Estimation of the Pollutant Removal Efficiency in a Buffer Strip Using a SWAT Model

  • The water quality from nonpoint source run off results from different land use types has been studied. The construction of a buffer strip is one method of nonpoint source pollutant control. The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model has been applied to estimate the pollutant removal through the buffer strip. When the non-business land has been changed into grass to form a buffer-strip, the change of land use effects the results of the model according to measures of the water quality. The data from a water level station within the watershed in the years 2006 and 2007 was used for calibration and validation of the model. Under the rainfall conditions in 2007, the removal rates of SS, BOD, TN, TP were 11.5%, 9.5%, 1.2%, and 4.5%, respectively. During the rainy days, the removal rates at the buffer strip were 92.3% of SS, 91.2% of BOD, 82.4% of TN, and 83.5% of TP. The pollutants from nonpoint sources were effectively removed by over 80% as they passed through the buffer strips. Rainfall resulted in soil erosion, which led to an increase in the SS concentration, therefore, the construction of buffer strips protected the streams from SS inflows. Since TN concentrations are affected by the inflows of ground water and the N concentration of the rainfall, the removal rate of TN was relatively lower than for the other pollutants.

식생이 적용된 비점오염 저감시설의 강우 특성에 따른 효율 분석 (Analysis of Non-point Pollution Source Removal Efficiencies according to Rainfall Characteristics in Low Impact Development Facilities with Vegetation)

  • This research was conducted to analyze removal efficiencies of non-point pollution source (NPS) in low impact development (LID) facilities with vegetation. In this research, removal efficiencies of NPS were calculated using rainfall monitoring data for 5 years in grassed swale (GS) and vegetative filter strip (VFS). TSS was greater than other pollutants, and it ranged 11.9 ~ 351.7 mg/L in GS and 12.8 ~ 350.7 mg/L in VFS. Outflow EMCs were reduced than inflow EMCs, overall removal efficiencies of NPS were 67 ~ 86% in GS and 63 ~ 91% in VFS. 50 % reduction efficiency of rainfall runoff was observed between inflow and outflow in each LID facility. TSS removal efficiency in GS and VFS was correlated with rainfall characteristics. The rainfall for TSS removal efficiency over 50% was determined about 31 mm, 34 mm and average rainfall intensity was 3.0 mm/hr, 3.9 mm/hr in GS and VFS. Therefore, GS and VFS were regarded effective LID facilities as removal of pollutants and rainfall runoff. Also, this research result can be used as an important data for management of NPS.

분포형 유역모델을 이용한 식생여과대의 오염부하 저감효과 분석 (Evaluation of Pollution Loads Removal Efficiency of Vegetation Buffer Strips Using a Distributed Watershed Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 강원도 평창군 대관령면에 위치한 산지초지와 초지의 말단에 조성한 식생여과대(Vegetation Buffer Strip, VBS)에 분포형 유역모델 CAMEL을 적용하였다. 그리고 이를 통해 확보한 매개변수를 초지와 식생여과대로 구분한 다수의 시험격자에 적용하여 다양한 인자들에 의한 식생여과대 오염부하 저감효과를 평가하였다. 시험격자를 이용한 시나리오 모의결과, 식생여과대에서 강우의 직접유출량은 식생여과대 폭이 넓어질수록 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 전반적으로 경사가 높을수록 오염물질의 저감효율은 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 유사의 경우, 식생여과대 폭에 따른 저감효율은 전반적으로 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. TOC와 TN의 경우, 시험격자의 경사가 $10^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$일 때, 식생여과대 폭에 따른 저감효율은 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 경사가 $30^{\circ}$일 때 식생여과대 폭이 좁을수록 높은 저감효율을 보였다. 반면, TP의 경우, 양토(Loam)에서의 저감효율은 전반적으로 높지만, 사양토(Sandy loam)에서는 경사가 $20^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$일 때 식생여과대 폭이 넓을수록 높은 저감효율을 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 TOC와 TN의 모의결과와는 상반되는 결과로 대부분 입자성 물질로 존재하는 인의 경우 지표면에서의 포착현상으로 인해 길이에 따라 비례적으로 저감효율이 높아지는 경향을 보이는 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구에서 구축한 모델은 향후 비점오염물질의 유출을 효과적으로 저감할 수 있는 식생여과대 조성을 위한 기준 등을 제안하는데 효과적으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

안전하고 효과적인 광대축소술 (Safe and Effective Reduction Malarplasty)

