  • Earth science is the study to explore the planet in which we live. Among these earth science geology of the area it can be the most critical and important study. However, because of the size and scope is too broad temporal spatial eurona covered in geology is true that many students find difficult about the geology field. In this study, in conjunction with landscape formation of geologic time for the concept to be among the core areas of Geology examined the concept and recognize it as the destination for high school students. Is a test tool for the analysis was adapted for use by Jolley (2010) has developed LIFT (The Landscape Identification and Formation Test). Currently we fix the strip to match the country through a validity check of the curriculum. Results of the study were as follows: First, the ability to check the landscape and formation is expected to estimate the time and the liberal arts students was higher than the natural science students. The reason for this seems to be the influence of learning geographical subjects. Second, the concept of geological time was found to lack both natural science and liberal arts students. The reason is that the students in the previous process because it deals with the concept of geologic time from the top of Earth Science Education II seems to be because there was no chance of learning about geological time. Third, the results confirm the confidence of the students surveyed in the landscape formation time natural science students was higher than liberal arts students. The research measured gender boys higher than girls. Fourth, the students on the landscape and geological time was found to have a number of misconceptions. This appears to be due to the students to feel difficulty in thinking of the concept because the need to understand the abstract geologic time. Therefore, it is necessary just to hold misconceptions about the concept of geology students have through the study of the landscape and geological time.

  • The art subject deals with aesthetic experience within natural environment around and artificial environment, and it represents the experience through formative arts. And it also extends the aesthetic experience by making students appreciation of the works of art. In the main text of this study was studied with the connection with environmental education on the basis of the characteristics of art subject. That is, in the art education there can be an understanding of the harmony between natural environment and artificial one and their relationship and, furthermore, more positive environmental education can be possible by environmental murals, environmental sculpture, environmental design, packing design, poster design, elf through systematic formative arts. In addition, the art education can make students keep sensitivity to the natural and artificial environment through the appreciation of a variety of art works made with a theme of environment or through the appreciation of the works in the environment around our lives. Also, it can lead to acquire the desirable values and attitudes toward the environment by discussing the harmony of environmental development and environmental preservation visually. In the second place, this relation described in detail by each grade according to the contents of the 7th curriculum for the art subject. In the third place, the following were suggested: the goals for the environmental education in the art subject, the direction of environmental education, the organization of contents related to environment and their emphases, and the main teaching and learning methods for environmental education.

  • The decrease in the farming rates of agricultural produce importing countries has led to concerns over stable food supply and food safety and this situation demands a change in awareness on agricultural problems arising from the depletion of natural resources and environmental destruction. To preserve agriculture, importing countries are emphasizing the various roles of agriculture in order to revive its multi-functional aspects. It is obvious that differentiated strategies are needed to create values from agricultural production, and a liberal arts education can play an important role in making these strategies. However, training programs for future agricultural CEOs of the Korea National Agricultural College(KNAC) attaches too much importance on production skill and management rather than focusing on a liberal arts education. On the other hand, Poolmoo Ecological Agriculture Course carried out by Poolmoo Agriculture Technical High School located in Hongseong-Gun, Chungnam Province (which puts a high value on ecological fanning) gives more weight on a liberal arts education, taking up more than 50% of the curriculum. Also, the National Farmers Academy in Japan which reformed its whole system in 2008, has started various liberal arts educational programs. The Academy fosters creative agricultural management, attractive rural development enhancing a comfortable rural life and educates on the future of Japanese food and international environment. It is expected that the ecological and cultural roles of farming will grow in the future. So, what the KNAC needs is to increase its liberal arts educational programs and various cultural experiences in its educational curriculum to promote agricultural marketing with cultural knowledge and sensitivity.

  • In the modern ages when the surroundings of a city has become firm and monotonous this study designed to suggest an direction towards creative approaches to space planning by analyzing the images of interior space with the introduction of natural expressions as an alternative to create original space in order to give vitality to the previous standardized space and to satisfy human beings psychological desire. The results of the analysis as a way of expressing direct indirect and eclectic images using nature a source of arts read that most of the natural expressions show perceptive images strongly that natural elements can become the elements of design in any form and that nature's images are expressed by not only natural and artificial materials. In conclusion natural expression in interior space does not have any fixed form of expression but gives a great deal of vocabulary to the image formation of interior space by stimulating being's sentiment with the spatial restructure of nature's own particular order of form.

