accidents of Offshore Plant)

  • Release of hazardous and flammable gas is a significant contributor to risk. The ignition of flammable gas clouds can lead to explosion accidents in the offshore installations. A gas detector, which is one of active protect systems, brings the module into a safe state through emergency shut down processes and reduces the damage by eliminating the dangerous releases. It is critical to understand the gas release, the wind field, and the complex geometry of installations to determine gas detector placement. In this paper, the Gas detector Location Index (GLI) which is a novel index for optimal detector location determination to efficiently prevent explosion accident using probabilistic approach.

해상풍력자원 예측을 위한 NCAR데이터 적용 타당성 연구 (Validation study of the NCAR reanalysis data for a offshore wind energy prediction)

  • Predictions of wind speed for six different near-shore sites were made using the NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research) wind data. The distances between the NCAR sites and prediction sites were varied between 40km and 150km. A well-known wind energy prediction program, WindPRO, was used. The prediction results were compared with the measured data from the AWS(Automated Weather Stations). Although the NCAR wind data were located far away from the AWS sites, the prediction errors were within 9% for all the cases. In terms of sector-wise wind energy distributions, the predictions were fairly close to the measurements, and the error in predicting main wind direction was less than $30^{\circ}$. This proves that the NCAR wind data are very useful in roughly estimating wind energy in offshore or near-shore sites where offshore wind farm might be constructed in Korea.

선박 해양용 본질안전 LED 방폭 조명 표준화를 위한 가이드 개발 연구 (A Guideline on Development of LED Convergence Intrinsic Safety Luminaire for Marine Plants & Ships and It's Standard)

  • Offshore plants should be managed at a high level of safety condition. Because the offshore plant has cramped space and has difficult access when a fire occurred, a fire can be critical to the plants. LED lighting can reduce the risk of fire by its lower energy consume suitable to intrinsic safety and lower heat radiation that can reduce the possibility of ignition. Also LED has a long lifetime. Though LED luminaire has various advantages for offshore plants, an international standard for the luminaire has not provided because it is new technology. Because there is no international and domestic standard specially provided for the LED luminaire, a guideline is required for developing the LED light and for the future establishment of an international standard. This study was conducted to develop the guideline for LED luminaire for offshore plants. Firstly, relevant standards were analyzed for the guideline. Then we found that there are editorial differences between international standards and domestic standards. So the guideline was developed based on international version and the differences between the domestic and international standard were provided to let Korean developers recognize the differences.

3D CAD 모델 기반 해양플랜트 배관 공정 모니터링 시스템 개발 (A Development of Offshore plant Piping Process Monitoring System Based on 3D CAD Model)

  • 3D CAD 시스템으로 설계된 해양플랜트 배관재 모델들은 2D 배관 제작도와 설치도의 형태로 생산 공정에 제공되고, 기본 엔지니어링 정보와 함께 통합 공정관리시스템에서 원자재의 구매, 조달, 제작, 설치 및 검사가 체계적으로 관리되어 진행된다. 기존의 통합 공정관리시스템은 자원의 흐름 및 진행 상황을 체계적으로 관리하여 공정 시수 절감에 많은 기여를 하고 있지만, 3D 설계 형상 모델 정보를 포함하고 있지 않기 때문에 배관 설치 작업 전에 복잡한 배관 구조를 파악하거나, 잦은 설계 변경으로 인해 연관된 도면을 찾을 때 상호간 신속한 정보 교류가 어려운 단점을 가지고 있었다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 3D 모델을 기반으로 하는 해양플랜트 배관 공정 모니터링 시스템을 개발하였다. 본 시스템은 3D 모델 기반 배관 모니터링 시스템은 Visual Studio 2017 C#과 UNITY3D를 기반으로 배관 공정 작업 정보가 3D CAD 모델과 실시간 연동될 수 있도록 구성하였다. 그리고 블록, 크기, 재료에 따른 배관 설치 공정 진행 흐름 뿐만 아니라, 청소, 수압검사, 공압검사 등 기능 검사 항목별 진행 흐름을 3D 모델상에서 실시간으로 확인할 수 있도록 하였다. 작업자는 개발된 시스템을 통해 생산 현장에서 실시간으로 배관 공정 진행 흐름을 포함한 3D CAD 모델을 쉽게 파악함으로써 작업 효율성 향상에 많은 기여를 할 것으로 기대된다.

