Purpose: This study aims to examine the research output in the field of nursing at the global level during the last two decades, viz., for the period 1996-2015, with special reference to India. Some of the aspects examined include the research growth in nursing literature during the period of study, leading nursing research countries at the regional and global level, and citation analysis. Scope and Methodology: This study is global in nature, but emphasis has also been laid on India's research contribution in nursing at the global level. Aspects like regional contribution to the nursing research output have also been assessed. This study is purely based on secondary data retrieved from SCImago Journal and Country Rankings. The figures in the study are based on one particular database and are not exhaustive; hence they simply reflect a trend in nursing research at the global level. Findings: During the period 1996 through 2015, a total of 550,490 research articles were published across the world by 212 nation states at an average of 2,596 articles from each individual country. On average, during the period of study, the number of nursing research publications grew at the rate of 7.36% each year. North America has emerged as one of the leading nursing research continents of the world by publishing 218,614 research articles, constituting 39.71% of the global nursing research output. The U.S. and U.K. are the world's two leading nursing research countries, which contributed 193,819 and 61,730 research articles respectively, comprising a 35.21% and 11.21% share of global nursing research output. India and China, apart from being the two fastest growing nursing research countries, have the potential to meet the global human resource demand in the field of nursing, given the skilled and trained human resource both these countries possess in nursing. Social Implication: There is always a need to share working knowledge in some professions and nursing is one of them. There cannot be a better medium than linking practice with theory through the research medium. Metric studies in turn help to get a better idea about the amount of work done in any given field at the national and international level, thus identifying the need thereof to improve upon those areas where there is research lag.
The ability to judge a country's scientific standing is vital for the governments and businesses that must decide scientific priorities and funding. In this paper, we analyze the output and outcomes from research investment over the recent years, to measure the quality of scientific research on national scales and to set it in an international context. There are many ways to evaluate the quality of scientific research, but few have proved satisfactory. To measure the quantity and quality of science in different nations, we analyzed the numbers of published research papers and their citations. The number of citations per paper is a useful measure of the impact of a nation's research output. Essential at a were acquired from SCI database by Thomson Scientific, which indexes more than 8,000 journals, representing most significant materials in science and engineering. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate and compare the output and outcomes among nations in a variety of viewpoints and criteria. One of the implications in response to the result of analysis is that sustainable economic development in highly competitive world markets requires a direct engagement in the generation of knowledge. Even modest improvement in healthcare, clean water, sanitation, food, and transport need capabilities in engineering, technology, and medicine beyond many countries' reach. Nations exporting natural resources such as gold and oil can import technology and expertise, but only until these resources are exhausted. For them, sustainability should imply investment in alternative agricultural and technological capabilities through improvements in their skills base. A strong science base does not necessarily leat to wealth generation. However, strength in science has additional benefits for individual nations, and for the world as a whole.
Nowadays, artificial intelligence model approaches such as machine and deep learning have been widely used to predict variations of water quality in various freshwater bodies. In particular, many researchers have tried to predict the occurrence of cyanobacterial blooms in inland water, which pose a threat to human health and aquatic ecosystems. Therefore, the objective of this study were to: 1) review studies on the application of machine learning models for predicting the occurrence of cyanobacterial blooms and its metabolites and 2) prospect for future study on the prediction of cyanobacteria by machine learning models including deep learning. In this study, a systematic literature search and review were conducted using SCOPUS, which is Elsevier's abstract and citation database. The key results showed that deep learning models were usually used to predict cyanobacterial cells, while machine learning models focused on predicting cyanobacterial metabolites such as concentrations of microcystin, geosmin, and 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB) in reservoirs. There was a distinct difference in the use of input variables to predict cyanobacterial cells and metabolites. The application of deep learning models through the construction of big data may be encouraged to build accurate models to predict cyanobacterial metabolites.

