This research aimed to investigate the current trends of rooftop greening techniques of frequent use within and without Korea. It is also expected that this research will help developing new rooftop greening techniques appropriate for Korean environment. Data for this study have been collected from patent applications for rooftop greening techniques; the web sites of the Korean Intellectual Property Office as well as patent offices in Germany and Japan, where active researches on rooftop greening techniques are in progress. 168 applications within a period from the year of 1984 to December of 2004 were examined, among which Japan excelled with its 81 applications followed by Germany(54), Korea(31)and USA(2). In case of Japan, where more patent applications were found than in any other countries, applications for Plant Base(38) excelled others - System(36), Management(4) and Plant(3) in the number of applications. As for Germany, 25 cases were on Plant Base, 25 cases on System, and 4 cases on Plant; in Korea, 15 cases were on Plant Base, 11 cases on System, 3 cases on Plant and 2 cases on Management; in USA, 1 cases were on System and 1 cases on Plant. Overall, the total number of patent applications in three countries reaches 168 cases; among which Plant Base topped in all four countries, followed by 73 cases on System. Applications concerning Plant and Management totalled to 11 and 6 for each. In conclusion, most patents were concentrated on Plant Base and System while researches on Plant and Management still do not get as much attention as they deserve. Research and development of various techniques on Plant must be a precondition for the formation of diverse Bio-tops suitable for the environments of specific areas. Concrete researches on rooftop greening techniques will contribute to the improvement of urban ecosystem by developing more convenient and easily applicable techniques during the time of actual construction.

Purpose: The present study compared the difference between intraoperative transrectal ultrasound (iTRUS)-based prostate volume and preplan computed tomography (CT), preplan magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based prostate volume to estimate the number of seeds needed for appropriate dose coverage in permanent brachytherapy for prostate cancer. Materials and Methods: Between March 2007 and March 2011, among 112 patients who underwent permanent brachytherapy with $^{125}I$, 60 image scans of 56 patients who underwent preplan CT (pCT) or preplan MRI (pMRI) within 2 months before brachytherapy were retrospectively reviewed. Twenty-four cases among 30 cases with pCT and 26 cases among 30 cases with pMRI received neoadjuvant hormone therapy (NHT). In 34 cases, NHT started after acquisition of preplan image. The median duration of NHT after preplan image acquisition was 17 and 21 days for cases with pCT and pMRI, respectively. The prostate volume calculated by different modalities was compared. And retrospective planning with iTRUS image was performed to estimate the number of $^{125}I$ seed required to obtain recommended dose distribution according to prostate volume. Results: The mean difference in prostate volume was 9.05 mL between the pCT and iTRUS and 6.84 mL between the pMRI and iTRUS. The prostate volume was roughly overestimated by 1.36 times with pCT and by 1.33 times with pMRI. For 34 cases which received NHT after image acquisition, the prostate volume was roughly overestimated by 1.45 times with pCT and by 1.37 times with pMRI. A statistically significant difference was found between preplan image-based volume and iTRUS-based volume (p<0.001). The median number of wasted seeds is approximately 13, when the pCT or pMRI volume was accepted without modification to assess the required number of seeds for brachytherapy. Conclusion: pCT-based volume and pMRI-based volume tended to overestimate prostate volume in comparison to iTRUS-based volume. To reduce wasted seeds and cost of the brachytherapy, we should take the volume discrepancy into account when we estimate the number of $^{125}I$ seeds for permanent brachytherapy.
The Purpose of this study is to search for ways to improve the police-related emergency reporting service through the analysis of its actual condition - focusing 112 emergency reporting & 122 emergency reporting. For this purpose, the main data related to police-related emergency reporting required for inspection of the administration conducted by the National Assembly in 2013 is utilized. The actual condition of the police-related emergency reporting service is examined in 3 aspects - the number of reported cases by reporting type, the number of police response, and the average arrival time. The principal analysis results of the actual condition revealed that 112 emergency reporting is increasing and 122 emergency reporting oscillates between increases and decreases in the total number of reported cases, the number of non-emergency reporting is increasing in both 112 and 122 reported cases, the number of prank call is high in 122 reported cases, the rate of other agency transmit($122{\rightarrow}112$) is higher than 12% in 122 reported cases, and the number of police response and the average arrival time are decreasing in 112 reported cases. To improve the police-related emergency reporting, based on the above actual condition, the followings are required: to operate dualistic police-related response; to publicize a police-related reporting service; to take stern measures against false report; to make continuous improvement of the police-related emergency reporting system.

