둘째자녀 출산계획에 영향을 미치는 자녀가치관 및 가족관계 요인 (Family-related Factors Affecting the Second Birth Decision: Focus on the Value of Children and Family Relationships)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting the decisions regarding second births. Especially, analysis focused on the connections between desire for a second birth and the family factors such as family values and marital relations because they have been rarely known until now. Data was from 1,156 married women that had only one child and had been part of the national data collected by KIHASA in 2003. Major findings can be summarized as follows. First, it was found that value-related factors affect the likelihood of a second birth. The degree of parental responsibility is negatively related with the desire for a second birth. However, the perceived ideal number of children is positively related to it. Second, it was found that the quality of family relations influences the decision for the second birth. Particularly, marital satisfaction is likely to be the most important factor tending to mediate the effects of socio-demographic factors and value-related factors on the plan for a second birth. These results suggest that the effects of social norms on the number of children and timing of childbearing which exist in the family are becoming weaker. Nevertheless, the traditional value of children such as a preference for a son can still be found.

Changes in longitudinal craniofacial growth in subjects with normal occlusions using the Ricketts analysis

  • Objectives: This study was designed to define the Korean norm values for the Ricketts analysis. Methods: In this longitudinal study, lateral cephalograms of 31 subjects with normal occlusion were taken biennially from ages 9-19 years. Cephalometric measurements were performed. Parameters for which the 10-year change did not exceed one standard deviation were defined as unchanged. The means and standard deviations for the measured parameters were determined for each age group. Results: No significant changes in growth were observed in the molar relationship, incisor overjet, incisor overbite, mandibular incisor extrusion, interincisor angle, lower incisor tip (B1) to A point-Pogonion (A-PO) plane, upper incisor tip (A1) to A-PO plane, B1 inclination to A-PO, A1 inclination to A-PO, B1 inclination to Frankfurt plane (FH), convexity, lower facial height, facial axis, maxillary depth, maxillary height, palatal plane to FH, cranial deflection, ramus Xi position, or porion location. Continual changes over the 10 years of growth were observed in the maxillary first molar distal position to pterygoid true vertical plane, facial depth, mandibular plane to FH, anterior cranial length, mandibular arc, and corpus length. Conclusions: Clinicians can apply the Korean norms at age 9 as determined in this study when using the Ricketts analysis. The patient's age at the beginning of treatment and their sex should be taken into consideration when drawing visual treatment objectives.

  • 본 논문은 고속 전역탐색법 중의 하나인 MSEA(multi level successive elimination algorithm)를 개선한 방식으로서, MSEA의 단계에 따른 norm의 계산 결과를 이용하여 최종 단계의 SAD를 예측함으로써 더 이상의 단계를 수행할 필요가 없다고 판단되는 단계의 계산을 생략함으로써 계산 량을 감소시키는 방법을 제안한다. 각 단계별 SAD의 예측을 위해 norm에 대한 이론적 분석이 이루어지며 실험을 통해 분석내용을 검증하고, 이를 바탕으로 새로운 알고리즘을 제안하고 실험을 통해 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 평가한다.

패션과 기술의 융합 제품을 위한 TAM과 패션의 통합 모형 연구 (Technology Acceptance Model and fashion: Toward an integrated model for fashionable technology products)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a theoretical model identifying how consumers accept a fashionable technology product. A systematic review of 39 influential TAM studies focusing on theory development in the context of information technology results in three tendencies, which become backbone of the model of fashionable technology acceptance. A subsequent review of the nature of fashion fleshes out the backbone with detailed propositions in the more specific context of fashionable technology. The model of fashionable technology acceptance includes key propositions of Theory of Reasoned Action, in which internal beliefs consist of functional, aesthetic and symbolic values, and other factors, such as technology features (i.e., hardware specification, software specification, brand, and price factors), environmental conditions (i.e., technical infrastructure and user occasion), individual differences (i.e., age, gender, experience, personality, aesthetic sense, fashion innovativeness, and income), and social influence (i.e., subjective norms, social reputation, and cultural difference). Implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

가상 호스피스 센터의 개념설계 (Conceptual Design for Virtual Hospice Center)

  • This study aims at the operation of the hospice in the virtual space by the use of telecommunication technology. The hospice can be an efficient alternative for the elderly and terminal patients. It can achieve both the quality of life of patients and the conservations of medical resources. The virtualization creates new norms and values which are different from the conventional environments. The concepts and limitations which are crucial to the projection of the existing hospice into the virtual space are discussed. The items ranging from the hospice need to the design criteria of the modules are investigated. The most important point in constructing the virtual hospice center is the human factor, which characterizes the hospice. In addition, the real-world circumstances of the hospice should be considered in the realization of the VHC.

