Non-local impact ionization 현상의 해석에 사용될 수 있는 새로운 local model이 제시되었다. 새로운 모델은 임의의 점에서 가상의 선형 전기장과 path integral로 계산되는 유효전기장의 값을 이용한다. 이 모델은 불순물 농도, 전자 및 홀 농도, 전기장의 기울기 둥의 local 변수만을 이용함으로써 기존의 drift-diffusion 소자 시뮬레이터에 쉽게 적용될 수 있다. 결과를 Monte Carlo 시뮬레이션과 비교하여 새로운 모델이 non-local 현상을 잘 설명하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

The present paper investigate the elastic buckling of chiral double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) under axial compression. Using the non-local elasticity theory, Timoshenko beam model has been implemented. According to the governing equations of non-local theory, the analytical solution is derived and the solution for non-local critical buckling loads is obtained. The numerical results show the influence of non-local small-scale coefficient, the vibrational mode number, the chirality of carbon nanotube and aspect ratio of the (DWCNTs) on non-local critical buckling loads of the (DWCNTs). The results indicate the dependence of non-local critical buckling loads on the chirality of single-walled carbon nanotube with increase the non-local small-scale coefficient, the vibrational mode number and aspect ratio of length to diameter.

We present a full energy and force formulation of the quasicontinuum method with non-local and local transition elements. Non-local transition elements are developed to transmit inhomogeneity from the atomistic to the continuum regions. Local transition elements are developed to resolve the mathematical mismatch between non-local atoms and the local continuum. The rationale behind these transition elements is provided by analyzing the energy and force transitions between atoms and continuum under the Cauchy-Born rule. We show that breakdown of the Cauchy-Born rule occurs for slaved atoms of local elements within the cutoff of non-local atoms. The inadequacy of the Cauchy-Born rule at the transition region naturally leads to the need of atomistic treatment of transition slaved and transition representative atoms. Such an atomistic treatment together with a full or cutoff sampling allows non-local transition elements containing these transition entities to transmit inhomogeneity. Different force formulations for transition representative atoms and pure local representative atoms allow the local transition elements to resolve non-local and local mismatches. The method presented herein is validated by force calculations in an unstressed perfect crystal as well as an unrelaxed grain boundary model. A nanoindentation simulation in 3D is conducted to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.

In this paper, a speed-up technique for the non-local means (NLM) image denoising method based on local binary descriptor (LBD) is proposed. In the NLM, most of the computation time is spent on searching for non-local similar patches in the search window. The local binary descriptor which represents the structure of patch as binary strings is employed to speed up the search process in the NLM. The descriptor allows for a fast and accurate preselection of non-local similar patches by bitwise operations. Using this approach, a tradeoff between time-saving and noise removal can be obtained. Simulations exhibit that despite being principally constructed for speed, the proposed algorithm outperforms in terms of denoising quality as well. Furthermore, a parallel implementation on GPU brings NLM-LBD to real-time image denoising.

Objectives: The purpose of the study was to classify the health and medical service affairs of local governments, and to analyze the proportions of non-matching fund by local governments and central government subsidies for local government health budget. Methods: First of all, health affairs of local governments were classified to categories based on health-related laws and previous studies by review of the authors. In order to specify the scale of local government-led health affairs, we allocated 1,916 budget units into 6 main and 24 sub categories of the health and medical service affairs of local governments for the 2020 health budget of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. For each categories, we compared the total amounts and the percentages of the 'central government subsidies', 'local government budget - matching fund', and 'local government budget - non-matching fund'. Results: The total health budget of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province accounts for 1.2% of the total budget. Of the total health budget of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, the proportion of central government subsidies was 39.6% and the proportions of local government budget-matching fund and non-matching fund were 33.8% and 26.6%, respectively. The proportions of non-matching fund by provincial and basic local governments were 37.3% and 19.9%, respectively. Conclusion: In order for local governments to deal with the health problems of residents, it is necessary to secure and spend more local government budget(i.e., non-matching fund by local government) for health affairs in their administrative jurisdiction.

Local non-timber forest products can be easily accessed by tourists. These also provide opportunities for tourists to experience the local culture. Many local governments are paying constant attention to the development of non-timber forest product brands to revitalize the local economy and increase the profits of local farmers. Although there are many forest products and tourism resources in each region of Korea, there is no local specialized strategy to sell non-timber forest products and promote consumers' purchase intentions. In this study, we aimed to explore the consumers' perceived creating shared value (CSV) and its association with purchasing behavior of non-timber forest products in Jeongeup city, Korea. Data were collected from 1,066 consumers who had purchased non-timber forest products. Purchasing patterns of local specialty products differed depending on consumers' perceived CSV levels. In addition, consumers with higher levels of perceived CSV showed higher awareness and familiarity with Jeongeup city and experienced Jeongeup city's non-timber forest products. Our findings suggest that improving consumer perception towards CSV of non-timber forest products can be used as a marketing strategy for local non-timber forest products to revitalize the local economy.

Purpose - This paper examines the effects of host country's non-economic factors on foreign affiliate's financial and operational performance. Design/Methodology - Using Korean-owned foreign affiliate-level data, we employ various measures that represent host country's non-economic factors and examine their effects on foreign affiliate's performance. We further investigate the effects of local top managers and local middle managers on the impact of country's non-economic factors on foreign affiliate's performance. Findings - We find that local top managers are effective in increasing foreign affiliate's financial performance by dealing with institutional and cultural factors, particularly in high-income countries, while local middle managers are effective in increasing affiliate's operational performance by responding to the changes in doing business factors, particularly in low-income countries. Originality/value - Considering that most of previous FDI studies focus on examining host country's economic factors on firm's FDI decision, our findings suggest that country's non-economic factors are strongly associated with actual business performance of foreign affiliates.

본 논문에서는 일반 영상의 가우시안 잡음 제거에 유용한 Non-Local Means 필터를 이용하여 웨이블렛 도메인 상에서 SAR 영상의 스펙클 잡음제거 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 먼저 승법 잡음인 스펙클 잡음을 로그를 취해 가법 잡음으로 변환한 후 웨이블렛 분해하고 고주파 혹은 저주파 서브밴드에 따라 Non-Local Means 필터와 웨이블렛 임계값 처리(wavelet thresholding)를 선택적으로 적용하고 지수형태를 취해 원영상으로 복원함으로서 잡음을 제거한다. 또한, Non-Local Means 필터의 단점인 수행시간을 단축시키기 위해 통계적 t-검정을 이용하여 개선하고자 한다. 영상실험을 통한 성능평가 결과 제안된 필터는 정성적인 비교와 PSNR과 DSSIM을 통한 정량적인 비교 모두 기존의 필터보다 우수한 성능을 보였다. 통계적 t-검정을 이용해 개선된 방법은 빠른 계산 속도와 더 나은 성능을 나타냈다.

The multiplication region of an APD(Avalanche photodiode) plays a critical role in determining the gain, the multiplication noise, and the gain-bandwidth product. we compared and analyzed the local model and the non-local model for a 10Gb/s APD designing.

Regarding global and local factors of a set of features, a given single image or multiple images is a common approach in image processing. This paper introduces an application of an adaptive version of non-local filter whose original version searches non-local similarity for removing noise. Since most images involve texture partner in both foreground and background, extraction of signified regions with texture is a challenging task. Aiming to the detection of visual attention regions for images with texture, we present the contrast analysis of image patches located in a whole image but not nearby with assistance of the adaptive filter for estimation of non-local divergence. The method allows extraction of signified regions with texture of images of wild life. Experimental results for a benchmark demonstrate the ability of the proposed method to deal with the mentioned challenge.
