The STS304 stainless steel was oxidized isothermally and cyclically at temperatures between 1050 and $1200^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr in air. During isothermal oxidation, it displayed good oxidation resistance at $1050^{\circ}C$. However, it suffered from breakaway oxidation above $1100^{\circ}C$, being accompanied with internal oxidation. During cyclic oxidation, it also displayed good oxidation resistance at $1050^{\circ}C$, but it suffered from massive weight loss above $1125^{\circ}C$. The oxide scales formed consisted primarily of $Fe_2O_3$, $Fe_3O_4$ with and without $Cr_2O_3$. They were generally non-adherent.

Isothermal (vapor + liquid) equilibrium data measurements were undertaken for the binary mixtures of (propylene oxide + 1-pentanol) system at three different temperatures (303.15, 318.15, and 333.15) K. The Peng-Robinson-Stryjek-Vera equation of state (PRSV EOS) was used to correlate the experimental data. The van der Waals one-fluid mixing rule was used for the vapor phase and the Wong-Sandler mixing rule, which incorporates the non-random two liquid (NRTL) model, the universal quasi-chemical (UNIQUAC) model and the Wilson model, was used for the liquid phase. The experimental data were in good agreement with the correlation results.
We investigate velocity oscillations in a solar quiet region by using the spectral data of the $H{\alpha}$ and Ca II $8542{\AA}$ lines. The data were acquired by the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph installed at the 1.6 m Goode Solar Telescope of Big Bear Solar Observatory. According to Chae & Litvinenko (2018)'s theoretical work, there is a correlation between dominant period of the oscillations and the temperature of the temperature minimum region in a non-isothermal atmosphere. In our study, we measure the temporal variations of the intensity and the line of sight Doppler velocity, and find out the relations between the intensity and dominant period of the oscillations. In addition, we investigate oscillations in a few distinct regions and discuss regional characteristics of the oscillations.

In the present the mean temperature and the temperature fluctuation of non-isothermal parallel liquid sodium jets were measured and analyzed changing the temperature difference and mean velocity of the hot and cold sodium. The sampling frequency and sampling time were 420Hz and three seconds, respectively. The wave-form characteristics were discussed in regard to the peak-to-peak amplitudes and the periods provided by a wave analysis. And also the correlations of the temperature fluctuation in rms value and the peak amplitude are derived. The overall mean accuracy ratios of the correlations are 1.07 and 1.08 with a standard deviation of 0.17 and 0.15, respectively.
We investigate a cool loop and a dark lane over a limb active region on 2007 March 14 by the Hinode/EUV Imaging Spectrometer (EIS). The cool loop is clearly seen in the EIS spectral lines formed at the transition region temperature (log T = 5.8). The dark lane is characterized by an elongated faint structure in coronal spectral lines (log T = 5.8 - 6.1) and rooted on a bright point. We examine their electron densities, Doppler velocities, and non-thermal velocities as a function of distance from the limb using the spectral lines formed at different temperatures (log T = 5.4 - 6.4). The electron densities of the cool loop and the dark lane are derived from the density sensitive line pairs of Mg VII, Fe XII, and Fe XIV spectra. Under the hydrostatic equilibrium and isothermal assumption, we determine their temperatures from the density scale height. Comparing the scale height temperatures to the peak formation temperatures of the spectral lines, we note that the scale height temperature of the cool loop is consistent with a peak formation temperature of the Mg VII (log T = 5.8) and the scale height temperature of the dark lane is close to a peak formation temperature of the Fe XII and Fe XIII (log T = 6.1 - 6.2). It is interesting to note that the structures of the cool loop and the dark lane are most visible in these temperature lines. While the non-thermal velocity in the cool loop slightly decreases (less than 7 km $s^{-1}$) along the loop, that in the dark lane sharply falls off with height. The variation of non-thermal velocity with height in the cool loop and the dark lane is contrast to that in off-limb polar coronal holes which are considered as source of the fast solar wind. Such a decrease in the non-thermal velocity may be explained by wave damping near the solar surface or turbulence due to magnetic reconnection near the bright point.
This study investigated thermal properties and activation energy ($E_a$) of torrefied oak wood powders treated with various torrefaction times (0, 5, 7.5, 10 min) by using non-isothermal thermogravimetric analysis at heating rates of 10, 20, $40^{\circ}C/min$ to check the feasibility of rapidly torrefied oak wood powders as a fuel. As the torrefaction time increases, onset of thermal decomposition temperature, lignin content, and the amount of final residue of torrefied oak wood powders were accordingly increased with reduced hemicellulose content. $E_a$ was determined by using Friedman and Kissinger models and respective R-square values were over 0.9 meaning very good availability of calculated $E_a$ values. The $E_a$ values of the samples were decreased with the increase of torrefaction time and the lowest $E_a$ value ob served in the torrefied oak wood powders treated for 7.5 min showed high feasibility of rapidly torrefied oak wood powder as a biomass-solid refuse fuel.
Thermal Characteristics and kinetic parameters of $LaMnO_3$ synthesis reaction were investigated by means of TGA (Thermogravimetric analysis) at non-isothermal heating conditions (5.0, 10.0, 15.0 and 20.0 K/min). The reaction was occurred rapidly at 450~600K (X=0.4~0.7) depending on the heating rate. Activation energy for the synthesis of $LaMnO_3$ from the precursor, which was determined by different method such as Friedman, Ozawa-Flynn-Wall and Vyazovkin methods, was in the range of 23~243 kJ/g-mol depending on the fractional conversion level and estimation method. The reaction order decreased with increasing heating rate and fractional conversional level. The average reaction order was 4.50 in case of X=0.1~0.3, while it was 1.87 in case of X=0.7~0.9, respectively. The value of frequency factor of reaction rate increased with inceasing heating rate and fractional conversion level. The aveage value of frequency factor was 205.6 ($min^{-1}$) when X=0.1~0.3, while it was 475.2 ($min^{-1}$) when X=0.7~0.9, respectively.