인구쟁점에 대한 가치관의 변화 -1995~96년간 우리 나라 주요 신문의 사설을 중심으로- (Population and Value : Changes in Values on Population Issues, Republic of Korea, 1955-96)

  • 이 논문의 목적은 우리 나라에서 인구증가나 인구억제 등 인구에 관한 국민들의 가치관의 변화를 살펴보기 위한 것이다. 여기서 말하는 가치란 특정한 사회구조의 산물이며 동시에 그 사회를 구성하는 개인들의 행위의 동기가 되며 행위의 지침이 되는 모든 태도와 관심을 말한다. 우리 나라는 1960년대 초부터 정부가 주도하여 실시한 가족 계획 사업을 국민들이 적극적으로 받아 들여 출산율의 억제에 성공한 대표적인 나라로 손꼽힌다. 이에 따라 우리 나라에서는 많은 조사 특히 인구억제를 위한 피임 및 자녀수에 대한 조사연구를 했다. 이들 조사는 대부분 질문표를 이용한 조사였기에 실제 상황에 접하지 않고 가상적인 상황을 설정하여 그에 대한 반응을 알아 낸 자료이기에 실제상황에 봉착했을 때 꼭 그와 같이 행동하리라는 보장은 없다. 위와 같은 단점을 고려하여 주요 신문의 사설을 국민감정과 가치를 대변하는 가장 적합한 자료로 이용했다. 우리 나라에서 지난 수십년간 가장 큰 영향을 미친 대중매체는 신문이었으며 또한 오늘날까지 계속 발간되고 있는 신문으로서 동아일보와 조선일보를 손꼽을 수 있다. 1955년부터 1996년 말까지 두 신문이 밝나한 사설의 수는 30,000여 편을 넘는다. 인구에 간접적으로 관련되는 사설의 수는 수백 수천편에 달하겠으나 직접적으로 관련된 사설을 130편으로 집계되었다. 이 자료를 인구증가, 산아제한 및 가족계획, 법 및 정책, 인구 재분배, 수도권 인구 억제, 인구와 사회문제, 노동력과 취업, 및 인구자료-센서스 등 8가지 범주로 구분했다. 이들 각각에 대한 관점을 5년 간격으로 제시하고 마지막으로 역년(曆年) 5년 간격으로 그 주요 쟁점의 변화를 요약했다.

New three-dimensional cephalometric analyses among adults with a skeletal Class I pattern and normal occlusion

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess new three-dimensional (3D) cephalometric variables, and to evaluate the relationships among skeletal and dentoalveolar variables through 3D cephalometric analysis. Methods: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans were acquired from 38 young adults (18 men and 20 women; $22.6{\pm}3.2$ years) with normal occlusion. Thirty-five landmarks were digitized on the 3D-rendered views. Several measurements were obtained for selected landmarks. Correlations among different variables were calculated by means of Pearson's correlation coefficient values. Results: The body of the mandible had a longer curve length in men ($102.3{\pm}4.4$ mm) than in women ($94.5{\pm}4.7$ mm) (p < 0.001), but there was no significant difference in the maxillary basal curve length. Men had significantly larger facial dimensions, whereas women had a larger gonial angle ($117.0{\pm}4.0$ vs. $113.8{\pm}3.3$; p < 0.001). Strong-to-moderate correlation values were found among the vertical and transverse variables (r = 0.71 to 0.51). Conclusions: The normative values of new 3D cephalometric parameters, including the maxillary and mandibular curve length, were obtained. Strong-to-moderate correlation values were found among several vertical and transverse variables through 3D cephalometric analysis. This method of cephalometric analyses can be useful in diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with dentofacial deformities.

