This study was conducted to determine effects of cutting date, cutting position, and node number on rooting of Rubus buergeri Miquel. Apical, medial, and basal parts of the vines emerged in 2002 were cut on June 26, August 2, and September 4, in 2002. Vine pieces with one to four nodes taken from the medial parts of the vines were also cut on July 10. The greatest rooting (69.6%) occurred in cuttings taken on August 2. Cutting taken on June 26 had the longest roots (23.1 cm). Rooting and new shoot growth markedly decreased at September 4 cutting. The greatest rooting (55.4%) occurred in cuttings taken from medial part of the vines and followed by apical parts (45.6%), and basal parts (25.4%). The other traits were not significantly affected by cutting position. Rooting percentage and percent new shoot growth were not significantly affected by node number, but root number and root dry weight per cutting, and new shoot growth increased with node number.
The studies were intended to clarify the correlations between the characters and the influences upon yield of mulberry trees. The analysis of covariance was used to obtain the genotypic correlations and phenotypic correlations among the eight characters namely branch length, node number, branch diameter, branch number per stock, total branch weight, old branch weight, new shoot and leaf weight, etc., and path-coefficients were calculated by Dewey's method (5). The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Genotypic correlations were slightly higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations between tile characters as shown in Table 1. It could be indicated that hight leaf yield was genetically correlated with almost all characters studied except branch diameter. 2. Leaf yield of mulberry trees was mainly associated with the characters such as node number per branch, total branch weight and old branch weight, etc. 3. Branch length, branch diameter, branch number per stock and new shoot weight had little direct influence upon yield but it had rather considerable indirect in fluence upon yield by increasing the node number and total branch weight per stock. As a result, it can be concluded that total branch weight is primarily determined by branch number per stock and old branch weight, and in turn the leaf yield of mulberry trees is secondary determined by the node number by increasing the branch diameter and length which are positively correlated with branch number per stock and new shoot weight of mulberry trees.
Kubong Gold Mine is located in Kuryongri, Sayang-myun, Chungyang-gun, Choongchung-Namdo.(latitude $36^{\circ}24^{\prime}N$. longitude $126^{\circ}45^{\prime}30^{{\prime}{\prime}}E$) The mine was begun to work soon after the inhabitants of this village had accidently discovered the outcrops in April 1908. It is one of the largest gold mines in Korea which produces 4,500 tons of crude ore a month. The geology in the area consists of granitic gneiss, banded gneiss, augen-gneiss, mica schist, limesilicate of Pre-Cambrian series and sedimentary rocks(sandstones & conglomerates) of Daedong series. Basic dikes intrude the former formations. The country rock of the ore deposit is a group of the metamorphic rocks mentioned above. Gold-silver bearing quartz vein contains small amounts of pyrite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, galena and sphalerite in which gold and silver occur as native state. The vein strikes $N30^{\circ}{\sim}60^{\circ}E$ and dips $20^{\circ}{\sim}50^{\circ}S$ and the average width of the vein is estimated 1 to 1.5m. Average grade of ore is Au:6~8gr/t and Ag:5~6gr/t. The ore shoot continues from the outcrop to the depth of -1760ML with dip of $20{\sim}25^{\circ}$ and strike extension reaches to 400m at the depth of -1440 ML and to more or less 200m at below. Highgrade of ore vein was found at the lowest level of the ore shoot at the time of recent field survey at the end of August 1970. Its average grade was estimated as Au:20gr/t and its width 1~2.5M in average. A series of futher prospecting for other new ore shoot or parallel veins are urgent and crosscut prospecting along the horizontal level is strongly recommended.