The glass-ceramics made from the mixture of coal bottom ash, produced from a thermal power plant mixed with $Na_2O$ and $Li_2O$ was fabricated and their crystallization behavior was studied using a non-isothermal analyzing method. The temperature for 50% crystallization was higher than the exothermic peak temperature $T_p$ at DTA curve and the quickest crystallization temperature was much the same as $T_p$ as identified from the relationships of crystallized fraction and crystallization rate with temperature. By using Kissinger equation describing a crystallization behavior, the activation energy (262 kJ/mol), the Avrami constant (1.7) and the frequency ($5.7{\times}10^{16}/s$) for crystallization were calculated from which the nepheline crystal could be expected as showing an 1~2-dimensional surface crystallization behavior mainly with some bulk crystallization tendency at the same time. The actual observation of microstructure using SEM showed the considerable amount of surface crystals of dendrite and the bulk crystals with low fraction, so the prediction by the Kissinger equation was in accord with the crystallization behavior of glass-ceramics fabricated in this study.
For the purpose of utilizing fly ash from gasification of low rank coal, we performed the series of experiments such as pyrolysis and char-$CO_2$ gasification on fly ash by using the thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) at non-isothermal heating conditions (10, 20 and $30^{\circ}C/min$). Pyrolysis rate has been analyzed by Kissinger method as a first order, the reliability of the model was lower because of the low content of volatile matter contained in the fly ash. The experimental results for the fly ash char-$CO_2$ gasification were analyzed by the shrinking core model, homogeneous model and random pore model and then were compared with them for the coal char-$CO_2$ gasification. The fly ash char (LG coal) with low-carbon has been successfully simulated by the homogeneous model as an activation energy of 200.8 kJ/mol. In particular, the fly ash char of KPU coal with high-carbon has been successfully described by the random pore model with the activation energy of 198.3 kJ/mol and was similar to the behavior for the $CO_2$ gasification of the coal char. As a result, the activation energy for the $CO_2$ gasification of two fly ash chars don't show a large difference, but we can confirm that the models for their $CO_2$ gasification depend on the amount of fixed carbon.

Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process using CMS as an oxygen purifier was developed to produce high purity oxygen over $99\%$ with high productivity. The cyclic performances such as purity, recovery, and productivity of PSA process were compared experimentally and theoretically under the non-isothermal condition. A binary ($O_2$/Ar 95:5 vol.$\%$) and two kinds of ternary ($O_2/Ar/N_2$ 95:4:1 and 90:4:6 vol.$\%$) mixtures were used as feed gases. The developed process with the consecutive two blowdown steps produced the oxygen with $99.8\%$ purity and $56\%$ recovery from $95\%$ oxygen containing feed. However, in the feed with $90\%$ oxygen, the $O_2$ Purity was decreased up to $97.3\%$. In addition, because the cyclic performances of the suggested process was significantly affected by the diffusion rate, the non-isothermal model with the the modified LDF model was applied for the process simulation. The concentration-dependent rate parameter of the applied rate model was incorporated with the Langmuir isotherm.
