Minimum Cost Layout (Expansion) Planning for Telephone Cable Networks of a Single Exchange Area (전화케이블네트워크의 최적 배치(증설) 계획)

  • This paper deals with the problem of determining the capacity expansion timing and sizes of conduits and feeder cables for a given cable network configuration of a single exchange ares, which minimizes the present worth of total costs. The planning horizon is infinite and the demand of line pairs at each cabinet is assumed to be determininstically growing. As a solution method, the heuristic branch-and-bound algorithm of Freidenfelds and Mclaughlin is elaborated by adding details and some minor modifications, which generates a good near-optimal solution with far less computation than would otherwise be possible. We also develop a computer program, which is shown to be effective and efficient through the test run of an illustrative example.

  • Recently, Korea shipping companies have been internally/externally difficult to manage their fleet due to the high price of bunker, wage and low cost of charterage and freight. To solve these problems, some shipping companies have tried to set up a new business regarding offshore plant supply vessel(OSV). Owing to the absence of big oil field near the Korea coast, OSV market has not been gradually progressing as far. This study intends to review the legal review of both international and municipal law for the OSV. Therefore I have provided basic legal information to the domestic shipping companies which have desired to enter the OSV's market and suggest legal revision harmoniously to identify the problem in the municipal law.

  • In this study, a new fictitious play (FP) procedure is presented to solve two-person zero-sum (TPZS) Blotto games. The FP solution procedure solves TPZS games by assuming that the two players take turns selecting optimal responses to the opponent's strategy observed so far. It is known that FP converges to an optimal solution, and it may be the only realistic approach to solve large games. The algorithm uses dynamic programming (DP) to solve FP subproblems. Efficiency is obtained by limiting the growth of the DP state space. Blotto games are frequently used to solve simple missile defense problems. While it may be unlikely that the models presented in this paper can be used directly to solve realistic offense and defense problems, it is hoped that they will provide insight into the basic structure of optimal and near-optimal solutions to these important, large games, and provide a foundation for solution of more realistic, and more complex, problem

A Study on ECLMS Algorithm with Robustness for Echo Cancellation in Double-Talk Environment (동시통화 환경에서 강인한 반향제거 성능을 가진 ECLMS 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In the double-talk situation where both the near-end and far-end signal present, the performance of echo cancellation using the NLMS algorithm is degraded easily since it freezes the adaptation in this situation. To solve this problem, which utilize the correlation function values of input signal instead of the input signal itself, have been proposed. Because this algorithm could be used to adapt the filter's parameters continuously even in the double-talk situation, give good convergence property compared with the NLMS. In this paper, we compare and analyze its performance. The computer simulation was performed and the results showed as that ECLMS algorithms were robust and kept the desirable performance even in the double-talk situation.

Recently CLMS and ECLMS algorithms were proposed to solve this problem. These algorithms could be used to adapt the filter´s parameters continuously even in the double-talk situation.   • In this paper, we calculate average bit error probabilities of asynchronous hybrid DS/FH-SSMA systems in AWGN chnnel and nonselective Rayleigh fading channel. We analyze and compare the performance of systems in AWGN channel and Rayleigh fading channel by using linear correlation receiver and hard limiting correlation receiver(nonlinear correlation receiver). Binary PSK scheme is considered and random spreading code sequences and random hopping patterns are used. Bit error probabilities of the systems with/without near-far problem under the same bandwidth expansion are calculated. the result shows that the performance of hard limiting correlation receiver is better than that of linear correlation receiver over nonselective Rayleigh fading channel.

  • Computational integral imaging(CII) has the advantage of generating the volumetric information of the 3D scene without optical devices. However, the reconstruction process of CII requires increasingly larger sizes of reconstructed images and then the computational cost increases as the distance between the lenslet array and the reconstructed output plane increases. In this paper, to overcome this problem, we propose a novel CII method using a depth conversion technique. The proposed method can move a far 3D object near the lenslet array and reduce the computational cost dramatically. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, we carry out the preliminary experiment and its results are presented.

  • Wireless power transfer is a technique that supplies the necessary power to the various electronic devices over the air without wires. The technology is classified as near-field wireless power transfer technology using inductive coupling and far-field wireless power transfer technology using antenna. In this paper, RTLS tag for high-precision positioning and wireless power transfer module was designed in order to solve the power supply problem for facility management. was designed for high-precision positioning is possible RTLS tags and wireless charging. The wireless charging pad provides the capability to charge up to four devices using he magnetic resonance system.

  • performance of the cellular CDMA overlay system is analyzed which shares the same band with existing microwave narrowband system to enhance the spectral efficiency. To suppress the interfreence from narrowband system, we used a linear predicition filter that adopts the adaptive least mean square algorithm. Alalyzing the performance in the Personal Communication Services channel, characterized as a multipath Rician fadng channels, we considered the power control to solve the near-far problem, and-off and multipath diversity. We also considered interleaving and channel coding to improve BER performance of the CDMA system.
