  • In this paper, we propose the optimal offset-time decision (OOD) algorithm which can effectively reduce the pre-transmission delay compared to the perfect isolation model, and can also be extended to general n priority classes while the target loss probability of each class is guaranteed for the variable offered load. In order to drive the OOD algorithm, we first analyze the loss probability of each priority class through class aggregation and iteration method; the analytic results obtained through the proposed algorithm are then validated with results garnered from extensive simulation tests.

  • This paper described the forces analysis of a hybrid linear pulse motor (HLPM) with high accuracy and repeatability. The HLPM is fed from a phase current by microstepping drive. The finite element method (FEM) is employed for calculating the force. The forces between mover(forcer) and stator(platen) have been calculated using the virtual work method. The detent force, rate of tooth width to tooth pitch and magnetic saturation were analyzed to considered the distortion characteristics of static thrust. The thrust to displacement produced a high pulsating force while the normal force is much higher than the thrust force.

C by an electron-beam evaporation technique, demonstrated luminance of 175cd/m$\^$2/ and efficiency of 0.311m/W with 3kHz drive. Luminance was increased with the increase of applied voltage and frequency. From the results of the PL spectrum and the EL spectrum, the CaS:Eu, S device showed emission peak near 640nm resulted from the transition of EU$\^$2+/ 4f$\^$6/5d.rarw.4f$\^$7/. • A mathematical methodology is proposed for designing nozzle hole shapes producing controlled geometric cavitation. The proposed methodology uses an unstructured RANS flow solver, with the ability to compute sensitivity derivatives via an adjoint algorithm. The adjoint formulation for the N-S equations is presented while variation of the turbulence viscosity is not taken into account during the geometry modifications. The sensitivities are calculated in a mode independently of the shape parameterisation. The method is used to develop and evaluate conceptual shapes for nozzle hole cavitation reduction. The localized region at the hole inlet producing cavitation, is parameterised using its radius of curvature, while a cost function is formulated to eliminate the negative pressures present at this location. Sensitivity derivatives are used to assess the dependence of the localized region on the minimum pressure, and to drive the geometry to the targeted shape. The results show that the computer model can provide nozzle hole entry shapes that produce predefined flow characteristics, and thus can be used as an inverse design tool for nozzle hole cavitation control.

  • A continuously variable transmission (CVT) with an inner spherical traction drive was conceptually designed for bicycle usage. The range of the overall speed ratio is from 1.0 to 4.5. The rated power and pedal speed are 100 Watts and 6 rad/s, respectively. The peculiar packageability, high-level power efficiency and high torque capacity were considered in the design process. A compact CVT that can be installed within a $244\times125\times160mm^3$ space and is above 0.9 in efficiency for the rated values was numerically designed. The distribution of efficiency according to the input torque and input speed were calculated. Gradeability in the prescribed operation mode was simulated.

  • The electrical characteristics of high power LIGBT implemented by CMOS process are described and compared with those of high voltage LDMOSFET with the same device dimensions. LIGBT has exhibited approximately 8 times superior current drive capability than LDMOSFET. The proposed p+/n+ anode structure resulted in the significant increase of on-state breakdown voltage of LIGBT. Therefore, LIGBT suggested in this paper is one of the promising candidate for smart power IC applications.

  • In this paper, a noncontact type torque meter using silicone rubber to measure the exact torque value and reduce a vibration and a noise, was developed. When planetary gear speed reducer runs, torque, RPM etc.. of motor change according to load or speed change. So, it needs a device to detect load's change or to diagnose the state of thewhole drive department by monitoring these result values. The noncontact type torque meter using silicone rubber that we're trying to develop this time is low-cost and can measure RPM and torque value simply. Also, it caculate a power using this value and indicate them on screen.

  • Distributed control architecture is based on sharing control and data between multiple nodes on a network Communication and task sharing can be distributed between multiple control computers. Although many communication protocols exist, such as TCP/IP and UDP, they do not have the determinism that realtime control demands. Fiber-optic reflective shared memory creates the opportunity for realtime distributed control. This architecture allows control and computational tasks to be divided between multiple systems and operate in a deterministic realtime environment. One such shared memory architecture is based on Curtiss-Wright ScramNET family of fiber-optic reflective memory. MTS has built seismic and structural control software and hardware capable of utilizing ScramNET shared memory, opening up infinite possibilities in research and new capabilities in Hybrid and Model-In-The-Loop control.

  • Research using multiple shake tables present new and unique challenges in controls. Typical single shake table tests with large specimens must cope with significant specimen force feedback that can increase tracking error due to specimen gain, damping, and non-linearity. Multiple shaking tables with distributed specimens can produce cross-coupling forces due to inertial and response effects and forces due to static differential displacements. Although many various control architectures exist, basic simplified techniques can yield excellent results without risk to control stability. Off-line simulation techniques can also prove invaluable for studying system response before the real system is operated.