The present study has been conducted to investigate the effects of Reynolds number on heat/mass transfer and pressure drop characteristics in a rotating smooth two-pass duct. For stationary cases, the heat/mass transfer and pressure drop Is decreased on turning region of both leading and trailing surfaces as Reynolds number increases. For rotating cases, increment of Reynolds number affects differently the heat/mass transfer and pressure drop on the leading and trailing surfaces. In the first pass, for example, the heat/mass transfer on the leading surface is greatly increased, though the heat/mass transfer on the trailing surface is almost the same. The reason is that effect of the main flow is more dominant than effect of secondary flow. In particular, it gave decrement of the heat/mass transfer and the pressure drop at turning region and upstream region of second pass for both non-rotating and rotating cases.

In order to seize quantitative materials as part of studies on measures for oil pollution prevention and control, the statistics of oil pollution incidents in Korean coastal waters for 10 years from 2003 to 2012 were analyzed with relation to the number of oil spills and the volume of oil spilt according to causes, sources and sea areas of spills. Total number and total volume of oil spills for 10 years were found to be 2,833 cases and 17,877 kL, respectively. 50.4 %(1,429 cases) of total number of oil spills were caused by negligence, although oil spillage due to negligence was 294 kL(1.7 %). While oil spillage caused by marine accidents was 17,400 kL(97.3 %), marine accidents accounted for 27.9 %(790 cases) of total number of oil spills. While negligence had a great influence on the number of oil spills, marine accidents had a huge impact on the amount of oil spilt. Fishing boats accounted for 42.7 %(1,210 cases) of the number of oil spills, and although oil tankers accounted for 9.2 %(261 cases) of the number of oil spills, oil spillage from oil tankers was 15,488kL(86.7 %). It means that oil tankers such as VLCC or ULCC may be the main sources of major oil spills and a few very large spills are responsible for a high percentage of the amount of oil spilt. While the number of oil spill incidents was closely related to the accidents of fishing boats, the volume of oil spilt was greatly affected by the major oil spill incidents of oil tankers such as M/T Hebei Spirit. The number and volume of oil spills were shown to be 1,613 cases(56.9 %) and 3,804 kL(21.3 %) in South Sea, 700 cases(24.7 %) and 13,501 kL(75.5 %) in West Sea, and 520 cases(18.2 %) and 572 kL(3.2 %) in East Sea of Korea, respectively. The highest number of oil spills was found in South Sea and the most volume of oil spilt was shown in West Sea of Korea for 10 years.

Patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mouse models are frequently used to test the drug efficacy in diverse types of cancer. They are known to recapitulate the patient characteristics faithfully, but a systematic survey with a large number of cases is yet missing in lung cancer. Here we report the comparison of genomic characters between mouse and patient tumor tissues in lung cancer based on exome sequencing data. We established PDX mouse models for 132 lung cancer patients and performed whole exome sequencing for trio samples of tumor-normal-xenograft tissues. Then we computed the somatic mutations and copy number variations, which were used to compare the PDX and patient tumor tissues. Genomic and histological conclusions for validity of PDX models agreed in most cases, but we observed eight (~7%) discordant cases. We further examined the changes in mutations and copy number alterations in PDX model production and passage processes, which highlighted the clonal evolution in PDX mouse models. Our study shows that the genomic characterization plays complementary roles to the histological examination in cancer studies utilizing PDX mouse models.
An investigation was made Into 1,357 fixed bridges which had been performed at the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, Seoul National University Hospital from 1973 to 1979. The purpose of this investigation was to establish a basic reference of the treatment with fixed bridges by obtaining statistical conclusions from the data concerning the patients who had been treated with fixed bridges. The following conclusions were obtained; 1. The ratio of the fixed bridges made on the maxillae to those made on the mandible was 1:1. 2. The cases of fixed bridges with one pontic were the most frequent, i.e., 946 cases out of total 1,357 cases, which were 69.7% of the total. 3. As the number of missing teeth increased, the number of the relevant cases of fixed bridges decreased. 4. The most frequent age group of the patients who had been treated with fixed bridges was the twenties, which was 40.8% of the total. As the age of the patients increased, the number of corresponding cases of fixed bridges decreased. 5. Most of the fixed bridges with more than three pontics were made at the anterior portion samely on the maxilla and on the mandible. 6. As for the retainers, the porcelain fused to metal crown and the partial veneer crown were frequently used at the anterior portion, while the full veneer crown was frequently used and the inlay and the attachment were used in some cases at the posterior portion. The locations of fixed bridges in the order of their frequency were: canine, lateral incisor, second bicuspid, central incisor, second molar, first bicuspid, first molar, and third molar on the maxilla; second bicuspid, second molar, first bicuspid, first molar, canine, third molar, lateral incisor, and central incisor on the mandible.