Genotype by environment interaction for somatic cell score in Holstein cattle of southern Brazil via reaction norms

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the genetic behavior of a population of Holstein cattle in response to the variation of environmental temperature by analyzing the effects of genotype by environment interaction (GEI) through reaction norms for the somatic cell score (SCS). Methods: Data was collected for 67,206 primiparous cows from the database of the Paraná Holstein Breeders Association in Brazil, with the aim of evaluating the temperature effect, considered as an environmental variable, distinguished under six gradients, with the variation range found being 17℃ to 19.5℃, over the region. A reaction norm model was adopted utilizing the fourth order under the Legendre polynomials, using the mixed models of analysis by the restricted maximum likelihood method by the WOMBAT software. Additionally, the genetic behavior of the 15 most representative bulls was assessed, in response to the changes in the temperature gradient. Results: A mean score of 2.66 and a heritability variation from 0.17 to 0.23 was found in the regional temperature increase. The correlation between the environmental gradients proved to be higher than 0.80. Distinctive genetic behaviors were observed according to the increase in regional temperature, with an observed increase of up to 0.258 in the breeding values of some animals, as well as a reduction in the breeding of up to 0.793, with occasional reclassifications being observed as the temperature increased. Conclusion: Non-relevant GEI for SCS were observed in Holstein cattle herds of southern Brazil. Thus, the inclusion of the temperature effect in the model of genetic evaluation of SCS for the southern Brazilian Holstein breed is not required.

독특성에 대한 욕구가 패션성향과 소비가치에 미치는 영향 (The effect of consumer's need for uniqueness on fashion orientation and consumption values)

  • People tend to maintain and express their individuality in unique ways. Consumer's need for uniqueness is defined as an individual's pursuit that differentiates themselves from others, thereby developing and enhancing their personal identities. This study examined the effect of consumers' need for uniqueness on fashion orientation and consumption values. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey distributed to people visiting the fashion show center during Seoul Fashion Week. The survey questions were designed using the 5-point Likert scale and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ value of questions was reliable as .628-.862. The study's results indicate that people with high need for uniqueness are very interested in fashion and think that is important to be well-dressed. In addition, the results suggest that people with high needs for unusual choices who enjoy challenging the prevailing taste of people want to be fashion leaders and are attracted to products that express their personality well. And people with high needs for creative choices and incompliant choices value their own satisfaction and happiness with the products. On the other hand, consumer's needs for incompliant choices have a negative effect on social value. As a result, people with high needs for incompliant choices would break social norms rather than consider social status and reputation when they purchase fashion products. The concluding section of the paper discusses the implications of this research for fashion companies.

온라인 커뮤니티 참여도와 공동구매의도에 영향을 미치는 요인: 한국과 중국을 중심으로 (Factors Influencing Participation of Online Community and Intention of Joint Purchasing in Korea and China)

  • 소비자들은 온라인 커뮤니티에서 정보공유 및 상호작용을 통해 자신의 경험을 자유롭게 게시하고 있으며, 이러한 메시지들은 구매에 있어서 중요한 영향력을 발휘하고 있다. 본 연구는 온라인 커뮤니티의 참여도를 유발할 수 있는 커뮤니티 특성요인과 커뮤니티에서 이루어지는 구매행동과의 관계를 알아보기 위해 실시되었다. 온라인 커뮤니티에서 구성원들이 적극적인 참여를 유발할 수 있는 커뮤니티 특성을 크게 커뮤니티 지원과 관계지원 두 차원으로 나누고, 보상, 외적 규범, 상호작용, 동류의식을 독립변수로, 참여를 매개변수로 하여 공동구매 의도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 그리고 이를 한국과 중국에서 데이터를 수집하여 온라인 커뮤니티에서 한국과 중국 소비자들의 행동을 분석하고자 하였다. 온라인 커뮤니티 이용자 524명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 구조방정식 모델링을 사용하여 수립된 가설들을 검증하였다. 지각된 외적 규범이 높을수록 참여에 부정적인 영향을 미친것으로 되었다. 반면에 보상, 상호작용, 동류의식이 모두 참여에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 온라인 커뮤니티의 참여수준이 높을수록 공동구매의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 검증되었다. 또한 보상과 외적규범이 참여 미치는 영향이 한국에서는 유의했으나 중국에서는 유의하지 않게 나타났다. 이러한 결과들을 토대로 온라인 커뮤니티의 구축하는 데에 있어서 여러 가지 시사점을 제시하였다.
