  • The set D of column vectors of a generator matrix of a linear code is called a defining set of the linear code. In this paper we consider the problem of constructing few-weight (mainly two- or three-weight) linear codes from defining sets. It can be easily seen that we obtain an one-weight code when we take a defining set to be the nonzero codewords of a linear code. Therefore we have to choose a defining set from a non-linear code to obtain two- or three-weight codes, and we face the problem that the constructed code contains many weights. To overcome this difficulty, we employ the linear codes of the following form: Let D be a subset of 2n, and W (resp. V ) be a subspace of 2 (resp. 2n). We define the linear code D(W; V ) with defining set D and restricted to W, V by $${\mathcal{C}}_D(W;V )=\{(s+u{\cdot}x)_{x{\in}D^{\ast}}|s{\in}W,u{\in}V\}$$. We obtain two- or three-weight codes by taking D to be a Vasil'ev code of length n = 2m - 1(m ≥ 3) and a suitable choices of W. We do the same job for D being the complement of a Vasil'ev code. The constructed few-weight codes share some nice properties. Some of them are optimal in the sense that they attain either the Griesmer bound or the Grey-Rankin bound. Most of them are minimal codes which, in turn, have an application in secret sharing schemes. Finally we obtain an infinite family of minimal codes for which the sufficient condition of Ashikhmin and Barg does not hold.

  • In this paper, we propose performance improvement algorithm for high data rate wireless personal area network (HDR-WPAN) system using turbo code. Turbo code increase detection delay and computation according to iterate counts. However, turbo code has been shown to be very close th the Shanon limit, can be classified as a block-based error correction code. Turbo code has gain about E$_b$/N$_o$=5.8dB at 10$^{-4}$ in the multipath indoor channel. In the result, HDR-WPAN system adopted turbo code has reliable communication by low power.

  • For the fatigue design of offshore structures, it is essential to understand and use the S-N curves specified in various industry standards and codes. This study compared the characteristics of the S-N curves for five major codes. The codes reviewed in this paper were DNV Classification Rules (DNV GL, 2016), ABS Classification Rules (ABS, 2003), British Standards (BSI, 2015), International Welding Association Standards (IIW, 2008), and European Standards (BSI, 2005). Types of stress, such as nominal stress, hot-spot stress, and effective notch stress, were analyzed according to the code. The basic shape of the S-N curve for each code was analyzed. A review of the survival probability of the basic design S-N curve for each code was performed. Finally, the impact on the conservatism of the design was analyzed by comparing the S-N curves of three grades D, E, and F by the five codes. The results presented in this paper are considered to be a good guideline for the fatigue design of offshore structures because the S-N curves of the five most-used codes were analyzed in depth.

  • In this paper, a new multi-group neutron-gamma transport calculation code system STRAUM-MATXST for complicated geometrical problems is introduced and its development status including numerical tests is presented. In this code system, the MATXST (MATXS-based Cross Section Processor for SN Transport) code generates multi-group neutron and gamma cross sections by processing MATXS format libraries generated using NJOY and the STRAUM (SN Transport for Radiation Analysis with Unstructured Meshes) code performs multi-group neutron-gamma coupled transport calculation using tetrahedral meshes. In particular, this work presents the recent implementation and its test results of the Krylov subspace methods (i.e., Bi-CGSTAB and GMRES(m)) with preconditioners using DSA (Diffusion Synthetic Acceleration) and TSA (Transport Synthetic Acceleration). In addition, the Krylov subspace methods for accelerating the energy-group coupling iteration through thermal up-scatterings are implemented with new multi-group block DSA and TSA preconditioners in STRAUM.

  • Large language models (LLMs) have revolutionized various applications in natural language processing and exhibited proficiency in generating programming code. We propose a framework for evaluating the code generation ability of LLMs and introduce a new metric, pass-ratio@n, which captures the granularity of accuracy according to the pass rate of test cases. The framework is intended to be fully automatic to handle the repetitive work involved in generating prompts, conducting inferences, and executing the generated codes. A preliminary evaluation focusing on the prompt detail, problem publication date, and difficulty level demonstrates the successful integration of our framework with the LeetCode coding platform and highlights the applicability of the pass-ratio@n metric.

  • The 123Te(p,n)123I, 124Te(p,n)124I and 124Te(p,2n)123I reactions, among the many reaction channels opened, are the major reactions under consideration from a diagnostic purpose because reaction residuals as the gamma emitters are used for most radiophamaceutical applications involving radioiodine. Based on the available experimental data, the absorption cross sections and elastic scattering angular distributions of the proton-induced nuclear reaction on Te isotopes below 60 MeV are calculated using the optical model code APMNK. The transmission coefficients of neutron, proton, deuteron, trition and alpha particles are calculated by CUNF code and are fed into the GNASH code. By adjusting level density parameters and the pair correction values of some reaction channels, as well as the composite nucleus state density constants of the pre-equilibrium model, the production cross sections and energy-angle correlated spectra of the secondary light particles, as well as production cross sections and energy distributions of heavy recoils and gamma rays are calculated by the statistical plus pre-equilibrium model code GNASH. The calculated results are analysed and compared with the experimental data taken from the EXFOR. The optimized global optical model parameters give overall agreement with the experimental data over both the entire energy range and all tellurium isotopes.

  • In this paper, a method of writing and reproducing high density data with ordinary Audio cassette deck is discribed. In writing, the data N or NRZ code are modulated into PM code to take the positive code N(1) and the negative code N(0) are taken from the complement of the NRZ code, each of which are written into 2 channel track. In reading, the error corrected and the clock pulse can be generated from the reading pulse itself. Also, without modifying the interior circuit of the deck it is possible to use the deck in both the data and audio by adapting a few simple circuits. Over the range of 25HZ-4KHZ, it was possible to write and reproduce at the speed of 787 bps transmission rate.

  • This paper proposes a novel code-tracking scheme to track the fine code synchronization for BOC (pn,n)-modulated global navigation satellite system signals in a repeat-back jamming environment. The correlation function of BOC (pn,n)-modulated signals has several peaks. The correlation function in the advanced offset region remains almost unchanged due to the repeat-back signals being received later than a line-of-sight signal in the same multipath signal receiving case. Additionally, the combined pseudo-random noise signal can be treated as repeat-back jamming signals, like multipath signals. In this paper, we propose a novel code-tracking scheme utilizing the advantages of using a combined pseudo-random noise signal in the advanced offset region and verify its performance through simulation.
