A Design of Transceiver for 13.56MHz RFID Reader using the Peak Detector with Automatic Reference Voltage Generator (자동 기준전압 생성 피크 검출기를 이용한 13.56 MHz RFID 리더기용 송수신기 설계)

  • In this paper, the transceiver for RFID reader using 13.56MHz as a carrier frequency and meeting International Standard ISO 14443 type A, 14443 type B and 15693 is presented. The receiver is composed of envelope detector, VGA(Variable Gain Amplifier), filter, comparator to recovery the received signal. The proposed automatic reference voltage generator, positive peak detector, negative peak detector, and data slicer circuit can adjust the decision level of reference voltage over the received signal amplitudes. The transmitter is designed to drive high voltage and current to meet the 15693 specification. By using inductor loading circuit which can swing more than power supply and drive large current even under low impedance condition, it can control modulation rate from 30 percent to 5 percent, 100 perccnt and drive the output currents from 5 mA to 240 mA depending on standards. The 13.56 MHZ RFID reader is implemented in $0.18\;{\mu}m$ CM08 technology at 3.3V single supply. The chip area excluding pads is $1.5mm\;{\times}\;1.5mm$.

  • Signature based intrusion detection system (IDS), having stored rules for detecting intrusions at the library, judges whether new inputs are intrusion or not by matching them with the new inputs. However their policy has two restrictions generally. First, when they couldn`t make rules against new intrusions, false negative (FN) errors may are taken place. Second, when they made a lot of rules for maintaining diversification, the amount of resources grows larger proportional to their amount. In this paper, we propose the learning algorithm which can evolve the competent of anomaly detectors having the ability to detect anomalous attacks by genetic algorithm. The anomaly detectors are the population be composed of by following the negative selection procedure of the biological immune system. To show the effectiveness of proposed system, we apply the learning algorithm to the artificial network environment, which is a computer security system.

  • In this paper, a 512b MTP memory IP is designed by using MTP memory cells which are written by the FN (Fowler-Nordheim) tunneling method with only MV (medium voltage) devices of 5V which uses the back-gate bias, that is VNN (negative voltage). The used MTP cell consists of a CG (control gate) capacitor, a TG (tunnel gate) transistor, and a select transistor. To reduce the size of the MTP memory cell, just two PWs (P-wells) are used: one for the TG and the select transistors; and the other for the CG capacitor. In addition, just one DNW (deep N-well) is used for the entire 512b memory cell array. VPP and VNN generators supplying pumping voltages of ${\pm}8V$ which are insensitive to PVT variations since VPP and VNN level detectors are designed by a regulated voltage, V1V (=1V), provided by a BGR voltage generator.

  • We propose glass and PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) chips for DNA amplification with continuous-flow PCR (polymerase chain reaction). The PDMS microchannel was fabricated using a negative molding method for sample injection. Three heaters and sensors of ITO (indium-tin-oxide) thin films were fabricated on glass chip. ITO heaters and sensors were calibrated accurately for the temperature control of the liquid flow. ITO heater generated stable heat versus applied power. ITO sensor resistance was changed linearly versus temperature increase as a RTD (resistance temperature detector) sensor. As a result, we enable precision temperature control of continuous-flow PCR chip. Using the continuous-flow PCR chip DNA plasmid pKS-GFP 720 bp was successfully amplified.

Simultaneous Determination of Benzoic Acid, Caffeic Acid and Chlorogenic Acid in Seeds of Eriobotrya japonica and their Antibacterial Effect

  • We aim to develop a simple method for simultaneous and quantitative determination of benzoic acid, caffeic acid and chlorogenic acid in seeds of Eriobotrya japonica. In addition, antibacterial effect of these three phenolic acids was examined. A basic method is performed on the high performance liquid chromatography system coupled to an UV-detector (230 nm) and reverse phase C-18 column ($4.6{\times}150mm$, $5{\mu}m$). Each phenolic acid was confirmed via liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (MS)/MS system under the multiple-reaction monitoring with negative-ion electrospray ionization (ESI(-)) mode. It is demonstrated that the method was could be applied to samples for an analytical study of the phenolic acids. On the other hand, three phenolic acids in seeds of E. japonica exhibited antibacterial effect against several pathogenic bacteria. Of these, benzoic acid was found to have stronger antibacterial effect.

