A Note on Derivations in prime rings

  • Derivation은 Lie group, Lie ring 그리고 Lie Algebra에서 정의되어 사용되며 발전하였으며 ring에서 일반화 되었다. 역시 prime ring에서 연구되어지는 derivation의 성질들은 prime near-ring에서 일반화 시키려고 하고 있다. 1957년 E. Posner는 prime ring에서 두 개의 derivation의 곱(함수합성)이 derivation이면 이들중 하나의 derivation이 0임을 밝혔다. 본 논문에서는 prime ring에서 derivation이 연구된 역사적인 배경을 소개하고 몇가지 성질을 찾는다. 즉, D. F를 prime ring R의 derivation들이라 할 때 정수 $n{\ge}1$에 대하여 $DF^n$=0이면 D=0이거나 또는 $F^{3n-1}$=0이고, $D^nF$=0이면 $D^{9n-7}$=0 이거나 또는 $F^2$=0 이다.

SKEW n-DERIVATIONS ON SEMIPRIME RINGS

  • For a ring R with an automorphism ${\sigma}$, an n-additive mapping ${\Delta}:R{\times}R{\times}{\cdots}{\times}R{\rightarrow}R$ is called a skew n-derivation with respect to ${\sigma}$ if it is always a ${\sigma}$-derivation of R for each argument. Namely, if n - 1 of the arguments are fixed, then ${\Delta}$ is a ${\sigma}$-derivation on the remaining argument. In this short note, from Bre$\check{s}$ar Theorems, we prove that a skew n-derivation ($n{\geq}3$) on a semiprime ring R must map into the center of R.

ON GENERALIZED JORDAN DERIVATIONS OF GENERALIZED MATRIX ALGEBRAS

  • Let 𝕽 be a commutative ring with unity, A and B be 𝕽-algebras, M be a (A, B)-bimodule and N be a (B, A)-bimodule. The 𝕽-algebra 𝕾 = 𝕾(A, M, N, B) is a generalized matrix algebra defined by the Morita context (A, B, M, N, 𝝃MN, ΩNM). In this article, we study generalized derivation and generalized Jordan derivation on generalized matrix algebras and prove that every generalized Jordan derivation can be written as the sum of a generalized derivation and antiderivation with some limitations. Also, we show that every generalized Jordan derivation is a generalized derivation on trivial generalized matrix algebra over a field.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with 1, and A a unitary commutative R-algebra. By a derivation module of A, we mean a pair (M, d), where M is an A-module and d: A.rarw.M and R-derivation, i.e., d is an R-linear mapping such that d(ab)=a)db)+b(da). A derivation module homomorphism f:(M,d).rarw.(N, .delta.) is an A-homomorphism f:M.rarw.N such that f.d=.delta.. A derivation module of A, (U, d), there exists a unique derivation module homomorphism f:(U, d).rarw.(M,.delta.). In fact, a universal derivation module of A exists in the category of derivation modules of A, and is unique up to unique derivation module isomorphisms [2, pp. 101]. When (U,d) is a universal derivation module of R-algebra A, the A-module U is denoted by U(A/R). For out convenience, U(A/R) will also be called a universal derivation module of A, and d the R-derivation corresponding to U(A/R).

THE RANGE INCLUSION RESULTS FOR ALGEBRAIC NIL DERIVATIONS ON COMMUTATIVE AND NONCOMMUTATIVE ALGEBRAS

  • Let A be an algebra and D a derivation of A. Then D is called algebraic nil if for any $x{\in}A$ there is a positive integer n = n(x) such that $D^{n(x)}(P(x))=0$, for all $P{\in}\mathbb{C}[X]$ (by convention $D^{n(x)}({\alpha})=0$, for all ${\alpha}{\in}\mathbb{C}$). In this paper, we show that any algebraic nil derivation (possibly unbounded) on a commutative complex algebra A maps into N(A), where N(A) denotes the set of all nilpotent elements of A. As an application, we deduce that any nilpotent derivation on a commutative complex algebra A maps into N(A), Finally, we deduce two noncommutative versions of algebraic nil derivations inclusion range.

b-GENERALIZED DERIVATIONS ON MULTILINEAR POLYNOMIALS IN PRIME RINGS

  • Let R be a noncommutative prime ring of characteristic different from 2, Q be its maximal right ring of quotients and C be its extended centroid. Suppose that $f(x_1,{\ldots},x_n)$ be a noncentral multilinear polynomial over $C,b{\in}Q,F$ a b-generalized derivation of R and d is a nonzero derivation of R such that d([F(f(r)), f(r)]) = 0 for all $r=(r_1,{\ldots},r_n){\in}R^n$. Then one of the following holds: (1) there exists ${\lambda}{\in}C$ such that $F(x)={\lambda}x$ for all $x{\in}R$; (2) there exist ${\lambda}{\in}C$ and $p{\in}Q$ such that $F(x)={\lambda}x+px+xp$ for all $x{\in}R$ with $f(x_1,{\ldots},x_n)^2$ is central valued in R.

  • $Fo{\check{s}}ner$ [4] defined a generalized module left (m, n)-derivation and proved the Hyers-Ulam stability of generalized module left (m, n)-derivations. In this note, we prove that every generalized module left (m, n)-derivation is trival if the algebra is unital and $m{\neq}n$.