Korean terminologies on stem structures in plant morphology, written incorrectly in many books, were analysed to propose accurately expressed terminologies. 35 books in areas such as general biology, plant biology, plant morphology, and biological dictionaries and glossaries were selected to analyse the accuracy of the terminologies for seed structures, e.g., shoot and shoot system, rhizome, apical dominance, anticlinal and periclinal divisions, and intercalary and lateral meristems. The definition and etymology of the terminologies were traced in 4 textbooks of plant anatomy and 2 dictionaries of biology and botany written in English. On the basis of the definition, etymology, and principles for terminology formation according to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 704:2000), reasonably expressed Korean terminologies were proposed. All of the 8 terminologies examined in this study were included in the glossary of biological terminologies, published by the Korean Association of Biological Sciences in 2005, and designated as an editorial source for science and biology textbooks for middle and high schools by Ministry of Education in 2007. However, the only 1 of the 8 terminologies described in the glossary were consistent with the proposed expression in the present study. These inconsistencies indicated the need for a reassessment of this glossary of biological terminologies. The validity of the proposed Korean terminologies was tested in a questionnaire sent to 17 professors teaching plant morphology or/and taxonomy at universities. A mean of 91.9% of the total respondents agreed with the Korean expressions proposed in this study. The new, proposed terminologies would facilitate mutual understanding between teachers and students of plant biology.
This study was conducted to find out a proper cutting time as related with a growth pattern for the mass propagation of Corylopsis coreana, which is one of the Korean endemic plant. New shoots began to grow in early April soon after end of blooming time and grew rapidly until the end of June. Shoot growth became dull after June and stopped in early September, showing a typical primary growth curve of temperate deciduous trees which show only one flush of growth throughout an annual growth cycle. The moisture content of shoot was the highest in an early growing season of May, and decreased with shoot maturity. Moisture content of cuttings taken on June 20 was 71.2%. Rooting was better in softwood cuttings than in hardwood cuttings. The highest value of rooting percentage was obtained in cuttings taken on June 20.
Cupressinocladus sp. found from the upper part of the Jinju Formation of the Shindong Group, Korea is described here based on the newly found leafy shoots. This species is characterized by the branched leafy shoot with decussate scale leaves. The presence of Cupressinocladus in the Jinju Formation indicates that the Early Cretaceous flora-sites in Eastern Eurasia are in a close association with territories of the mixed-type floras. The finding of this species records the first report for the Nakdong flora.

Recently, the development of ICT technology and the spread of smart devices have been applied to various industries using real world and augmented reality technologies. Currently, smartphone photography programs are always using fixed content. Augmented reality technology was used to capture the new concept and real-time situational picture of the young generation. Photographing technology using such augmented reality can cope with various concepts and the position and pose of the user. This paper aims to develop photography contents using augmented reality. In this paper, using augmented reality, combining past photographs with real world, and developing content that can be photographed are reviewed.
We determined the structure of main saponin which extracted from the shoot of Aralia Elata. The results were as follows. 1. The main aglycons and suger of the total saponins of Nr2 sample were identified as oleanolic acid and hederagenin, and glucose, arabinose and rhamnose. A probable new aglycon was isolated and inferred as 1, 3-methylenedioxy-3-dehydroxyoleanolic acid. 2. One compound of Fh saponin (named as Elatoside $Fh_2$) which was obtained first in this species was elucidated as 3-O-$({\alpha}-L-arabinopyranosyl(1{\rightarrow}2)-{\beta}-D-gluco-pyranosyl)$-28-O-${\beta}-D-glucophyranosyl$ oleanolic acid on the basis of chemical and spectral evidence of IR, $^1H$, $^{13}C-NMR$ and MS.
The study was carried out to investigate the effect of ethrel (2-chloroethylphosophonic acid, 39%) on the graftages quality. Ethrel was sprayed 5 days interval from October 10 to October 30 at 6 places (Suwon (I), (II), Chungju, Kongju, Wanju, Jangsong). Spraying conentration was 1, 000 ppm (400 times dilution). 1. Spray took 3.3 hrs and 500 m of ethrel on 10a eara. 2. The passed rate of graftages decreased 5-8% on the treatments earlier spray than on October 20. 3. New shoot length and number of shoot of the ethrel treatments were the same as the natural leaf falling.