  • Background: Reduction malarplasty is one of the most popular facial contouring surgeries in east Asia for making patients' faces smaller. Currently in Korea, reduction malarplasty surgeries are performed mostly at plastic surgery clinics, but few cases are done at oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics. The reason might be because of post-operative complications after reduction malarplasty, such as undercorrection, overcorrection, asymmetry, cheek drooping, malunion, pain and noise. Those complications should be uneasy to be handled by oral and maxillofacial surgeons, however, they can be prevented by knowing the effective and safe reduction malarplasty techniques. Therefore, in this article the author as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, would like to suggest safe and effective surgical methods for reduction malarplasty customized for Korean patients. Method: L- shape osteotomy of zygomatic body was performed with intraoral approach via vestibular incision, and the zygomatic arch was osteotomized with extraoral approach via sideburn incision. Then zygomatic complex was separated and rotated mesio-superiorly without removal of a bony strip and fixed with miniplates and microplates without making a bony gap. Conclusion: Surgical results were favorable and satisfied by the patients without cheek drooping, malunion, undercorrection and asymmetry.

유역모델 CAMEL 기반 식생여과대 모듈의 개발 (Development of a Vegetation Buffer Strip Module for a Distributed Watershed Model CAMEL)

  • 본 연구에서는 분포형 유역모델이면서, 국내 환경에 적합하도록 개발된 CAMEL에 기반하여 식생여과대 효과분석을 위한 모듈을 개발하였다. 식생여과대의 주요 모의기능은 기존의 CAMEL과 동의하나 릴에서의 유사포착 현상과 수평둔덕을 추가로 설계하여 모듈에 반영하였다. 식생여과대 모듈을 검증하기 위하여 시험 격자를 이용하여 식생여과대의 길이, 조도계수, 토성, 식생의 높이 및 뿌리 깊이 등 다양한 매개변수에 대한 민감도 분석을 실시하였다. 식생여과대 모듈의 민감도 분석결과를 종합해 보면, 유사 지표유출량은 조도계수 변화에 따라 민감하게 반응하였으며, 전반적으로는 유사와 TP의 지표유출량 저감률이 시나리오 변화에 상관없이 전반적으로 높은 것으로 분석되었다. TOC, TN의 저감률은 식생여과대의 길이, 토성변화에 따라 민감하게 반응하는 것으로 나타났으며, 유사와 TP의 지표유출량 저감률에 비해 상대적으로 저감률이 낮은 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 식생여과대 모듈은 환경변화에 따른 오염물질 저감효과를 합리적으로 재현하는 것으로 나타났으며, 향후 식생여과대 조성 지역에 적용되어 비점오염 물질 제거 효과를 정량적으로 산정하고 효율적인 관리방안을 평가하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Dip 추출에서 유체 표면의 영향을 고려한 친환경 포토레지스트 박리공정 (Green Photoresist Stripping Process with the Influence of Free Surface from Dip Withdrawal)

  • This paper describes a green stripping process to effectively strip the remaining DFR layer on a non-alkali-based ITO glass surface after an etching process. A stripper, water-soluble amine compound, is used to investigate the characteristics of stripping ability and to suggest a valid method for the green process. Increasing the composition (5-30% concentration) of the ethanol amine-based stripper was found to greatly reduce the stripping time applied in the dipping method. The composition (30%) achieved an excellent stripping effect and free-residue impurities. Additionally, it was possible to obtain the effect of stripping in a way to sustain the release before generating DFR sludge from the ITO glass surface by using dipping condition (stripping time) in the composition. An Additional stripping process (buffering) out of dipping can realize productivity improvement and cost reduction because of the higher proportion of re-use of the stripping solution used in the DFR removal step.

XPS와 SEM을 이용한 폴리실리콘 표면에 형성된 잔류막에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Polysilicon Etch Residue by XPS and SEM)

  • HBr/$Cl_2/He-O_2$ 반응 기체를 이용한 반응성 이온 식각후, 폴리실리콘 표면에 형성된 잔류막을 x-선 광전자 분광법(x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, XPS)과 전자 현미경 (scanning electron mocroscopy, SEM)을 이용하여 관찰하였다. 그 결과 잔류물은 패턴된 폴 리실리콘의 맨 윗부분에 자존하고 있었으며, 화학 결합 상태는 실리콘 산화물임이 밝혀졌다. 잔류물인 실리콘 산화물의 형성 메카니즘을 규명하기 위하여 원래의 혼합 기체 성분중 한가 지씩의 반응 기체를 제외시켜 가면서 실험하였다. 비록 플라즈마 성질이 다를지라도, 잔류물 은 산소의 존재하에서 잘 형성됨을 알 수 있었는데, 이는 휘발성이 낮은 실리콘-할로겐 화 합물이 산소에 의해 산화됨으로써 형성되는 것으로 이해하게 되었다. 또한 반응성 이온 식 각후 형성된 잔류층은 소자의 전기적 특성과 후처리 공정에 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있어서, 이를 제거하기 위해 습식과 건식 후처리 공정을 도입하여 비교하였다. 그 결과 건식 공정의 경우 기체에 의해 새로운 잔류물이 형성됨을 XPS를 통하여 관찰하였다. 따라서 잔 류물을 제거하고 깨끗한 표면을 얻기 위해서는 습식 공정이 더 적합함을 알았다.

