Real-time Image Transmission on the Internet Using Wavelet Transform and Neural Network (웨이블릿변환과 신경회로에 의한 칼라 동영상의 실시간 전송)

  • In this paper we discuss an algorithm for a real time transmission of moving color images on the TCP/IP network using wavelet transform and neural network. The image frames received from the camera are two-level wavelet-transformed in the server, and are transmitted to the client on the network. Then, the client performs the inverse wavelet-fransform using only the received pieces of each image frame within the prescribed time limit to display the moving images. When the TCP/IP network is busy, only a fraction of each image frame will be delivered. When the line is free, the whole frame of each image will be transferred to the client. The receiver warns the sender of the condition of traffic congestion in the network by sending a special short frame for this specific purpose. The sender can respond to this condition of warning by simply reducing the data rate which is adjusted by a back-propagation neural network. In this way we can send a stream of moving images adaptively adjusting to the network traffic condition.

  • This paper describes a road-following controller using the proposed neural network for autonomous vehicle. Road-following with visual sensor like camera requires intelligent control algorithm because analysis of relation from road image to steering control is complex. The proposed neural network, relative similarity modular network(RSMN), is composed of some learning networks and a partitioniing network. The partitioning network divides input space into multiple sections by similarity of input data. Because divided section has simlar input patterns, RSMN can learn nonlinear relation such as road-following with visual control easily. Visual control uses two criteria on road image from camera; one is position of vanishing point of road, the other is slope of vanishing line of road. The controller using neural network has input of two criteria and output of steering angle. To confirm performance of the proposed neural network controller, a software is developed to simulate vehicle dynamics, camera image generation, visual control, and road-following. Also, prototype autonomous electric vehicle is developed, and usefulness of the controller is verified by physical driving test.

  • Currently, Internet is used an essential tool in the business area. Despite this importance, there is a risk of network attacks attempting collection of fraudulence, private information, and cyber terrorism. Firewalls and IDS(Intrusion Detection System) are tools against those attacks. IDS is used to determine whether a network data is a network attack. IDS analyzes the network data using various techniques including expert system, data mining, and state transition analysis. This paper tries to compare the performance of two data mining models in detecting network attacks. They are decision tree (C4.5), and neural network (FANN model). I trained and tested these models with data and measured the effectiveness in terms of detection accuracy, detection rate, and false alarm rate. This paper tries to find out which model is effective in intrusion detection. In the analysis, I used KDD Cup 99 data which is a benchmark data in intrusion detection research. I used an open source Weka software for C4.5 model, and C++ code available for FANN model.

HiGANCNN: A Hybrid Generative Adversarial Network and Convolutional Neural Network for Glaucoma Detection

  • Glaucoma is a chronic neuropathy that affects the optic nerve which can lead to blindness. The detection and prediction of glaucoma become possible using deep neural networks. However, the detection performance relies on the availability of a large number of data. Therefore, we propose different frameworks, including a hybrid of a generative adversarial network and a convolutional neural network to automate and increase the performance of glaucoma detection. The proposed frameworks are evaluated using five public glaucoma datasets. The framework which uses a Deconvolutional Generative Adversarial Network (DCGAN) and a DenseNet pre-trained model achieves 99.6%, 99.08%, 99.4%, 98.69%, and 92.95% of classification accuracy on RIMONE, Drishti-GS, ACRIMA, ORIGA-light, and HRF datasets respectively. Based on the experimental results and evaluation, the proposed framework closely competes with the state-of-the-art methods using the five public glaucoma datasets without requiring any manually preprocessing step.

  • Wear is one of the main factors causing breakdown and fault of machine, so ferrography technique analyzing wear particles can be an effective way for condition monitoring and fault diagnosis. On the base of the forward multilayer neural network, a nodes self-deleting neural network model is provided in this paper. This network can itself deletes the nodes to optimize its construction. On the basis of the nodes self-deleting neural network, an intelligent ferrography diagnosis expert system (IFDES) for wear particles recognition and wear diagnosis is described. This intelligent expert system can automatically slim lip knowledge by learning from samples and realize basically the entirely automatic processing from wear particles recognition to wear diagnosis.

  • In this paper, we present a wavelet neural network (WNN) approach to the solution of the path tracking problem for mobile robots that possess complexity, nonlinearity and noise. First, we discuss a WNN based control system where the control signals are directly obtained by minimizing the difference between the reference track and the pose of a mobile robot. This compact network structure is helpful to determine the number of hidden nodes and the initial value of weights. Then, the data with various noises provided by odometric and external sensors are here fused together by means of an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) approach for the pose estimation problem of mobile robots. This control process is a dynamic on-line process that uses the wavelet neural network trained via the gradient-descent method with estimates from EKF. Finally, we verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed control system through simulations.

  • Identification of dynamics of short circulation during grade change operations in paper mills is very important for the effective plant operation. In the present study a prediction method of One Pass Retention(OPR) is proposed based on the neural network. The present method is used to analyze the dynamics of short circulation during grade change. Properties of the product paper largely depend upon the change in the OPR. In the present study the OPR is predicted from the training of the network by using grade change operation data. The results of the prediction are applied to the modeling equation to give flow rates and consistencies of short circulation.

  • 네트워크 트래픽 데이터를 정제하여, Convolutional Neural Network Model 훈련에 적합한 데이터 세트로 변환하는데, 그 방법은 패킷 단위의 트래픽 데이터를 이미지 형태로 만드는 것이다. 완성된 데이터 세트를 훈련데이터로 하여 Convolutional Neural Network Model에 훈련하고, 훈련데이터의 이미지 크기를 변환해가며 훈련시킨 결과에 대해 비교 분석 및 평가를 진행한다.

  • Fuzzy neural ship controllers is used in ship steering control. It can make full use of the advantage of all kinds of intelligent algorithms. This provides an efficient way for this paper. An RBF neural network and GA optimization are employed in a fuzzy neural controller to deal with the nonlinearity, time varying and uncertain factors. Utilizing the designed network to substitute the conventional fuzzy inference, the rule base and membership functions can be auto-adjusted by GA optimization. The parameters of neural network can be decreased by using union-rule configuration in the hidden layer of the network. The ship control quality is effectively improved in case of appending additional sea state disturbance. The performance of controller is evaluated by the system simulation using simulink tools.

  • It is shown that there exists a nonlinear mapping which transforms image features and their changes to the desired camera motion without measuring of the relative distance between the camera and the object. This nonlinear mapping can eliminate several difficulties occurring in computing the inverse of the feature Jacobian as in the usual feature-based visual feedback control methods. Instead of analytically deriving the closed form of this mapping, a Fuzzy Membership Function-based Neural Network (FMFNN) incorporating a Fuzzy-Neural Interpolating Network is used to approximate the nonlinear mapping. Several FMFNN's are trained to be capable of tracking a moving object in the whole workspace along the line of sight. For an effective implementation of the proposed FMF network, an image feature selection process is investigated. Finally, several numerical examples are presented to show the validity of the proposed visual servoing method.
