  • Object Oriented Programming Languages including Java require Object-oriented thinking first for programming. However, for Korean students it is not easy since they are fully accustomed to Korean language which does not have the Object-oriented concept. This paper proposes a way of teaching the Object Oriented Languages to Korean students. It explains first how to organize our thoughts in Object-oriented way, and then how to express the thoughts with the languages.

  • The educational courses for the procedural-oriented and object-oriented programming languages have been prepared respectively in many universities. However, the comparison of two languages has not been shown in the same class. In this paper, we compared two distinctive languages, C and Java, and developed a new class material and the relating web contents, through which those who are interested may maximize their understanding and programming skills based on the different programming language.

  • In this paper, we try to explore basic factors that defines easy-to-learn programming language and easy-to-learn development environments for novice students who have not been exposed to computer programming language education. For these purpose, we investigate and analyze computer programming languages that are widely used in industrial environments, and present the summary and analyzed results. From the experimental results, most novice programmers understand computer programming languages in terms of procedural programming languages rather than in terms of functional programming languages or object oriented programming languages. Furthermore, we have found that, for effective education of basic level programming languages, factors of development environments are much more important than factors of programming paradigms that the computer programming languages are based on.

  • The object-oriented programming languages are widely used in the modern software engineering. The procedural type FEM codes are still used because it is very hard and cost consuming job to re-code them into object-oriented programs. In this study, a FEM program was newly designed and coded with C++, an object-oriented language. Also a special programming technique, auto-loading technique was developed for open structured program, with which the extension and maintenance can be carried out easily. For example, the additions of element libraries to an existence FEM program do not require any modifications of the program.

  • The philosophy of object-oriented has found its role in various applications such as programming languages, databases, distributed systems, etc. Discussed in this paper is an experience of the object-oriented programming technique obtained while developing a particular CAD/CAM system. It has been well-known that the object-oriented programming language has good features enabling the improved reusability and extensibility of an existing code. The features include data abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and so on. This paper presents how these features of the object-oriented programming language, C++ in particular, can be applied to the implementation of geometric algorithms as well as graphical user interfaces.

  • The fundamental reason why inheritance anomaly occurs is that for a concurrent object, when synchronization code is not properly separated from the method code, the extension of code to produce a derived class may force the change of both the synchronization code and the method code in the super class, and inheritance is integrated inheritance in a simple and satisfactory way within a concurrent object-oriented language. The main emphasis on how to avoid or minimize inheritance anomaly. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new model, object model, and will minimizes the problem of inheritance anomaly found in concurrent object-oriented programming languages using Behavior Equation.

  • As the computer becomes pervasive in everyday life, the programming arises as an essential technique. To support the education of programming, Republic of Korea has launched a plan to develop the official courses of programming by 2018. However, the programming education in Korea tends to be difficult and the students easily lose their concentration since most of programming languages are based on English. This paper proposes a Korean programming language called Saesark to promote the effective programming education for Korean students. Saesark has been developed based on Java, which supports the object-oriented programming and the lambda expressions. In order to evaluate the educational suitability of Saesark, we compared it with other Korean programming languages in three respects: syntactic features, IDE support, and error messages in Korean. According to the comparison, Saesark is revealed more suitable than other languages. Specifically, the IDE features and the error messages in Korean are expected to be mostly valuable in educating novice programmers.

  • There have been numerous researches in minimizing the total cost of program development in order to improve productivity of the programs. The incremental evaluation is the evaluation method of reevaluating only affected parts instead of reevaluating overall program when the program has been changed. Since the incremental evaluation method carries its advantage, the method itself is very important when considering the execution efficiency of the program developing environment. This paper extends the dependency chart for an imperative language and presents the extended version of dependency chart which can be applied to the Object Oriented Programming Languages such 'Java'. This paper also presents the incremental evaluation algorithm for Object Oriented Programming Languages and proves its correctness, analyzing the efficiency of incremental evaluation by the simulation.

  • The students who learn the computer languages think it very difficult to program using the text-based programming languages and also to learn the object-oriented programming. Therefore, we introduce the object-oriented visual programming into the programming education. And, to solve the this problem in the programming education, in this paper, we introduce the UML to support the object-oriented modeling and to teach the students using the LabVIEW OOP that supports the object-oriented visual programming. And, we propose to apply it on the embedded programming education. Also, we analyze the educational effect of the proposed education methodology of programming based on the student survey.

  • In this paper we introduce a new style multiparadigm language named Argos which applies a compositional approach [20] to multiparadigm programming. Argos is a superset of the Java, and its grammar has an extension point which allows other languages to be used in Argos programs. Therefore, Argos can support object-oriented programming and multiparadigm programming by enabling each method in a class to be implemented with one of the Java, C, Prolog, Python, and XML languages. Since Argos allows the existing languages to be used, it has advantages such as easiness of learning and high reusability. The Argos compiler is implemented according to the delegating compiler object (DCO) model[28,29]. The compiler partitions a program Into several parts according to the languages used in methods and delivers the parts the languages' processors which compile the parts.
