We investigated the responses of six types of lipid-coated AT-cut quartz crystal resonators to chemical vapour sensors. The responses of quartz crystal at 9 MHz coated with phosphatidylglycerol (PG), phosphatidylinositol(PI), phosphatidylethanolamine(PE), phosphatidylserine(PS), and lipid A(LA) were obtained for amyl acetate, acetoin, menthane and other organic gases which showed different affinities for each lipid. The identification of odorants depending on the species of lipid used for coating is discussed in terms of the normalized resonant frequency shift pattern.

The objective of this paper is to obtain sharp upper bound for the second Hankel functional associated with the $k^{th}$ root transform $[f(z^k)]^{\frac{1}{k}}$ of normalized analytic function f(z) when it belongs to the class of starlike and convex functions with respect to symmetric points, defined on the open unit disc in the complex plane, using Toeplitz determinants.

A half bridge time sharing type high frequency resonant inverter to give VVVF function in the inverter used as power source of induction heating at high frequency is presented in this paper, this paper also realize the output control of independence irrespective of the switching frequency using Phase-Shift. The analysis of the proposed circuit is generally described by using the normalized parameters. Also, the principle of basic operation and the its characteristics are estimated by the parameters, such as switching frequency, the variation of phase angle(${\varphi}$) of Phase-Shift. It is certain that the proposed circuit will be used and expanded in the high frequency power supplies like induction heating systems.

This paper presents a simple but valid loss calculation method of grid-connected photovoltaic system based on normalized yield model. The proposed method can be represented as a quantitative value for five losses and performance of grid-connected photovoltaic system with three years monitored data. These results will indicate that it is useful to investigate various loss factors causing the performance obstruction, enhance the lifetime yield for changing meteorological conditions, and determine the optimal design and performance improvement of grid-connected photovoltaic system.

Cardiac complications such as arrhythmia and heart failure are common in Graves disease. Early detection and proper treatment of hyperthyroidism are important because cardiac complications are reported to be reversible if the thyroid function is normalized by medical treatment. We report here a case of cardiac complication of Graves disease that was too late to reverse with medical treatment and required surgical treatment.

The quadratic cost function J(x) and the normalized residuals $r_N$ are conventionally used for identifying the presence and location of bed measurements in power system state estimation. These are "post estimation" tests and therefore require the complete re-estimation of system states whenever bed data is identified. This paper presents a pre-filter for reducing errors of the raw measurements using an adaptive filter. Each measurement is processed by the adaptive filter before being used in the state estimation. The performance of the adaptive filter is tested and the results are shown in this paper.

A half-bridge type resonant current injection type high frequency resonant inverter using ZVS(Zero-Voltage-Switching) used as power source of induction heating at high frequency is presented in this paper. This proposed inverter can reduce distribution of the switching current because of using the current of serial resonant circuit to the input current of the parallel one. The analysis of the proposed circuit is generally described by using the normalized parameters, the principle of basic operating and the its characteristics are estimated by the parameters such as switching frequency and load resistance. According to the calculated characteristics value, this paper proves the validity of theoretical analysis through the Pspice.

We present a method to detect on-road vehicle using geometric invariant of feature points on side planes of the vehicle. The vehicles are assumed into a set of planes and the invariant from motion information of features on the plane segments the plane from the theory that a geometric invariant value defined by five points on a plane is preserved under a projective transform. Harris corners as a salient image point are used to give motion information with the normalized correlation centered at these points. We define a probabilistic criterion to test the similarity of invariant values between sequential frames. Experimental results using images of real road scenes are presented.

In this paper, we suggested the femtosecond laser processing using the mask which makes Gaussian spatial beam distribution to a normalized distribution by Fresenel diffraction. Holography pattern of the size of $320{\times}320{\mu}m^2$ on the Cr thin film on glass substrate with a pixel size of $5{\times}5{\mu}m^2$ was fabricated according to the pattern generated by the iterative Fourier transform algorithm(IFTA) algorithm. We analysed the damage threshold with an assumption the power distribution as Gaussian profile as 45 $mJ/cm^2$. The regenerated image of letters through the diffractive pattern was well recognized at the screen.