  • A special discharge cell containing a free conducting particle was used to generate the discharges in $SF_6$. The analog bandwidth of the measurement system exceeded 5 GHz. The measured signals were processed to compensate for the response of the measurement system. The discharge current rise time was in the range of 70 ps, while its full-width half-maximum was 120 ps. Single and double current pulses of positive and negative polarities were measured. Likewise, these pulses were compared with the measurement obtained using a conventional partial discharge detector of the IEC60270 type

  • Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) has been used as a self tanning agent and many emulsion formulations containing DHA have been studied. In an emulsion, many factors which have negative effect on DHP and the resultant DHA decomposition can destabilize the emulsion base. In this study, two kinds of emulsion with 5% DHA were prepared, O/W type emulsion and Multilamellavesicle (MLV) type emulsion to compare the stabilization effects of both emulsions on the DHA. The OHA concentration was analyzed quantitatively by high performance liquid Chromatography (HPLC), also the pH and viscosity of both emulsions were measured for stability. This process was carried out over 4 months. For HPLC, a bondaclone $C_{18}$ column with a mobile phase of distilled water and UV detector were used. The results of these experiment showed that DHA is more stable in an MLV emulsion than it is in an O/W type emulsion.

  • 현재 네트워크 보안 취약점을 자동으로 검색해주는 다양한 도구들이 인터넷에 공개되어 있어 이러한 도구들을 이용한 취약점 정보수집 및 네트워크 검색공격으로 비롯된 해킹사고가 크게 증가하고 있다. 이와 같은 검색 공격에 대한 탐지 시스템은 "False-Positive(실제 공격이 아닌데 공격이라고 탐지)"와 "False-Negative(실제 공격인데 공격이 아니라고 탐지)"를 줄이는 것이 중요하다. 그러나 현재 공개되어 있는 실시간 스캔 탐지 시스템은 오탐율이 높을 분만 아니라 다양한 스캔 기법에 대해서 탐지를 할 수 없는 것이 사실이다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 포트스캐닝 기법기반의 공격에 대해서 탐지 가능하고 오탐율을 최소화한 실시간 스캔 탐지 시스템을 구현한다.실시간 스캔 탐지 시스템을 구현한다.

Analysis of Insulation Aging in Operating High Voltage Motors (운전중인 고압전동기에서 절연열화 분석)

  • During normal machine operation, partial discharge(PD) measurements were performed with turbine generator analyzer(TGA) in five high voltage motors(rated 6.6kV). These high voltage motors were installed with 80pF capacitive couplers at the terminal box. The PD patterns were displayed two dimensional and three dimensional. TGA summarizes each plot with two quantities such as the normalized quantity number(NQN) and the peak PD magnitude(Qm). Off-line PD measurements were conducted on five motors. These motors were energized to 3.81kV. The PD levels in pC were measured with a conventional digital PD detector. The comparison of positive to negative PD indicates whether the defect elements of PD are within the insulation or on the insulation surface. Internal discharges were generated in phase A, B and C of COP-B and pulv.-B, in phase B of Pulv. C and in phase C of Pulv.-D motor. Discharge at conductor surface was discovered in phase A of Pulv. D motor. Slot discharges occurred in three phases of Pulv. E motor.

High Performance of SWIR HgCdTe Photovoltaic Detector Passivated by ZnS

  • Short wave infrared (SWIR) photovoltaic devices have been fabricated from metal organic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE) grown n- on p- HgCdTe films on GaAs substrates. The MOVPE grown films were processed into mesa type discrete devices with wet chemical etching employed for meas delineation and ZnS surface passivatlon. ZnS was thermally evaporated from effusion cell in an ultra high vacuum (UHV) chamber. The main features of the ZnS deposited from effusion cell in UHV chamber are low fixed surface charge density, and small hysteresis. It was found that a negative flat band voltage with -0.6 V has been obtained for Metal Insulator Semiconductor (MIS) capacitor which was evaporated at $910^{\circ}C$ for 90 min. Current-Voltage (I-V) and temperature dependence of the I-V characteristics were measured in the temperature range 80 - 300 K. The Zero bias dynamic resistance-area product ($R_{0}A$) was about $7500{\Omega}-cm^{2}$ at room temperature. The physical mechanisms that dominate dark current properties in the HgCdTe photodiodes are examined by the dependence of the $R_{0}A$ product upon reciprocal temperature. From theoretical considerations and known current expressions for thermal and tunnelling process, the device is shown to be diffusion limited up to 180 K and g-r limited at temperature below this.
