In this paper, we propose the efficient impulsive noise mitigation scheme for power line communication (PLC) systems in smart grid applications. The proposed scheme estimates the channel impulsive noise information of receiver by applying machine learning. Then, the estimated impulsive noise is updated in data base. In the modulator, the impulsive noise which reduces the PLC performance is effectively mitigated through proposed technique. As an impulsive noise model, Middleton Class A interference model was employed. The performance is evaluated in terms of bit error rate (BER). From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme has better BER performance compared to the conventional model. As a result, the proposed noise mitigation improves the signal quality of PLC systems by effectively removing the channel noise. The results of the paper can be applied to PLC systems for smart grid.

In this paper, we proposed a scheme to mitigate noises based on the EMD scheme for heterogeneous communication systems. Noise-corrupted data can be decomposed into a finite number of IMF components. Using the EMD method, we can mitigate noise with eliminate noise-corrupted IMF components. We proposed iteration stop rule for reduce EMD computation time. Simulation results show that proposed EMD scheme based on proposed algorithm for iteration stop rule efficiently mitigates 3 types of noise and reduces its computational time.
We propose a blind feedforward phase noise mitigation method in the time-domain for a coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) systems. By exploiting the redundancy of the cyclic prefix (CP), the proposed scheme acquires the overall phase noise difference information during an OFDM block and attempts to mitigate the phase noise in the time domain using a linear approximation. The proposed algorithm mitigates common phase error (CPE) and inter-carrier-interference (ICI) due to phase noise simultaneously, improving the system performance, especially when decision-directed equalizers are used. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed feedforward phase noise mitigation approach in time domain.

This study is a part of ???A study of the community noise:new guideline and policy' which have three main topics and ten sub-topics. Accordingly this part deals with a transpotation noise specifying road traffic ,railroad and aircraft noise, respectively. At first, the ,roadside traffic noise of whole country in 2004 ,22 major cities of total 29 was exceeded the envionmetal noise standards, 55dB(A) at night time ,therefore 24 milion people ,52.4% of korean, who reside at roadside estimates to be exposured the basic problems of this serious noise polluation comes from:: i)It's very limited noise mitigation measures against to continuously increase the number of automobile yearly. ii) and at beginning of road design, It has been neglect to introduce the anti-noise design and layout of road structural scheme as gadient, cutting and viaduct, embankment and zonning of roadside land-buffer area and also re-designation of noise sensitive areas, etc. Secondly ,concerned with the railroad trafffic noise, a inhabitants who are over the envionmetal noise limits,70dB(A), 65 dB(A) in day and night for 34 locations of mayor cities was exposured of 167,000 and 329,000 respectively. With the development of noise mitigation schemes in line with this study it is likely that noise monitoring system needs new installation as well as common use of noise assessment index with $L_{MAX}\;and\;L_{EQ}$. Lastly, noise complaints of millitary aircraft has been rapidly increasing ,so 2.9%(1.4 minion) person demands a compansation of \2,133 billion complying with their requirements we suggest to minimise the airport noise that is to develop of noise abatement procedure ,to make new noise index, to increase budget for house insulations and also to more increase of those the noise monitoring system and to unify the management etc.

This paper proposes Snapping Shrimp Noise (SSN) detection and corrupted Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) reconstruction methods to increase Bit Error Rate (BER) performance when OFDM transmitted signal is corrupted by impulsive SSNs in underwater acoustic communications. The proposed detection method utilizes multilayer wavelet packet decomposition for detecting impulsive and irregularly concentrated and SSN energy in specific frequency bands of SSN, and the proposed reconstruction scheme uses iterative decision directed-subcarrier reconstruction to recover corrupted OFDM signals using multiple carrier characteristics. Computer simulations were executed to show receiver operating characteristics curve for the detection performance and BER for the reconstruction. The practical ocean experiment of SAVEX 15 demonstrated that the proposed method exhibits a better detection performance compared with conventional detection method and improves BER by 250% and 1230% for uncoded and coded data, respectively, compared with the conventional reconstruction scheme.

In this paper, a comparative study on the performance of two-phase and three-phase randomized pulse position PWM scheme for mitigation of audible switching acoustic noise in motor drives is done. In the randomized Pulse Position PW, each of two-Phase or three-phase PWM Pulses is located randomly in each switching interval. Simulation and experimental efforts were executed to investigate the spread effects of Power spectra of inverter output voltage, waveforms of ripple current and audible switching acoustic noise. As results, two-phase RP% scheme is more effective from the viewpoint of switching loss and ease of implementation while the three-phase RPWM scheme is more effective from the viewpoint of the spread effects of power spectra. Also, from the view point of the audible switching acoustic noise in motor drives, two-phase and three-phase RPW schemes are nearly the same.

In this paper, an effective repeat-back jamming (RBJ) mitigation scheme known assuccessive repeat-back jamming cancellation (SRC) is proposed for the utilization of the successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm which is used to mitigate the near-far effect and the multiple-access interference for code division multiple-access communication systems. The proposed scheme uses a combined pseudo-random noise (C-PRN) signal from the estimated major parameters of RBJ signals. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, the root mean squared (RMS) code tracking errors are shown according to the standard deviation of the parameter estimation errors of an RBJ signal, and using the well-known major parameters estimation schemes with a C-PRN signal through Monte-Carlo simulation.

A repeat-back jamming signal is an intentionally re-broadcasted GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) interference. In this paper, a novel repeat-back jamming detection scheme is proposed. The proposed scheme uses a combined pseudo random noise signal (C-PRN) and is available for a generic GNSS receiver with a single antenna. The C-PRN signal is made by combining several received pseudo random noise signals that had been transmitted from the visible GNSS satellites. Through a Monte-Carlo simulation, the detection probability of a repeat-back jamming signal detected with the proposed scheme is presented.

In this paper, we propose a pre-processing scheme for improving indoor positioning accuracy in impulsive noise channel environments. The impulsive noise can be generated by multi-path fading effects by complicated indoor structures or interference environments, which causes an increase in demodulation error probability. The proposed pre-processing scheme is performed before a triangulation method to calculate user's position, and providing reliable input data demodulated from a received signal to the triangulation method. Therefore, we studied and proposed an adaptive threshold function for mitigation of the impulsive noise based on wavelet denoising. Through results of computer simulations for the proposed scheme, we confirmed that Bit Error Rate and Signal-to-Noise Ratio performance is improved compared to conventional schemes.

Two-tier femtocell networks, consisting of a conventional cellular network underlaid with femtocell hotspots, play an important role in the indoor coverage and capacity of cellular networks. However, the cross- and co-tier interference will cause an unacceptable quality of service (QoS) for users with universal frequency reuse. In this paper, we propose a novel downlink interference mitigation strategy for spectrum-shared two-tier femtocell networks. The proposed solution is composed of three parts. The first is femtocells clustering, which maximizes the distance between femtocells using the same slot resource to mitigate co-tier interference. The second is to assign macrocell users (MUEs) to clusters by max-min criterion, by which each MUE can avoid using the same resource as the nearest femtocell. The third is a novel adaptive power control scheme with femtocells downlink transmit power adjusted adaptively based on the signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) level of neighboring users. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can effectively increase the successful transmission ratio and ergodic capacity of femtocells, while guaranteeing QoS of the macrocell.
