The vision of ubiquitous computing is becoming a reality now .Service discovery in ubiquitous environment, as well as adding semantics to the data is quite established. But, not many researchers have thought about the management of these devices. We envisage that by integrating SNMP with service discovery protocols, we could leverage the use of management factors (like performance, fault and security management etc) in the business, organizations, and other multi-user environments.

The mathematical foundations of the compressive sensing which goes against the common wisdom of data acquisition (the Nyquist-Shannon theorem) is reviewed. The compressive sensing asserts that one can reconstruct images or signals of interest accurately from a number of samples far smaller than the desired resolution of the image (e.g., the number of pixels in the image). The compressive sensing has far reaching implications. It suggests the new data acquisition protocols that translates analog information to digital form with fewer sensors considered necessary.

이 논문에서는 기존 연구 활동에 쓰이는 NS-2 시뮬레이터와 최근 대만의 National Chiao Tung University에서 개발하여 주목을 받고 있는 네트워크 시뮬레이터인 NCTUns에서 On-Demand 방식의 Ad Hoc 라우팅 프로토콜 중 AODV와 DSR의 성능을 분석하여 그 결과를 논하였다. NCTUns의 경우 작은 규모의 실험에서는 원할 한 성능을 보여주지만 노드수가 증가하면 불안정한 성능을 보여준다. 그러나 NS-2의 경우 NCTUns가 보여준 문제점 없이 원할 한 통신을 보여준다. 이에 앞으로의 실험에서는 Ad Hoc 관련 실험에서 보다 안정적인 성능을 보이고 있는 NS-2의 프로토콜 모듈을 NCTUns에 보강하면 보다 안정적인 시뮬레이터가 될 것으로 기대한다.

Bruxism is defined as a parafunctional activity during sleep or while awake that includes locking and grinding of teeth and clenching. It generates excessive occlusal force that may lead to implant failure. Therefore, diagnosis of bruxism and providing specific protocols such as occlusal splint and/or injection of botulinum toxin before implant installation are important to prevent increases the risk of implant failure in bruxism patients.

본 논문에서는 무선 랜과의 인터워킹 등 새로운 특징을 갖는 주요 기능들을 추가하기 위한 기반 시스템인 3G Evolution 시스템 개발에 필요한 액세스 시스템 내의 서브 시스템인 RRCS(Radio Resource Control Subsystem)를 구현 및 검증하기 위하여 단말-기지국간 무선 액세스 프로토콜을 형식 기술 언어인 SDL(Specification and Description Language)을 이용해 구현하였다. 여기서 효율적 시스템 설계를 위해 복잡한 각 메시지 처리 함수는 C 언어를 이용해 라이브러리화하고 이를 SDL 시스템 내에서 호출하도록 지원하는 방법을 사용했다.

Design of efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols with both high throughput performances is a major focus in distributed contention-based MAC protocol research. In this paper, we propose an efficient contention-based MAC protocol for wireless Local Area Networks, namely, the Developed Collision Resolution (DCR) algorithm. This algorithm is developed based on the following innovative ideas: to speed up the collision resolution, we actively redistribute the backoff timers for all active nodes; to reduce the average number of idle slots, we use smaller contention window sizes for nodes with successful packet transmissions and reduce the backoff timers exponentially fast when a fixed number of consecutive idle slots are detected. We show that the proposed DCR algorithm provides high throughput performance and low latency in wireless LANs.

This paper presents a system design which allows monitoring and control of office electrical equipments and devices using senor network through the use of 3G network. The system uses SMS and Email protocols by smart phones to pass information and can be utilized in many scenarios and variety of parameters in which monitoring is desired. The combination of sensors, algorithms and web service are used to generate useful information efficiently and at low cost for the user connected to internet. The information passed is independent of the location of the office users and therefore effective information transfer is achieved from which users can monitor and perform necessary actions to the situations back in the office.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of acute transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on the isokinetic muscular endurance of the lower extremity for young adults. Method: Thirteen young adults performed isokinetic fatigue tasks for two experimental conditions including real tDCS and sham stimulation protocols. Before and after the task, the tensiomyography was used for evaluating muscle contraction characteristics of vastus medialis and semitendinosus. Paired t-test was performed to compare the fatigue index, changes in maximum radial displacement (∆Dm), delay time (∆Tc), and velocity of contraction (∆Vc) between tDCS conditions. Results: We found no significant differences in the fatigue index between real and sham conditions. In addition, the analyses identified no significant different values of ∆Dm, ∆Tc, and ∆Vc in the vastus medialis and semitendinosus between real and sham conditions. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the tDCS protocols may have no acute effect on lower limb muscle endurance for young adults. Future studies should consider the long-term effects of repetitive tDCS sessions, various stimulation positions, exercise tasks, and participant characteristics to more clearly understand the effect of tDCS on muscle endurance of lower extremities.

As diverse synthetic precursors of cyclic adenosine diphosphate ribose (cADPR), several adenosine derivatives in which azido or amino group is introduced at 2'- or 3'-position of the sugar moiety of adenosine were prepared from readily available adenosine via conventional protocols. These synthetic sequence employs very efficient reactions conditions that proceed at or below ambient temperature with actual yields of >80% for each individual step.

The use of dental implants has become a mainstay of rehabilitative and restorative dentistry. With an impressive clinical success rate, there remain a few minor clinical issues with the use of implants such as peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. The use of laser technology with implants has a fascinating breadth of applications, beginning from their precision manufacturing to clinical uses for surgical site preparation, reducing pain and inflammation, and promoting osseointegration and tissue regeneration. This latter aspect is the focus of this review, which outlines various studies of implants and laser therapy in animal models. The use of low level light therapy or photobiomodulation has demonstrated its efficacy in these studies. Besides more research studies to understand its molecular mechanisms, significant efforts are needed to standardize the clinical dosing and delivery protocols for laser therapy to ensure the maximal efficacy and safety of this potent clinical tool for photobiomodulation.