The dominant model of acquiring scholarly contents at academic libraries is so called big deal where libraries subscribe to a bundle of hundreds, if not thousands of journals in a multi-year contract with fixed annual rate increase. The bid deal, started in the mid-1990s, offered a number of advantages for academic libraries and their users. However, escalating prices for these packages have become a serious issue casting doubts about the sustainability of the subscription-based model. At the moment, it appears there is no viable alternative other than pay-per-view method that is being tested at some libraries. Libraries' budget situation will remain a key factor that might change the situation. Open access started in the 2000s as a vehicle to eliminate barriers to publishing and distributing peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles. Open access publishing is witnessing two-digit growth annually. Open access articles now occupy close to 20% of two major citation databases: Scopus and Web of Science. Google Scholar service, debuted in late 2004, is now a popular tool for discovering and accessing scholarly articles from a vast selection of journals around the world. There is a call for taking Google Scholar seriously as a potential replacement of library databases amid concerns regarding the quality of journals indexed, limited search capabilities vis-$\grave{a}$-vis library databases, and monopoly of public goods. Escalating budget problems, rapid growth of open access publishing and the emergence of powerful free tool, such as Google Scholar, need to be taken seriously as these forces might bring disruptive changes to the existing subscription-based model of scholarly contents at academic libraries.
This paper presents an investigation into cross-cultural transfiguration of Buddhist faith in Goryeo Dynasty, with a focus on $\acute{S}\bar{u}$raṃgama-s$\bar{u}$tra that used to be in vogue in East Asia. There are three major types of $\acute{S}\bar{u}$raṃgama-s$\bar{u}$tra faith in Goryeo: the first one was concerned about the scripture itself including its citation and publication and the compilation of its annotation books; the second one involved establishing Buddhist rituals related to the scripture; and the final one was to create Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ stone poles with Dafoding Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ in Volume 7 of the scripture engraved in stone. While it was the common practice to engrave Zunsheng Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ in China, the number of stone poles on which Dafoding Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ was engraved was overwhelmingly large. There are a couple of reasons behind the difference: first, there was a tendency of Zunsheng Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ being worshiped at the national level in Goryeo, which probably explains why the percentage of Zunsheng Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ stone poles designed to pray for a personal mass for the dead by engraving Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ on a stone pole was considerably low. In addition, there were esoteric sects in Goryeo, and it is estimated that they must have got involved in the establishment of Dafoding Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ stone poles in the former half of Goryeo. Furthermore, the Zen sects had a deep non-Zen understanding of Esoteric Buddhism and tended to practice Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ in Goryeo. It is estimated that Dafoding Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$ stone poles were set up in large numbers in Goryeo as the prevalence of $\acute{S}\bar{u}$raṃgama-s$\bar{u}$tra faith that continued on since the former half of Goryeo was combined with the Zen sects' active position about Dh$\bar{a}$ran$\bar{i}$.

The purpose of this study is, to analyze the recent trend of studies on SaaS(Software as a Service) in Korea and to suggest a direction for the future research. For this purpose, the relevant literatures published in Korea Citation Index and literatures presented in conferences were gathered. Among these literatures, total of 39 samples were selected and used in the systematic literature review. The result shows that the application of SaaS in actual operations of industries are widely proliferated. However, the studies on SaaS generally lacks in its number and types. For example, studies so far are only on field of engineering and technology. Considering the fact that SaaS is moving towards the service orientation, studies on SaaS should develop in the fields of policy, business, individual and society sides of studies. In addition, the existing studies uses different concepts of relations between SaaS and ASP(Application Service Provider), as well as, different definitions of SaaS. Lastly, our research analyzed the problems of utilization of SaaS and found that, the quality, performance and security are presented as the core of the problems.

