초음파 영상 시스템에서 새로운 도플러 평균주파수 확장 방법 (A New Method for Extending Doppler Mean Frequency in Ultrasonic Imaging Systems)

  • 기본적으로 초음파 영상 시스템은 반사 계수를 보는 B-모드와 혈류의 속도를 구하는 도플러 영상 모드를 구비하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 도플러 영상 모드에서 혈류의 속도를 나타내는 도플러 주파수가 펄스반복주파수의 1/2을 초과하는 경우 발생하는 에일리어싱 현상을 검출해 보상하는 새로운 방법을 제시하고 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 타당성을 보여준다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 추정 가능한 도플러 주파수를 확장시켜 줄 뿐만 아니라 잡음에 대해서도 강인한 특성을 가진다. 시뮬레이션 결과 신호 대 잡음비가 약 20dB로 낮은 경우에도 에일리어싱을 제대로 보상할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

종동력을 받는 외팔기둥의 동적 안정성에 미치는 구조감쇠 효과 (Structural Damping Effects on Stability of a Cantilever Column under Sub-tangentially Follower Force)

  • 안정성 지도(stability map)을 이용하여 부분 종동력(sub-tangentailly follower force)를 받는 외팔 기둥의 동적안정성 이론을 요약한다. Rayleigh 감쇠를 가정하여 내적 및 외적 감쇠효과를 2개의 감쇠비를 통하여 반영하고, 감쇠비 변화에 따른 플러터하중의 변화와 관련된 매개변수 연구를 수행한다. 또한, 종동력을 받는 외팔기둥에 대한 진동수 방정식의 엄밀해를 유도하고, 특정 감쇠비 범위에 대한 안정성 지도를 유한요소 해석결과와 함께 비교/분석한다.

  • The use of beamforming method and de-Dopplerization technique was applied in studying the rotating sound sources. Acoustic analysis of a moving sound source required that the measured sound signals be do-Dopplerized and restored as of the original emission signals. Two main issues of the signal reconstruction in time domain are addressed herein: First, to remove Doppler effect from the measured data and to restore the original emission data of the moving source. The difference of the time domain beamforming from the frequency domain beamforming was mentioned. Also, the time domain beamforming method is deployed in the test and the comparisons were made to the frequency domain results. The time domain signal reconstruction was numerically simulated prior to the application. To validate the de-Dopplerization Performance, the rotating Point sources were examined and localized by the use of a phased array of microphone. The application of prop-rotor was conducted in a hovering condition. The results of reconstructing time signals of rotating sources and its locations were shown in the power distribution maps. In the prop-rotor measurements, the acoustic source locations were successfully verified in varying positions for different frequencies of interest.

끝단질량과 크랙을 가진 유체유동 회전 외팔 파이프의 동적 안정성 (Dynamic Stability of Rotating Cantilever Pipe Conveying Fluid with Tip mass and Crack)

  • The stability of a rotating cantilever pipe conveying fluid with a crack and tip mass is investigated by the numerical method. That is, the effects of the rotating angular velocity, mass ratio, crack severity and tip mass on the critical flow velocity for flutter instability of system are studied. The equations of motion of rotating pipe are derived by using the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and the extended Hamilton's principle. The crack section of pipe is represented by a local flexibility matrix connecting two undamaged pipe segments. Also, the crack is assumed to be in the first mode of fracture and always opened during the vibrations. When the tip mass and crack are constant, the critical flow velocity for flutter is proportional to the rotating angular velocity of pipe. In addition, the stability maps of the rotating pipe system as a rotating angular velocity and mass ratio ${\beta}$ are presented.

  • We study the possibility of new approach for identifying instrumental noise artifacts and sources of gravitational wave (GW) data such as LIGO and CLIO using various correlation analyses.To improve the quality of data for the GW signal search, the instrumental noises should be reduced in an appropriate way. Furthermore, it is important to understand the correlation between auxiliary channels of the GW detector. In this study, we investigate the possible way of identifying glitch triggers by generating time-frequency-correlation (TFC) maps between the related channels and compare the result to the current conventional schemes.