고소작업 사고 시나리오 기반 웨어러블 응용 HSE 시스템 안전관리 방안 (HSE System Safety Management Using Wearable Based on Accident Scenario of High Place Work)

  • 본 논문에서는 조선해양 작업장에서 발생하는 중대재해를 줄이고 체계적인 안전관리를 위하여 ETA(event tree analysis)기반 시나리오 도출 및 ICT 기술접목을 통한 안전관리 구축방안을 제안한다. 안전보건공단과 (구)국민안전처의 통계결과 조선해양 관련 중대재해 중 가장 많이 발생하는 사고유형은 떨어짐이고, 주요사고원인은 안전대 미착용 및 안전대 고리 미체결이다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 ETA기반의 시나리오를 작성하여 안전사항에 따른 결과를 도출하고 이 결과를 바탕으로 사고예방을 위한 ICT 기술접목으로 해결방안을 제시한다. ETA 기반 시나리오 도출 및 ICT 기술접목을 통해 제안한 해결방안으로는 안전대 및 안전모 착용여부 감지시스템, 안전대 고리 체결여부 감지시스템, 안전거리 측정을 위한 걸이설비 측정시스템이다. 안전사항별 시스템을 통해 작업자의 떨어짐 위험을 줄여 사망확률을 낮출 수 있다. 제안한 방안을 통해 사고를 예방함으로써 조선해양 분야의 중대재해를 줄이고 체계적인 안전관리를 도모한다.

Vibration-based structural health monitoring for offshore wind turbines - Experimental validation of stochastic subspace algorithms

  • The efficiency of wind turbines (WT) is primarily reflected in their ability to generate electricity at any time. Downtimes of WTs due to "conventional" inspections are cost-intensive and undesirable for investors. For this reason, there is a need for structural health monitoring (SHM) systems, to enable service and maintenance on demand and to increase the inspection intervals. In general, monitoring increases the cost effectiveness of WTs. This publication concentrates on the application of two vibration-based SHM algorithms for stability and structural change monitoring of offshore WTs. Only data driven, output-only algorithms based on stochastic subspace identification (SSI) in time domain are considered. The centerpiece of this paper deals with the rough mathematical description of the dynamic behavior of offshore WTs and with the basic presentation of stochastic subspace-based algorithms and their application to these structures. Due to the early stage of the industrial application of SHM on offshore WT on the one side and the required confidentiality to the plant manufacturer and operator on the other side, up to now it is not possible to analyze different isolated structural damages resp. changes in a systematic manner, directly by means of in-situ measurement and to make these "acknowledgements" publicly available. For this reason, the sensitivity of the methods for monitoring purposes are demonstrated through their application on long time measurements from a 1:10 large scale test rig of an offshore WT under different conditions: undamaged, different levels of loosened bolt connections between tower parts, different levels of fouling, scouring and structure inclination. The limitation and further requirements for the approaches and their applicability on real foundations are discussed along the paper.

교육용 해양플랜트 Rig 굴착 시뮬레이션 구현 (The Implementation of Drilling Simulation for Offshore Rig Education)

  • 본 논문은 해양구조물 rig의 굴착시스템의 하부 부분의 3차원 모델링과 굴착과정의 시뮬레이션에 있다. 최근 조선사들은 높은 부가가치성과 신조의 감소로 인해 해양구조물 rig에 관심이 집중되고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 경우 해양구조물 rig의 기본 설계, 설치 및 운영은 외국회사들이 수행하고 있다. 따라서 굴착에 대한 지식과 정보를 얻기가 쉽지 않다. 본 논문에서는 해양구조물 rig의 핵심장비로 굴착장비, 폭발방지장치인 BOP, 시멘트 작업 및 머드 순환 장치 관련 장비들을 포함하였다. 이들의 구조와 기능은 객체지향기술 관점에서 분석하였다. 이 분석에 기초하여 3차원 소프트웨어 도구인 CATIA와 3DVIA Composer 를 이용하여 이 장비들을 모델링하였다. 굴착과정은 굴착작업의 시나리오에 따라 시뮬레이션되었다. 이 시뮬레이션 시스템은 해양플랜트 산업분야의 엔지니어와 학생들에게 교육도구로 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.

해양 공사 EPC 견적용 중량 추산 방법에 관한 기초 연구 (A Preliminary Study on a Method for the Weight Estimation and Calculation of Offshore EPC Projects)

  • There are several existing studies for the weight estimation of offshore plants. However, most of them were applicable at the pre-FEED (Front End Engineering Design) stage. In this paper, a preliminary study on a method for the weight estimation and calculation of offshore EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) projects is made for the use at the estimation stage after FEED. Based on literature surveys including ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 19901-5 about weight estimation, we proposes new weight factors and a weight curve. Weight factors defined in this study include MTO (Material Take-Off), estimated weight, FEED maturity factor, allowance factor, and contingency factor. The proposed method utilizes bottom-up approach for weight estimation and it can be used for the weight estimation and calculation of offshore EPC projects at the estimation stage.