저영향개발 시설 설계 기준에 따른 용량 평가 방법 연구 (Research on Design Capacity Evaluation of Low Impact Development according to Design Criteria)

  • 전 세계적으로 도시화로 인해 파괴된 자연물 순환시스템 회복을 위해 저영향개발 (Low Impact Development, LID) 시설에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다. 하지만, LID 시설 용량 적정성 평가를 위한 종합적인 분석이 이루어지지 않아 LID 시설 도입에 많은 어려움이 제기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 LID 시설 4개소(식생수로, 식생여과대, 식생체류지 및 투수블록)의 강우 모니터링 결과를 바탕으로 저감 효율 및 적정 용량 산정 방안을 분석하였다. WQV과 WQF을 설계 기준으로 하는 LID 시설의 강우 유출수(37%) 및 오염물질(TSS, BOD, TN 및 TP) 별 저감 효율(20% ~ 37.1%)이 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 용량 적정성 평가를 위한 SA/CA 그래프 도출 결과 모든 항목에서 결정계수 0.5 이상(비선형회귀모형 기준)으로 나타났으며, 특히 강우 유출수 및 TP에서 높은 결정계수를 보였다. 그리고 본 연구에서 제안하는 LID 시설의 구조적 차이를 고려한 'SA/CA & L/CA' 그래프 도식 결과, 'SA/CA'보다 강우 유출수, TSS 및 TP 결정계수가 향상됨을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 LID 시설의 용량 적정성 평가를 위한 'SA/CA & L/CA' 적용 가능성을 확인하였으며, 향후 일반화 및 표준화를 위한 추가적인 연구를 수행할 필요가 있다.

도로배수 취약구간의 개선방안에 대한 연구 (A study of Improvement on the Road Drainage Poor Site)

  • 본 연구는 도로 운영시 강우로 인하여 발생하는 배수 취약구간에 대하여 현장 조사를 통하여 도로 배수 취약구간의 발생 원인을 과학적이고 구체적으로 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 도로 배수 취약구간의 발생 원인을 규명하기 위하여 배수취약구간에 대한 기존 연구결과 및 현황 자료를 검토하였으며, 도로 노면 배수시설과 도로 인접지 배수시설에 대한 취약구간을 조사 및 분석한 결과, 시공 및 기타의 원인으로 발생한 배수 취약구간이 45.7%, 도로의 기하구조가 원인이 된 배수 취약구간은 32.3%, 도로의 수리 수문의 원인은 22.0%로 분석되었으며, 분석된 원인 별 개선 방안으로서 i)시공 및 기타 부분에서는 토사측구의 재료 변경, 단면의 크기 상향 및 수리학적 근거를 바탕으로 한 용량의 산정을, ii)도로의 기하구조 측면에서는 편경사 및 종단선형을 고려한 합성경사의 도출 및 범위 산정과 종단 오목부 구간의 배수구조물 적정 간격의 제시를, iii)도로의 수리 수문 측면에서는 1분단위 강우강도식의 사용과 노면 강우의 부등류 흐름 해석 기법의 적용과 선형 배수방식에 따른 도로 노면 강우의 신속배제를 개선 방안으로 제안하였다.

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70$\pm$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32$\pm$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500, 550, 570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500, 550 and 570nm. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100, 300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms. Our department has developed an information system for routine hematology using down-sized computer system. We have used an IBM 486 compatible PC with 16MB main memory, 210 MB hard disk drive, 9 RS-232C port and 24 pin dot printer. The operating system and database management system were SCO UNIX and SCO foxbase, respectively. For program development, we used Xbase language provided by SCO foxbase. The C language was used for interface purpose. To make the system use friendly, pull-down menu was used. The system connected to our hospital information system via application program interface (API), so the information related to patient and request details is automatically transmitted to our computer. Our system interfaced with fwd complete blood count analyzers(Sysmex NE-8000 and Coulter STKS) for unidirectional data tansmission from analyzer to computer.