This study aims to forecast the future of the Korean society via a big data analysis. Based upon two sets of database - a collection of 46,000,000 news on 127 media in Naver Portal operated by Naver Corporation and a collection of 70,000 academic papers of social sciences registered in KCI (Korea Citation Index of National Research Foundation) between 2005-2017, 40 most frequently occurring keywords were selected. Next, their temporal variations were traced and compared in terms of number and pattern of frequencies. In addition, core issues of the future were identified through keyword network analysis. In the case of the media news database, such issues as economy, polity or technology turned out to be the top ranked ones. As to the academic paper database, however, top ranking issues are those of feeling, working or living. Referring to the system and life-world conceptual framework suggested by $J{\ddot{u}}rgen$ Habermas, public interest of the future inclines to the matter of 'system' while professional interest of the future leans to that of 'life-world.' Given the disparity of future interest, a 'mismatch paradigm' is proposed as an alternative to social forecasting, which can substitute the existing paradigms based on the ideas of deficiency or deprivation.

This study aims to identify the trends in 'Aesthetic Science-Education' research through bibliographic analysis and provide future implications for research in this field. To this research, 100 studies were extracted using the search function of the Web of Science provided by Clarivate Analytics. Detailed bibliometrics was analyzed using the Bibliometrix package of the R program. As a result of the analysis, the average number of papers increased from 1993 to 2022, and academic journals in which related papers were published were evenly distributed locally. As a result of keyword analysis, papers with top citations, author collaboration networks, and literature co-citation networks, Aesthetic Science-Education could be classified as inducing aesthetic experience by integrating art in science education, and categories using 'formalist aesthetic' and 'emotional response'. The implications derived from this study are as follows: first, the aesthetic aspects of science should be actively studied to emphasize 'Agency' and 'Active Learning' in future science education. Second, it is necessary to develop a new approach to science education by further utilizing the 'formalist aesthetic' of science in science education. Third, the aesthetic aspect of science can change the perception of the Nature of Science of teachers, pre-service science teachers, and students. Fourth, it is necessary to discover implications for utilizing aesthetic aspects in science education through extensive research on the aesthetic aspects of science for teachers, students, and pre-service teachers. This study is meaningful because it provides an overview of the 'Aesthetic Science-Education' research to realize the above implications.
This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the technological performance of national R&D programs, and to compare these factors with those that affect R&D in the machinery and chemical industry. This study also seeks to explore policy implications for the national R&D programs to meet the characteristics of each industrial technology. The results of this study are as follows: First, big enterprises create more Korean patents than small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in the machinery R&D. Moreover, government-funded research institutes produce more SCI articles than enterprises in the chemical technology R&D. Second, there is no significant difference in the number of institutions that participate in the machinery technology R&D. Third, the production of Korean patents and Science Citation Index (SCI) articles on all samples in the machinery industry are influenced by government grants. For instance, in the samples, which consist of enterprises, the creation of overseas patents is influenced by the amount of government grants. Fourth, there is no significant difference in the magnitude of private investment, regardless of the sample and industry. In conclusion, different factors influence the technological performances of the national R&D programs in the chemical and machinery technology R&D. This shows that it is necessary to consider the characteristics of industry-specific technology when making science and technology policies for the national R&D programs.

Even though the overall scholarly community has recognized a dramatic growth and changes in the Information Science research in Korea over the last few decades, there are still only few studies that have identified the changes in terms of long-term and dynamic point of view. We have analyzed 1,007 IS-research articles from leading Korean journals in KCI (Korea Citation Index), published between 2000 and 2011. To discern the trendline of changes in research interests over time, we conducted a time-series analysis by developing grounded subject scheme from the article set and checking the growth rate of the number of published articles and title keywords. A comparative analysis was also conducted by constructing and comparing co-word maps over time to discover visible changes in research topics over this 12-year period of the IS-research in Korea. As a result, we identified some developments and transformations in major subject areas and knowledge structure of the IS-research in Korea over time. The major trend we discovered is that IS-studies over the 12-year period evolved from system-oriented research to library-application research. The changes are especially observed in knowledge management, Web-based system evaluation, and information retrieval areas. When compared to the results of other studies, the result of our study may serve as an evidence of the localization of Korean IS-studies in the first decade of the $21^{st}$ century.
