A Study of Software Optimal Release Time for Based on Superposition NHPP Model (중첩 NHPP 모형에 근거한 소프트웨어 최적방출시기에 관한 연구)

  • Decision problem called an optimal release policies, after testing a software system in development phase and transfer it to the user, is studied. The applied model of release time exploited infinite non-homogeneous Poisson process. This infinite non-homogeneous Poisson process is a model which reflects the possibility of introducing new faults when correcting or modifying the software. The failure life-cycle distribution used superposition which has various intensity, if the system is complicated. Thus, software release policies which minimize a total average software cost of development and maintenance under the constraint of satisfying a software reliability requirement becomes an optimal release policies. In a numerical example, after trend test applied and estimated the parameters using maximum likelihood estimation of inter-failure time data, estimated software optimal release time. Through this study, in terms of superposition model and simply model, the optimal time to using superposition model release the software developer to determine how much could count will help.

OPTIMIZATION ON VEHICLE FUEL CONSUMPTION IN A HIGWAY BUS USING VEHICLE SIMULATION

  • This paper presents a numerical approach to optimizing vehicle fuel economy in a higway bus. The method described is based on using a commercial software vehicle simulation to identify the relative efficiency of each of the vehicle systems, such as the engine hardware, engine software calibration, transmission, cooling system and ancillary drives. The simulation-based approach offers a detailed understanding of which vehicle systems are underperforming and by how much the vehicle fuel economy can be improved if those systems are brought up to best-in-class performance. In this way, the optimum vehicle fuel economy can be provided to the vehicle customer. A further benefit is that the simulation requires only a minimum number of vehicle testing for initial validation, with all subsequent field test cycles performed in software, thereby reducing development time and cost for the manufacturer.

  • An experimental method to identify the rigid properties (mass, moment of inertia, center of mass) of mounted structures is presented. A direct system identification method is developed and applied to identify the mass, damping and stiffness martix directly from the translational response of vibration testing. Conventional method is sensitive to noise since it needs artificial rotational response of temporary center of mass which is made by the linear transformation of translational response. A presented method needs only the translational response, and it is robuster to noise than conventional method. Several experimental and numerical implementations show the presented method is effective.

  • The cumulative function of the noncentral t distribution calculate power in testing equality of means of two normal populations and confidence intervals for the ratio of population mean to standard deviation. In this paper, the evaluation of the cumulative function of noncentral t distribution is applied to the neural network consists of the multi-layer perception structure and learning process has the algorithm of the backpropagation. Numerical comparisons are made between the Fisher's values and the results obtained by neural network theory.

  • The characteristics of a disk-loaded cylindrical dipole (DLCD) antenna that determine its performance are analyzed by using the method of moments. The current integral equation that is considered with extended boundary condition is derived. Numerical results for the input impedance and radiation pattern of the antenna are presented. The antenna factor with the antenna gain is computed to check the possibility of using this antenna as the broadband antenna for the special case in such as electromagnetic compatibility testing. The comparisons of the computed results with measured data are made. These results will allow this antenna to be used with confidence in various applications.

  • In this study, wedge splitting tensile test(WST) using dye penetration method was carried out to investigate cracking criterion and fracture characteristics of concrete. For the this purpose, three levels of compressive strength of 180, 300 and 600 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and five testing age of 1, 3, 7, 14 and 28 days were selected as test variables. The specimen was loaded in a controlled manner and then dye was inserted at the load of 40%, 70% of the presumed peak load and at the load of 90% just after peak load. The fracture process zone was measured at each load step of a specimen. Test results were compared with analytic results by linear elastic fracture mechanics(LEFM) and numerical results through fictitious crack model(FCM) and finite element method(FEM).

  • The reel-lay method of submarine pipelines a continuous string of pipe coiled onto a reel. Assembly of this pipe that is string is accomplished onshore by welding, and nondestructive testing is carried out prior to coiling the pipe. The total length of pipes on the reel depends on the reel and pipe diameters. Pipeline installation is accomplished by uncoiling, straightening the pipe, and laying out the pipe string onto the seabed as the barge moves forward. Installation associated with coiling and uncoiling is related to the bending moment and strain relationship of the pipeline, A highgrade pipe material is required when the reel-lay method is used. This paper is concerned with the highly plastic bending moment of the pipeline, including the effect of ovality. Moment calculation in the pipe is accomplished by the numerical method, including the variable ovalities during the plastic bending of the pipe string. The new calculation method of the high plastic bending moment was applied to the reel-lay method.

  • It is of great practical interest to decide when to stop testing a software system in the development phase and transfer it to the user. This decision problemcalled an optimal software release one is discussed to specify the a, pp.opriate release time. In almost all studies, the software reliability models used are nonphomogenous Poisson process(NHPP) model with bounded mean value function. HNPP models with unbounded mean value function are more suitable in practice because of the possibility of introducing new faults when correcting or modifying the software. We discuss optimal software release policies which minimize a total average software cost under the constraint of satisfying a software reliability requirement. A numerical example illustrates the results.

Kernel Inference on the Inverse Weibull Distribution

  • In this paper, the Inverse Weibull distribution parameters have been estimated using a new estimation technique based on the non-parametric kernel density function that introduced as an alternative and reliable technique for estimation in life testing models. This technique will require bootstrapping from a set of sample observations for constructing the density functions of pivotal quantities and thus the confidence intervals for the distribution parameters. The performances of this technique have been studied comparing to the conditional inference on the basis of the mean lengths and the covering percentage of the confidence intervals, via Monte Carlo simulations. The simulation results indicated the robustness of the proposed method that yield reasonably accurate inferences even with fewer bootstrap replications and it is easy to be used than the conditional approach. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the densities and the inferential methods developed in this paper.

  • It is very important to well understand the dynamic characteristics of damaged structures to successfully develop or to choose a most appropriate structural damage identification method (SDIM) as the means of non-destructive testing. In this pope., the dynamic equation of motion for damaged plates is derived by introducing a damage distribution function, which may characterize the effective state of structural damages. It is found that structural damages may induce the coupling between modal coordinates. The effects of damages on the vibration characteristics of a plate depending on their locations, sizes, and magnitudes are numerically investigated in a systematic way. The numerical investigations are also given to the effects of damage-induced modal coupling on the changes in vibration characteristics and to the minimum number of natural modes required to predict sufficiently accurate vibration characteristics of damaged plates.
