In this paper, we propose an analysis framework to capture the trends of information security incidents and evaluate the security policy based on the incident analysis. We build a big data from news media collecting security incidents news and policy news, identify key trends in information security from this, and present an analytical method for evaluating policies from the point of view of incidents. In more specific, we propose a network-based analysis model that allows us to easily identify the trends of information security incidents and policy at a glance, and a cosine similarity measure to find important events from incidents and policy announcements.

Because people's interest of the stock market has been increased with the development of economy, a lot of studies have been going to predict fluctuation of stock prices. Latterly many studies have been made using scientific and technological method among the various forecasting method, and also data using for study are becoming diverse. So, in this paper we propose stock prices prediction models using sentiment analysis and machine learning based on news articles and SNS data to improve the accuracy of prediction of stock prices. Stock prices prediction models that we propose are generated through the four-step process that contain data collection, sentiment dictionary construction, sentiment analysis, and machine learning. The data have been collected to target newspapers related to economy in the case of news article and to target twitter in the case of SNS data. Sentiment dictionary was built using news articles among the collected data, and we utilize it to process sentiment analysis. In machine learning phase, we generate prediction models using various techniques of classification and the data that was made through sentiment analysis. After generating prediction models, we conducted 10-fold cross-validation to measure the performance of they. The experimental result showed that accuracy is over 80% in a number of ways and F1 score is closer to 0.8. The result can be seen as significantly enhanced result compared with conventional researches utilizing opinion mining or data mining techniques.

Social media has become a popular source of information around the world. Previous studies explored different trends of social media news consumption. However, no studies have focused on Bangladesh to date, where social media penetration is very high in recent years. To fill this gap, this research aimed to understand its popularity trends during the period. For that reason, this work analyzes 97.67 million page likes and 3.48 billion interaction data collected from nine Bangladeshi news media's Facebook pages between December 2016 to November 2020. The analysis shows that the growth rates of page likes and interaction rates declined during this period. It suggests that the media's Facebook pages are gradually losing their popularity among Facebook users, which may have two more interpretations: Facebook's aggregate appeal as a news source is decreasing to users, or Bangladeshi media's appeal is eroding to Facebook users. These findings challenge the previous results, i.e., Facebook's demand as a news source is increasing with time. We offer four explanations of the decreased popularity of Facebook's news: information overload, exposure to incidental news, users' selective exposure and different aims of using Facebook, and conflict between media agendas and users' interests. Some theoretical and practical significance of the results has been discussed as well.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases were first reported in December 2019, in China, and an increasing number of cases have since been detected all over the world. The purpose of this study was to collect significant news media reports on food services during the COVID-19 crisis and identify public communication and significant concerns regarding COVID-19 for suggesting future directions for the food industry and services. SUBJECTS/METHODS: News articles pertaining to food services were extracted from the home pages of major news media websites such as BBC, CNN, and Fox News between March 2020 and February 2021. The retrieved data was sorted and analyzed using Python software. RESULTS: The results of text analytics were presented in the format of the topic label and category for individual topics. The food and health category presented the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on food and health, such as an increase in delivery services. The policy category was indicative of a change in government policy. The lifestyle change category addressed topics such as an increase in social media usage. CONCLUSIONS: This study is the first to analyze major news media (i.e., BBC, CNN, and Fox News) data related to food services in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Text analytics research on the food services domain revealed different categories such as food and health, policy, and lifestyle change. Therefore, this study contributes to the body of knowledge on food services research, through the use of text analytics to elicit findings from media sources.
This study explored the effects of the parasocial relationship formed by CCTV (China Central Television) TV news and non-traditional news on users' perceived media credibility and their online and offline political participation. This study conducted a survey with the Chinese CCTV users between April 19 and April 30, 2021, and finally, 701 respondents' data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The study results showed that both TV news and non-traditional news had positive effects on parasocial relationships and the parasocial relationship positively influenced media credibility, which subsequently facilitated political participation. However, there was no direct effect between media usage and media credibility. This implies the important mediating role of parasocial interactions, which enables CCTV news to gain media credibility and subsequently influence political participation. This study suggests that CCTV needs to improve the parasocial interactions between their audience and media figures by utilizing the interactive mechanism of non-traditional media.
