GDS format files, as well as layout of the chip are noticeably needed so as to analyze the PDN (Power Delivery Network) inside of IC; however, commercial IC in the market has not supported design information which is layout of IC. Within this, in terms of IC having on-chip PDN, characteristic of inside PDN of the chip is a core parameter to predict generated noise from power/ground planes. Consequently, there is a need to scrutinize extraction method for unknown PDN of the chip in this paper. To extract PDN of the chip without IC circuit information, the de-embedding test vehicle is fabricated based on IEC62014-3. Further more, the extracted inside PDN of chip from de-embedding technique adopts the Co-simulation model which composes PCB, QFN (Quad-FlatNo-leads) Package, and Chip for the PDN, applied Co-simulation model well corresponds with impedance from measured S-parameters up to 4 GHz at common measured and simulated points.

To promote the carbon emission trading scheme and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emission as following 'Korean GHG & Energy Target Management System', GHG emissions should be accurately determined in each industrial sector. For the estimation method of GHG emission from waste landfill, there are several error parameters, therefore we reviewed the estimation method and proposed a revised method. Methane generation from landfill must be calculated by the selected method based on methane recovery rate, 0.75. However, this methodology is not considered about uncertainty factor. So it is desirable that $CH_4$ generation is estimated using first order decay model and methane recovery should use field monitoring data. If not, $CH_4$ recovery could be applied from other study results; 0.60 of operational landfill with gas vent and flaring system, 0.65 of operational site with landfill gas recovery system, 0.90 of closed landfill with final cover. Other parameters such as degradable organic carbon (DOC) and fraction of DOC decompose ($DOC_f$) need to derive the default value from studies to reflect a Korean waste status. Proper application of MCF that is selected by operation and management of landfill requires more precise criteria.
Since a large number of Akabane and bovine ephemeral fever (BEF) infection occurred in the southern part of Korea in 2010, recent information about seroprevalence of Akabane virus (AKAV) and bovine ephemeral fever virus (BEFV) has been required for preventing both diseases. In this study, serological assay against AKAV and BEFV using virus neutralization assay was conducted using 1,743 bovine sera collected from Namwon, Miryang, Yeongju and Uljin which located in Southern part of Korea from March to May in 2012. The overall seropositive rates for AKAV and BEFV were found to be 49.8% and 1.2%, respectively. The regional distribution of seroprevalence for AKAV ranged from 18.1% to 63.7%. Seroprevalences of AKAV were 63.7% in Miryang, 62.3% in Uljin, 50.7% in Namwon, and 18.1% in Yeongju. The seropositive rates for AKAV in southern part of Korea were higher than the annual average at the national level. On the other hand, seropositive rates of BEFV in four regions were from 0.3 to 3.1%. In detail, regional seroprevalences were 3.1% in Miryang, 2.0% in Uljin, and 1.7% in Yeongju, and 0.3% in Namwon. Even only one year after massive outbreaks, overall seropositive rates were very low, similar to the annual average at the nation level. This result indicates that many number of cattle infected with BEFV may be replaced by new born calf or cattle in farm may not be immunized with vaccines. To prevent another epidemic, a national wide warning should be issued and more aggressive control measure must be implied. Recent global warming phenomenon could lead to more vigorous activity of haematophagous vectors and it is possible that arboviral diseases such as AKAV and BEFV are increased. Therefore, continuous sero-monitoring and extensive vaccination combined with control of haematophagous vectors are important to effectively prevent and control diseases caused by AKAV and BEFV.
Gintonin, a novel, ginseng-derived G protein-coupled lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptor ligand, elicits $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ transients in neuronal and non-neuronal cells via pertussis toxin-sensitive and pertussis toxin-insensitive G proteins. The slowly activating delayed rectifier $K^+$ ($I_{Ks}$) channel is a cardiac $K^+$ channel composed of KCNQ1 and KCNE1 subunits. The C terminus of the KCNQ1 channel protein has two calmodulin-binding sites that are involved in regulating $I_{Ks}$ channels. In this study, we investigated the molecular mechanisms of gintonin-mediated activation of human $I_{Ks}$ channel activity by expressing human $I_{Ks}$ channels in Xenopus oocytes. We found that gintonin enhances $I_{Ks}$ channel currents in concentration- and voltage-dependent manners. The $EC_{50}$ for the $I_{Ks}$ channel was $0.05{\pm}0.01{\mu}g/ml$. Gintonin-mediated activation 1 of the $I_{Ks}$ channels was blocked by an LPA1/3 receptor antagonist, an active phospholipase C inhibitor, an $IP_3$ receptor antagonist, and the calcium chelator BAPTA. Gintonin-mediated activation of both the $I_{Ks}$ channel was also blocked by the calmodulin (CaM) blocker calmidazolium. Mutations in the KCNQ1 $[Ca^{2+}]_i$/CaM-binding IQ motif sites (S373P, W392R, or R539W)blocked the action of gintonin on $I_{Ks}$ channel. However, gintonin had no effect on hERG $K^+$ channel activity. These results show that gintonin-mediated enhancement of $I_{Ks}$ channel currents is achieved through binding of the $[Ca^{2+}]_i$/CaM complex to the C terminus of KCNQ1 subunit.

