  • When considering clothing of the North American Indians, it is important to understand historical background of the North American Indians. With the coming of he Europeans, the North American Indians adopted new materials of clothing and ornamentation and added European elements to their own dresses. New materials appeared in textiles, beadswork, and metalwork. The introduction of the "true" loom and steel needle by the Spanish led in the New World to the development of a weaving culture. Cotton cloth, in calico prints, gingham, or plain were made into dresses, and colorful applique, patchwork designs adapted from the white women. Cloth made an immediate impact, replacing skin that is so time-consuming in preparation. Glass beads, pony beads, seed beads and ribbons were used to create adornment Indian clothing. Brass, tin and silver were used among Indian metalworkers to make some ring, necklace, bracelet, etc.

  • Advanced function has been considered to be the most important aspect of the cellular phone. However, leading companies are now implementing the fashion branding strategy which stresses both high technology and appealing design. By means of the conjoint analysis, this research focuses on identifying the preferred design profile related to style of the key cover, color and texture of the case, and presence or absence of the noctilucent material coated on the part of surface. We also evaluate the relative importance of factors to determine the design concept of new cellular phone. Results indicate that consumers most prefer the silver-colored, sliding key cover phone with soft and noctilucent surface.

  • Several regulations on converting reusable products are established in many countries, due to the emphasis on environmental issues on manufacturing. Many companies consider reusable and returned items in addition to purchasing new items. In this paper we suggest several algorithms to determine the near optimal quantities of items for converting and new items for purchasing. The reusable items are converted into end items, each facing normally distributed demand in a single period of interest. We develop a mathematical model and a genetic algorithm(GA) to compare the number of convertible units and new items to be purchased. Computational results demonstrate the efficiency of the developed algorithms.

  • The aims of this study are to access the status and problems and draft possible solutions of Korean trawl fishery in New Zealand sea. The main target fish species for Korean trawlers in this sea were barracouta, blue mackerel, hake, hoki, jack mackerel, ling, oreo, orange roughy, southern blue whiting, spiny dogfish, squid and silver warehou. The Korean trawl fishery are suffering from a supply of seaman, continuous increasing coast of the counter partner, repair of vessel and seaman supply. It may be useful for getting over these difficulties to build a new trawler with a automatic operation system.

  • This paper deals with the study of how the 'birth' of Brazil happened and how the European utopianism was represented in Brazilian Informative Literature of the sixteenth century, that is, the first literary manifestations of Brazil. There were at that time the Renaissance humanism and the scientific development that encouraged dozens of illustrious navigators for new discoveries ultra-seas, like Christopher Columbus who discovered America. Writings such as Letter to King Manuel of Pero Vaz de Caminha, had mostly an intention to inform Europeans about climates, indians and possibility to discover gold or silver. Main narrative characteristics were uncertainty and exageration, which ironically helped to attract more discoveries and explorations in the New World. Americo Vespucio's Mundus Novus inspired Thomas More to write Utopia, in which the author described through a Portuguese sailor the ideal but unrealizable society. Utopianism regarding the imaginary island of 'Brazi', well known among Europeans since long ago, may have influenced the current name of the country: 'Brazil'. On the other hand, utopianism shown in Brazilian Informative Literature worked as a justification for Europeans to explore and colonize the New World.

  • Rapid development in computer and network technology these days has created in environment in which decisions for manufacturing companies can be made in a much broader perspective. Especially, better decisions on production and distribution planning(PDP) problems can be made laking advantage of real time information from all the parties concerned. However, since the PDP problem-a core part of the supply chain management- is known to be the so-called NP-hard problem, so heuristic methods are dominantly used to find out solutions in a reasonable time. As one of those heuristic techniques, many previous studios considered genetic a1gorithms. A standard genetic a1gorithm applies rules of reproduction, gene crossover, and mutation to the pseudo-organisms so the organisms can pass along beneficial and survival-enhancing trails to a new generation. When it comes to representing a chromosome on the problem, it is hard to guarantee an evolution of solutions through classic a1gorithm operations alone, for there exists a strong epitasis among genes. To resolve this problem, we propose a hybrid genetic a1gorithm based on Silver-Meal heuristic. Using IMS-TB(Intelligent Manufacturing System Test-bed) problem sets. the good performance of the proposed a1gorithm is demonstrated.

  • This study aims to understand the meaning that learning of the old age has, through old age learners who augustly live after retirement-life so called successful silver years. Qualitative research methods is used for analyzing the contents of articles about 15 old age learners and the results are follows below. First, the retirement has dual meaning for the old learners. One is they experienced psychological and emotional insecurity after retirement and the other is it is a turning point for them to realize their longtime dream. Second, the old age learners showed enthusiasm about learning and they voluntarily found the way of success in their silver years. Finally, the old age learners working in new career with provocative and enthusiastic attitude work as a role model of successful old age life and show how they progress. This study argued that we need to consider the old as active agents and the old age as the time when productive and continuous learning can be done. In addition, this study strongly insisted that we need to realize the importance of 'education by the elderly' and social and other relevant conditions are needed to be established immediately.

  • While Korean traditional culture considers it necessary that children support their parents, a new trend of silver support is expanding by the recent social change, the increase of women's working, and the reluctance to support the old people. However, the number of silver welfare facilities in Korea is short for the demand with limited selections of them. Based on the situation, the following results of the study what kind of policies Korea service for the old people in the USA where early stepped into the aging society: 1. provide specific and proper social-supporting service and facilities with charge or free for the old people to be able to select one of them, according to economic, physical and psychological situation of the old people; rather to prepare service and facilities for all the old people. 2. increasing community service support for the home-staying old people 3. the development of support program for the family of the old 4. the improvement of housing environment for the home-staying senior 5. prepare the housing alternatives for the senior would be home-like environment.

  • Because the average span of human life is expanded by developing economy growth and medicine science elder population increases rapidly. According to that A first aid patient of demands grow, too so in a fire station. We have to prepare following these. First that the silver ambulance is in process of service is widely. second, medical teams and fire fighters construct unity Third, New curni culum makes under modern operating course. Forth, the problem that wireless paging system sets up and rums already. advances more effective. Fifth furthermore, we organize a private volunteer for an old age To connect that we enlarge total service for silver age. Through this fire fighting service. we are neloom to get more confidence and love.

  • We are entering a phase of an aged society. The societal expense on health care for the so called "silver generation", which refer to as those over the age of 65 is increasing. Although many companies provide various services based on information technology for the health of the silver generation, many have pointed out the limits of them, preventing the activation of services. This study tries to develop a new smart health band business model, which is the most common form of healthcare service that reflects the user's desire. To do this, the study will cover the smart health band and the technical functions related to it, as well as the elements of the business model and its content.
