Numerical Analysis of Turbulent Flows in the Scroll Volute of Centrifugal Compressor (벌류트 압축기내의 난류유동 수치해석)

  • The flow analysis was made by applying the turbulent models in the scroll volume of centrifugal compressor. The $k-{\varepsilon}.\;k-{\omega}$, Spalart-Allmaras and reynolds stress models are used in which the hybrid grid is applied for the simulation. The velocity vector the Pressure contour. the change of residual along the iteration number. and the dynamic head are simulated by solving the Navier-Stokes equations for the comparison of four example cases.

  • 수리학에서 다루는 유체 현상은 물과 공기의 경계면인 자유수면을 포함할 때가 많다. 수표면의 곡률이 작은 경우에는 정수압 가정이 적절하지만, 그렇지 않은 경우에는 비정수압 분포를 고려하여야 한다. 이와 같은 문제에서는 수심적분된 천수방정식이 아닌, 네비어-스토크스 방정식(Navier-Stokes equations)에 의존해야 할 때가 많다. 특성이 다른 두 유체, 예를 들면, 물과 공기, 물과 기름과 같이 섞이지 않는 두 유체의 모의를 위하여 본 연구에서는 레블? 기법을 적용하였다. 고전적인 문제인 댐파괴 문제에 적용하여 이를 실험결과, 기존 수치모델링 결과와 비교하여 이의 효율성을 확인하였다.

  • Fluid is an effective element in computer animation. Recently, the techniques from CFD have been actively applied to CG production. In this paper, we describe our fluid animation system which implements a variety of established simulation and rendering methods. We also explain our new techniques such as chemical reaction and hardware-assisted fluid animation that are being developed to enhance the features of our software system.

Direct Numerical Simulation of 3-Dimensional Axial Turbulent Boundary Layers with Spanwise Curvature

  • Direct numerical simulation has been used to study turbulent boundary layers with convex curvature. A direct numerical simulation program has been developed to solve incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in generalized coordinates with the finite volume method. We considered two boundary layer thicknesses. When the curvature effect is small, mean velocity statistics show little difference with those of a plane channel flow. Turbulent intensity decreases as curvature increases. Contours suggest that streamwise vorticities are strong where large pressure fluctuations exist.

  • The characteristics of asymmetric vortex and side force of tangent-ogive-cylinder flight vehicle at high angles of attack have been performed by using upwind Navier-Stokes method with the ${\kappa}-{\omega}$ turbulence model. And Asymmetric transition positions are considered for generation of asymmetric vortex.

  • We present an application of the variational multiscale methodology to the computation of concentric annular pipe flow. Isogeometric analysis is utilized for higher order approximation of the solution using Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) functions. The ability of NURBS to exactly represent curved geometries makes NURBS-based isogeometric analysis attractive for the application to the flow through the curved channel.

  • 전통적인 VOF 기법을 이용한 내부 조파 방법을 레블셋 기법에 적용하였다. 기하학적으로 유리한 유한요소법을 이용하여, Navier-Stokes 방정식의 공간차분에는 Characteristic Galerkin 기법을, 시간차분에는 Fractional Four-step 기법을 적용하였다. 중심(x=0)에서 전파하는 경우, 외부조파에 의한 영역내 재반사 문제가 해결되어 선형파를 의도한 바대로 잘 조파할 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop the CFD code to consider the viscous flow features of the marine propeller. The flow of the marine propeller has been numerically analyzed by using three dimensional viscous incompressible Navier-Stokes equation. The model used in this study is Screw B with 4 blades whose pitch ratio is 1 in Ka-4-55 screw series. The result of the analysis was compared with panel method.

  • We study the periodic homogenization of the non-stationary Stokes equations. The fundamental homogenization theorem and corrector theorem are proved under a very general assumption on the viscosity coefficients and data. The proofs are based on a weak formulation suitable for an application of classical Tartar's method of oscillating test functions. Such a weak formulation is derived by adapting an argument in Teman's book [Navier-Stokes Equations: Theory and Numerical Analysis, North-Holland, Amsterdam, 1984].

  • Numerical simulation code is developed to study the formation of liquid drops from a nozzle into another quiescent liquid. The Navier-Stokes equations for two immiscible, incompressible, Newtonian fluids are solved on a fixed, staggered grid of cylindrical axisymmetric coordinates. Interfacial motion is captured using a Front-Tracking Method. The time variation of interfacial shape simulated by the code is in excellent agreement with experiments. Simulation results show that the viscosity ratio affects the size of the satellite drops.