FIR VIEW OF DISKS OF WEAK-LINE T TAURI STARS

  • We have observed ~60 Weak-line T Tauri stars (WTTSs) toward the Chamaeleon star forming region using the AKARI Far-Infrared Surveyor (FIS) All-Sky maps. We could not detect any significant emission from each source even at the most sensitive WIDE-S band. Then, we have performed stacking analysis of these WTTSs using the WIDE-S band images to improve the sensitivity. However, we could not detect any significant emission in the resultant image with a noise level of $0.05MJy\;sr^{-1}$, or 3 mJy for a point source. The three-sigma upper limit of 9 mJy leads to the disk dust mass of $0.01M_{\oplus}$. This result suggests that the disks around Chamaeleon WTTSs are already evolved to debris disks.

  • In mobile robotics, ultrasonic sensors became one of the most popular devices for collision avoidance and navigation primarily due to data robustness, the easy availability of low-cost systems, their compact size, simple circuits, and their ease in interfacing with computers. However, ultrasonic sonic sensors are subject to noise which results in inaccuracy of mapping and localization of the robot. This paper introduces a new approach to enhance environmental maps based on ultrasonic range data using linear interpolation and Newton interpolation. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method improves of the accuracy of the map through better distance estimation between the mobile robot and obstacles.

HVPM의 카오스 신호와 치환동기 (Replaced Synchronization and Chaos Signal by HVPM)

  • 본 논문에서는 카오스 현상을 나타내는 수식을 변형하여 암호시스템이나 PN(pseudo-noise)시퀸스에 적용하기 위하여 복잡한 카오스 신호를 발생시키는 하이퍼카오스 VP 사상(HVPM, Hyper chaos Volume Preserving Maps)과 이들간의 카오스 동기화를 제안한다. 단계별 모듈러(modulus) 함수를 이용하여 랜덤한 카오스 신호를 발생시키기 위하여 이산시간(discrete-time) HVPM 모델을 설정하고, 수치해석 실험으로 아날로그 카오틱시퀸스(CAS. chaotic analog sequence)의 특징을 분석한다. 그리고 HVPM의 신호를 기존의 단순한 PC(Pecora, Carroll)방법을 응용한 치환동기화 (synchronous substitution)를 이용하여 구동 및 응답시스템간의 카오스 동기화(chaos synchronization) 제어를 한다. 수치실험에서 카오스 신호가 갖는 특징들을 확인할 수 있었으며, 치환동기시스템에서 효과적인 카오스 동기화가 수행됨을 증명할 수 있었다.

종동력을 받는 이중진자의 혼돈운동 연구 (Chaotic Behavior of a Double Pendulum Subjected to Follower Force)

  • In this study, the dynamic instabilities of a nonlinear elastic system subjected to follower forces are investigated. The two-degree-of-freedom double pendulum model with nonlinear geometry, cubic spring, and linear viscous damping is used for the study. The constant, the initial impact forces acting at the end of the model are considered. The chaotic nature of the system is identified using the standard methods, such as time histories, power density spectrum, and Poincare maps. The responses are chaotic and unpredictable due to the sensitivity to initial conditions. The sensitivities to parameters, such as geometric initial imperfections, magnitude of follower force, direction control constant, and viscous damping, etc., are analysed. Dynamic buckling loads are computed for various parameters, where the loads are changed drastically for the small change of parameters.

Disparity Refinement near the Object Boundaries for Virtual-View Quality Enhancement

  • Stereo matching algorithm is usually used to obtain a disparity map from a pair of images. However, the disparity map obtained by using stereo matching contains lots of noise and error regions. In this paper, we propose a virtual-view synthesis algorithm using disparity refinement in order to improve the quality of the synthesized image. First, the error region is detected by examining the consistency of the disparity maps. Then, motion information is acquired by applying optical flow to texture component of the image in order to improve the performance. Then, the occlusion region is found using optical flow on the texture component of the image in order to improve the performance of the optical flow. The refined disparity map is finally used for the synthesis of the virtual view image. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm improves the quality of the generated virtual-view.
