  • This paper presents magnetic field analysis technology that uses a vector magnetic characteristic. Recently the magnetic material was found to be measurable using the vector quantity technique. Therefore considering the anisotropy of the magnetic material in the vector field analysis is necessary. The magnetic field analysis method, which is considered the anisotropy by combining the finite element method with the E&$S^2$ (Enokizono, Soda, and Shimoji) modeling, is applied to a permanent magnet motor model.

  • In contrast to the $\pi$ -conjugated polymers which typically absorb light only in the visible spectral region, the $\sigma$-conjugated polymers can be used as efficient material absorbing light in the UV region. In this work, the electronic and optical properties of I$_2$-doped $\sigma$ -conjugated poly (methyl-phenylsilylene) (PMPSi) polymer were investigated. DC conductivity up to 1.2$\times$10$^{-4}$ S/cm was obtained by I$_2$-doping. In UV/Vis absorbance spectrum, a new peak was observed near 370 nm, which was explained by polaron model. The photoluminescence (PL) intensity decreased with increasing degree of I$_2$-doping, and the Infrared (IR) spectrum analysis revealed that the dopants are not directly coupled to the polymer, but effect motions of the methyl and phenyl groups.

  • This research aims at proposing new space design model with eco-friendly material, paper, for sustainable life mode. As pro-natural paper which is feasible for secondary processing in interior design, it's significance lies in its easy adaptability to nature and depreciation of environment pollution. The target space which needs alterability is designed with corrugated paper as its eco-friendly and changeable features as corrugated paper made out of wood pulp would return to nature after decomposition. If the material will be recycling, reuseable, and renewable which are eco-friendly and durable, then sustainable space design would be created.

  • New methods of nano-sized material and composite coating preparations have been considered on the base of mathematical model of abrasion-reaction interaction of milling and grinding bodies in planetary centrifugal mill. The essence of the method is the abrasive and oxidative wear of the milling bodies and amorphous (better inert) additives. Interactions between them has been supplied the necessary impulse of pressure and temperature on the impact-frictional contacts and promoted chemical processes. The offered method can find application for such processing as sintering and geological minerals opening.

  • Considering material handling delay which occurs between storage and processing stations, we propose an algorithm to estimate the required storage capacity, i.e., number of aisles and number of openings in vertical and horizontal directions in each aisle, of an automated storage/retrieval(AS/R) system. Due to the random nature of storage and retrieval requests, proportion of single and dual commands is not known in advance. Two design criteria, maximum permissible overflow probability and maximum allowable storage/retrieval(S/R) machine utilization, are used to compute the storage capacity. Most of studies assume that storage capacity of AS/R systems is given, although it is a very important decision variable in the design phase. Therefore, the proposed model can be effectively used in the design phase of new AS/R systems.

  • In this article, we explore the issue concerning semiconductors half-space comprised of materials with varying thermal conductivity. The problem is within the framework of the generalized thermoelastic model under one thermal relaxation time. The half-boundary space's plane is considered to be traction free and is subjected to a thermal shock. The material is supposed to have a temperature-dependent thermal conductivity. The numerical solutions to the problem are achieved using the finite element approach. To find the analytical solution to the linear problem, the eigenvalue approach is used with the Laplace transform. Neglecting the new parameter allows for comparisons between numerical findings and analytical solutions. This facilitates an examination of the physical quantities in the numerical solutions, ensuring the accuracy of the proposed approach.

  • A new finite element model will be presented to analyze the nonlinear behavior of not only RC beams and slabs, but also RC beams strengthened by a patch repair. The numerical approach is based on the p-version degenerate shell element including theory of anisotropic laminated composites, theory of materially and geometrically nonlinear plates. In the nonlinear formulation of this model, the total Lagrangian formulation is adopted with large deflections and moderate rotations being accounted for in the sense of von Karman hypothesis. The material model is based on hardening rule, crushing condition, plate-end debonding strength model and so on. The Gauss-Lobatto numerical quadrature is applied to calculate the stresses at the nodal points instead of Gauss points. The validity of the proposed p-version finite element model is demonstrated through several numerical examples for the load-deflection curves, the ultimate loads, and the failure modes of reinforced connote slabs and RC beams bonded with steel plates or FRP plates compared with available experimental and numerical results.

  • According to the traditional Korean medicine (TKM), kidney has been recognized as the roof of innate endowment because it plays an important role in the birth, growth, sexual reproduction, and aging. Kidney essence insufficiency syndrome (KEIS) is caused when kidney is impaired. KEIS is characterized by retarded development, decreased reproduction, tinnitus, loosening of teeth, and loss of hair and forgetfulness. In traditional Chinese medicine, KEIS mouse model was established by use of threatinjuring the kidney combined with over-fatigue. However, the TKM theory-based KEIS experiment model has not been described correctly. In the present study, we suggest a new KEIS experiment model including following cases; 1) weakness of father essence and mother blood, 2) life nurturing during pregnancy, 3) full-term gestation period.

  • In this article, free vibration attributes of double-walled carbon nanotubes based on nonlocal elastic shell model have been investigated. For this purpose, a nonlocal Flügge shell model is established to observe the small scale effect. The wave propagation is employed to frame the governing equations as eigenvalue system. The influence of nonlocal parameter subjected to different end supports has been overtly examined. A suitable choice of material properties and nonlocal parameter been focused to analyze the vibration characteristics. The new set of inner and outer tubes radii investigated in detail against aspect ratio and length. The dominance of boundary conditions via nonlocal parameter is shown graphically. The results generated furnish the evidence regarding applicability of nonlocal shell model and also verified by earlier published literature.

  • A hybrid model has been developed which adopts a fluid model for electrons and a particle-in-cell (PIC) model for ions. Using the hybrid simulation, the discharge characteristics are investigated with the diagnostics for the electric field and the wall charge profile, density distributions of charged and excited particles, distributions of ultraviolet lights on phosphor, and the visible lights emitted from the PDP cell. Also, energy and angle distributions of the ions at the MgO protective layer are obtained for the analysis of material effect. The comparison of hybrid simulation results with experimental results as well as that with the conventional fluid simulation shows that the new model is more adequate for the simulation of PDP cells.