In this study, sensitivity of inflow wind speed and turbulent Schmidt number to pollutant dispersion in an urban street canyon is investigated, by comparing CFD-simulated results to wind-tunnel results. For this, we changed systematically inflow wind speed at the street-canyon height ($1.5{\sim}10.0m\;s^{-1}$ with the increment of $0.5m\;s^{-1}$) and turbulent Schmidt number (0.2~1.3 with interval of 0.1). Also, we performed numerical experiments under the conditions that turbulent Schmidt numbers selected with the magnitude of mean kinetic energy at each grid point were assigned in the street canyon. With the increase of the inflow wind speed, the model underestimated (overestimated) pollutant concentration in the upwind (downwind) side of the street canyon because of the increase of pollutant advection. This implies that, for more realistic reproduction of pollutant dispersion in urban street canyons, large (small) turbulent Schmidt number should be assigned for week (strong) inflow condition. In the cases of selectively assigned turbulent Schmidt number, mean bias remarkably decreased (maximum 60%) compared to the cases of constant turbulent Schmidt number assigned. At week (strong) inflow wind speed, root mean square error decreases as the area where turbulent Schmidt number is selectively assigned becomes large (small).
From July 1th 2001 to October 31th 2001, the Clinical investigation studies were carried out 10 cases of patient with Bell' palsy using Trigger point treatment group, who had been treated in Han-seung Oriental Medical Clinic. The results were like below: 1. The distribution of sex : Male were 4cases. female were 6case and the female to male ratio was 1.5 : 1. 2. The distribution of contributing factor : Unknown reason was most predominant 4 cases, and then were revealed to labor too hard. mental stress(3 cases), trauma common cold(1 case) in turn. 3. The distribution of perid to fall ill : Under a week was the most number 6cases, and then were revealed a week under two weeks(3 cases), over two weeks(1 case) in turn. 4. About period of treatment : The Trigger Point treatment group is shorter than the Acupuncture treatment group. 5. The distribution of grade on admission in descending order : Gr I was the most number and then GrII, GrIII in turn. 6. The distribution of clinical symptoms on admission : Mastoid pain was the most number 9 cases and then lacrimal gland disorder 8 cases, dysgeusia 4cases, hyperacusis 2 cases, the others 2 cases in turn. 7. About effect of treatment : The Trigger point treatment group is more excellent than the Acupuncture treatment group. 8. The more patient age is young, the more effect of treatment was excellent, had nothing to do with both groups. 9. The more perid to fall ill is short, the more effect of treatment was excellent. had nothing to do with both groups. 10. About period of improved frontal belly : The Trigger point treatment group is more excellent than the Acupuncture treatment group.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine potential differences in pre-hospital cases of cardiac arrest and drug Intoxication between elderly group and non-elderly group on local emergency activity sites of rescue 119 team for those cases, so that it can provide useful reference materials for a system of corresponding emergency medical services. Methods: Patients with cardiac arrest and drug intoxication in the elderly and the non-elderly group were analyzed by analyzing the Ambulance Run Report for 3 years from January 2007 to December 2009. Results: According to analysis on potential differences between elderly and the non-elderly group, it was found that there was no significant difference between elderly cases (evacuated to hospital due to cardiac arrest and drug poisoning) and non-elderly cases in year of onset (p = .247), quarter of onset (p = .813), sex (p = .235), consciousness state (p = .126), place of onset (p = .215) and number of first aid services (applied to emergency cases) respectively, but there were significant differences between elderly cases and non-elderly cases in guardian availability (p = .042), time zone of onset (p = .050), distance from the site of onset (p = .278), type of onset (p = .000), number of first aid services depending on distance of evacuation (p = .008) and effectiveness of emergency care (p = .003) on statistical basis. Conclusion: It is important to establish a system of early emergency case reports for rational emergency case management with lower mortality; shorten distance from the site of onset at each time zone of onset in emergency cases; employ more emergency team members; facilitate firsthand / secondhand medical instructions for emergency teams in specialized emergency care depending on distance of evacuation for each kind of onset (elderly group vs. non-elderly group); and improve rate of resuscitated emergency cases by extending the scope of works for emergency medical technicians into wider applications, so that it will be possible to take timely and appropriate measures for emergency settings of ever-increasing aged population in near future.