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT)-reinforced poly(ethylene-co-ethyl acrylate) (EEA) nanocomposites were prepared by both melt and solution mixing methods. The mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties were investigated as a function of type and loading of CNT. The tensile strength and modulus increased, while elongation at break decreased with increasing MWCNT content. The hollow-type MWCNT showed an improved tensile strength and elongation at break compared with a conventional MWCNT. The thermal degradation temperature was increased by around $40^{\circ}C$ with increasing the amount of MWCNT. The melt-mixed composites showed the highest volume resistivity. In the case of solution-mixed composites, the conventional MWCNT was estimated to show much lower volume resistivity than that of hollow MWCNT. The number and length of extruded CNT onto the fractured surface increased by both increasing the content of CNT and employing the tensile strain to the sample. The melt-mixed specimens showed much smaller number and shorter length of extruded CNT.
Trans-esterification behavior of polycarbonate/poly(butylene terephthalate) (PC/PBT) blends was investigated during the melt mixing process. Rheological and fracture behaviors, and fracture morphology were also investigated as a function of PC/PBT blend ratio. Based on FT-IR and $^1H-NMR$ results, a trans-esterification reaction was confirmed to occur between PC and PBT during the melt mixing process. The melt index(MI) decreased with increased PC content, indicating the higher flow resistance of PC. The storage and loss moduli were increased by increasing the PC loading, and the PC/PBT blends were rheologically incompatible based on the Cole-Cole plot. The tensile property increased linearly with the increased PC content. However, the impact strength increased until 50 wt% of PC loading, notably around $30{\sim}40wt%$, and then was levelled off at 50 wt%. Rough ridges were formed on the impact fracture surfaces above the 40 wt% of PC content, supporting the observed higher impact strength in this range.
In this work, the effect of chemical treatments of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) on the mechanical interfacial properties of carbon fiber fabric-reinforced composites was investigated. The surface properties of the MWNTs were determined by acid and base values, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses. The mechanical interfacial properties of the composites were assessed by interlaminar shear stress (ILSS) and critical stress intensity factor ($K_{IC}$). The chemical treatments based on acid and base reactions led to a significant change of surface characteristics of the MWNTs, especially A-MWNTs/carbon fibers/epoxy composites had higher mechanical properties than those of B-MWNTs and non-treated MWNTs/carbon fibers/epoxy composites. These results were probably due to the improvement of interfacial bonding strength, resulting from the acid-base interaction and hydrogen bonding between the epoxy resins and the MWNT fillers.
Background: Ginseng extracts are known to have angiogenic effects. However, to date, only limited information is available on the molecular mechanism underlying the angiogenic effects and the main components of ginseng that exert these effects. Human umbilical-vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) are used as an in vitro model for screening therapeutic agents that promote angiogenesis and wound healing. We recently isolated gintonin, a novel ginseng-derived lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptor ligand, from ginseng. LPA plays a key role in angiogenesis and wound healing. Methods: In the present study, we investigated the in vitro effects of gintonin on proliferation, migration, and tube formation of HUVECs, which express endogenous LPA1/3 receptors. Results: Gintonin stimulated proliferation and migration of HUVECs. The LPA1/3 receptor antagonist, Ki16425, short interfering RNA against LPA1 or LPA3 receptor, and the Rho kinase inhibitor, Y-27632, significantly decreased the gintonin-induced proliferation, migration, and tube formation of HUVECs, which indicates the involvement of LPA receptors and Rho kinase activation. Further, gintonin increased the release of vascular endothelial growth factors from HUVECs. The cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor NS-398, nuclear factor kappa B inhibitor BAY11-7085, and c-Jun N-terminal kinase inhibitor SP600125 blocked the gintonin-induced migration, which shows the involvement of cyclooxygenase-2, nuclear factor kappa B, and c-Jun N-terminal kinase signaling. Conclusion: The gintonin-mediated proliferation, migration, and vascular-endothelial-growth-factor release in HUVECs via LPA-receptor activation may be one of in vitro mechanisms underlying ginsenginduced angiogenic and wound-healing effects.

In this paper, we propose a novel architecture for seamless mobility management to provide users with seamless Internet connection when users roam between diverse wireless local area networks (WLANS) controlled by different management entities. There have been many researches in IETF, i.e., MIPv6, HMIPv6, and PMIPv6, to provide the mobility management. However, practically since wireless access points or access routers, which are managed by an individual manager or ISP managers, have different authentication scheme and the supported mobility management, the previous mobility management protocol developed by IETF can not guarantee the quality of service of application services as the mobile node performs the handover. To solve this drawback, we propose the mobility management scheme to provide QoS-guaranteed Internet services during the handover by configurating the wireless networks which is defined by users. More specifically, we present a model, the architecture and an algorithm for user-defined network (UDN) to provide the seamless Internet service. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by the network simulation tool.

In membrane covered stent, occlusion and fracture from membrane degradation by gastric acid sometimes occurred. Therefore, we investigated the physical properties of membrane covered stent according to its ingredient and concentration in gastric acid environment. Membrane covered stents consisted of silicone and polyurethane with 15%, 18%, 20% concentrations were used. After incubating stents in a condition of pH 1.2, we checked any changes at every 3 weeks for 18 weeks. The changes of membrane surface, radial expansion and recovery force of stent were investigated. Coating thickness increased proportionally to an increase in ingredient concentration. Surface was evenly coated with silicone compared to the case with polyurethane and its homogeneity was excellent in a high concentration. Degradation was much severe in the case of polyurethane. The radial force of silicone was higher than polyurethane, and the decrease of radial and recovery force was higher in the case of polyurethane. In conclusion, high concentration of silicone membrane was more stable than polyurethane in acid environment of in vitro study.