  • This study considers expression techniques and aesthetic values in the images of head dress reflected in a natural motif. The conclusions of the study are as follows. The first type is the realistic expression (52.4%) such as the reproduction of a natural object's essential form (27.0%), the partial derivation of the natural object (19.3%), and the planarization for the actual image of the natural object (6.1%). The second type is a metaphorical expression (39.0%) which emphasizes the morphological characteristics of nature (18.2%), the structuration of the natural object's silhouette into a three-dimensional or two-dimensional form (11.5%), and the abstract expression of the form in the natural object (9.3%). The third type is a hybrid expression (8.6%) that is a compromise between practical (or metaphorical expressions) so that expression techniques represent a compromise between the natural object's essential form and abstract expression (4.6%) or the combination of the natural object's silhouette into a three-dimensional or a two-dimensional visualization (4.0%). Aesthetic head dress values reflected in the natural motif first indicate a primitive value. This state of natural instinct recreates the natural object or combines part of the biological elements of the natural object to create an inducement to escape from the practical world. The second is amusement in the expression of animals in dynamic and humorous forms creates an illusion of animals being alive with a representative playful enjoyment. The third is abstraction that grant freedom in the observer's aesthetic rational through a reinterpretation of the fashion designer. The fourth is eclecticism where a compromise represents an act of mixing a variety of independent factors to create harmony with the imagery of nature created through the grafting of diverse expression techniques that break away from stereotypes of existing natural objects to create a type of nature that cultivates new values.

  • The aim of this study is to establish an object of environmental education in liberal arts, and to develop a teaming program and search for the most effective environmental teaching method. At first this study analyzed the current situations and problems of the present environmental education in the liberal arts. As a result of this analysis, I found that, most of environmental educations have been conducted mainly by an approach of natural science, inevitably they should have limits in which students can't have holistic view in solve the environmental problem. Due to the fact that, many students were attending lectures, teaching methods were limited in the forms lecture and video tapes. As I applied educational programs with various teaching methods for students in order to change cognition and value toward environment, I found that there was no significant difference of cognition even after applying the programs. This may be interpreted as, most students already had very sound and sustainable environmental view. But some programs with teaching method using role play, debate, cyber-debate lead students to have interest in environments, thus actively participating in the class. These methods, taking into consideration, the hundreds of enrolled students, seem to pose a problem in actual application. The most important matter is, how to develop a cognition and value toward environment into environmental behavior. Therefore, in the future, aim is to study what determines the factors for causing environmental behavior from a cognition and value of the environment, and a development of programs in this regard will be necessary.

  • The production of nonwoven fabrics from natural fibers is already expanding at an industrial level for simple curvature semi-structural part in the automotive industry. To develop their use for technical applications, this paper provides an experimental study of the mechanical behavior of flax-fiber nonwoven preforms. A comparison between different sets of carded needle-punched nonwoven has been used to study the influence of manufacturing parameters such as fibers' directions, the area and the needle punching densities. We have found that the anisotropy observed between both directions can be reduced depending on these parameters. Furthermore, this work investigates the possibility to form double curvature parts such as a hemisphere as well as a more complex shape such as a square box which possesses four triple curvature points. We propose a forming process adapted to the features of the nonwoven structure. The purpose is to determine their behavior under high stress during various forming settings. The preforming tests allowed us to observe in real time the manufacturing defects as well as the high deformability potential of flax nonwoven.

  • A green spectrophotometric method for the determination of cyanide has been proposed using, a green reagent, aqueous extract of blue butterfly pea. The test tube was filled with anthocyanin rich extract (pH 6) and cyanide solution. The reaction was kept constant for 10 minutes at room temperature. The reaction mixture changed color from blue to green as the amount of CN-ions increased. The 620 nm peak intensity increased with CN concentration. Therefore, this wavelength was used for all cyanide analyses. The cyanide calibration curve had a linear range of 0.25-1.00, 1.00-4.00, and 4.00-10.00 mg/L, with a satisfactory correlation coefficient of 0.99 and a LOD of 0.57 mg/L. The recovery ranged from 8.33 to 76.94 percent, indicating that this method is inaccurate at low cyanide concentrations. The intra-day and intermediate precision relative deviations were 0.391-0.871 % and 1.112-1.583 %. An H-bond forms between the C-4 group of the B-carbonyl ring and the HCN molecule according to the B3LYP/TZVP calculation. The method is convenient for cyanide concentrations above the LOQ of 1.09 mg/L, cost-effective, and capable of reducing toxic solvents with acceptable precision. The method could also be used to detect total cyanide in biological, environmental, and industrial waste samples.

  • This paper explores the possibility, and suggests an experimental procedure, of industrial application of traditional textile design techniques, such as hand silkprinting and natural dyeing. Theoretical and traditional background of this study is William Morris and his followers' Arts and Crafts Movement from the late 19th century to the early 20th century, which laid the philosophical as well as technical foundations of modern textile design tradition. Based on the basic understanding of the design philosophy, and starting from the design techniques of Morris and his successors, I made some experimental and systematic color plans reflecting and exploiting the physical traits and structure of jacquard woven silk material fabrics. And I applied hand silkscreen printing techniques on the jacquard silk fabrics of my own making, while testing various color combinations of natural dyes. After finishing final processing of design samples, I could get textile design products which met the criteria of my original expectation, i.e., eco-friendly and aesthetic design samples that can also be produced in automatized mass production system of contemporary textile industry. The conclusion of this experimental study is that I can expect the natural dyeing techniques, jacquard silk fabrics design techniques, silkprinting techniques, and the basic processes used in this study to be safely applied for contemporary commercial textile industry utilizing automatized silkscreen printing system and digital printing devices.
