  • Dynamic data possession verification is a common requirement in cloud storage systems. After the client outsources its data to the cloud, it needs to not only check the integrity of its data but also verify whether the update is executed correctly. Previous researches have proposed various schemes based on Merkle Hash Tree (MHT) and implemented some initial improvements to prevent the tree imbalance. This paper tries to take one step further: Is there still any problems remained for optimization? In this paper, we study how to raise the efficiency of data dynamics by improving the parts of query and rebalancing, using a new data structure called Rank-Based Merkle AVL Tree (RB-MAT). Furthermore, we fill the gap of verifying multiple update operations at the same time, which is the novel batch updating scheme. The experimental results show that our efficient scheme has better efficiency than those of existing methods.

  • Cryptography aims at transmitting secure data over an unsecure network in coded version so that only the intended recipient can analyze it. Communication through messages, emails, or various other modes requires high security so as to maintain the confidentiality of the content. This paper deals with IDEA's shortcoming of generating weak keys. If these keys are used for encryption and decryption may result in the easy prediction of ciphertext corresponding to the plaintext. For applying genetic approach, which is well-known optimization technique, to the weak keys, we obtained a definite solution to convert the weaker keys to stronger ones. The chances of generating a weak key in IDEA are very rare, but if it is produced, it could lead to a huge risk of attacks being made on the key, as well as on the information. Hence, measures have been taken to safeguard the key and to ensure the privacy of information.

  • As a transmission network planning should be optimal in the sense of technology, economy and reliability, an adequate optimization tool is required. The simulation model is valuable at this case. It enables the planner to detect the weak points of the system by providing the planner with unsupplied powers, operating cost, and active losses at each substation node and each line. This paper represent the example of application of simulation model for power system planning.

  • Many human inventions were inspired by nature. The artificial neural network is one example. Another example is Genetic Algorithms(GA). GAs search by simulating evolution, starting from an initial set of solutions or hypotheses, and generating successive "generations" of solutions. This particular branch of AI was inspired by the way living things evolved into more successful organisms in nature. To simulate the process of GA in a computer, we must simulate many times according to varying many GA parameters. This paper describes the implementation of Java Package for efficient applications on Genetic Algorithms, called "JavaGA". The JavaGA used as a application program as well as applet provides graphical user interface of assigning major GA parameters.

  • Final disposal of radioactive waste generated from Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) requires the detailed information about the characteristics and the quantities of radionuclides in waste package. Most radionuclides are difficult to measure and expensive to assay. Thus it is suggested to the indirect method by which the concentration of the Difficult-to-Measure (DTM) nuclide is estimated using the correlations of concentration-it is called the scaling factor-between Easy-to-Measure (Key) nuclides and DTM nuclides with the measured concentration of the Key nuclide.(omitted)

  • This paper focuses on design of nonlinear power plant controller using immune based multiobjective fuzzy approach. The thermal power plant is typically regulated by the fuel flow rate, the spray flow rate, and the gas recirculation flow rate. However, Strictly maintaining the steam temperature can be difficult due to heating value variation to the fuel source, time delay changes in the main steam temperature. the change of the dynamic characteristics in the steam-turbine system. Up to the present time, PID Controller has been used to operate this system. However, it is very difficult to achieve an optimal PID gain with no experience, since the gain of the PID controller has to be manually tuned by trial and error. These parameters tuned by multiobjective based on immune network algorithms could be used for the tuning of nonlinear power plant.

  • This paper presents an energy-efficient spatial join algorithm for multiple sensor networks employing a spatial semijoin strategy. For optimization of the algorithm, we propose a GR-tree index and a grid-ID-based spatial approximation method, which are unique to sensor networks. The GR-tree is a distributed spatial index over the sensor nodes, which efficiently prunes away the nodes that will not participate in a spatial join result. The grid-ID-based approximation provides great reduction in communication cost by approximating many spatial objects in simpler forms. Our experiments demonstrate that the algorithm outperforms existing methods in reducing energy consumption at the nodes.

  • Thermal deformation of machine origin of machine tools due to internal and external heat sources has been the most important problem to fabricate products with higher accuracy and performance. In order to solve this problem, GMDH models were constructed to estimate thermal deformation of machine origin for a vertical machining ceneter through measurement of temperature data of specific points on the machine tool. These models are nonlinear equations with high-order polynomials and implemented in a multilayered perceptron type network structure. Input variables and orders are automatically selected by correlation and optimization procedure. Sensors with small influence are deleted automatically in this algorithm. It was shown that the points of temperature measurement can be reduced without sacrificing the estimation accuracy of $\pm$5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. From the experimental result, it was confirmed that GMDH methodology was superior to least square models to estimate the thermal behavior of machine tools.

  • Among the optimization method, GA (genetic algorithm) is a very powerful searching method enough to compete with design sensitivity analysis method. GA is very easy to apply, since it dose not require any design sensitivity information. However, GA has been computationally not efficient due to huge repetitive computation. In this study, parallel computation is adopted to Improve computational efficiency, Paralleled GA is introduced on a clustered LINUX based personal computer system.
