  • This paper generalizes the Aleksandrov problem and Mazur Ulam theorem to the case of $n$-normed spaces. For real $n$-normed spaces X and Y, we will prove that $f$ is an affine isometry when the mapping satisfies the weaker assumptions that preserves unit distance, $n$-colinear and 2-colinear on same-order.

  • Selection of the most informative molecular descriptors from the original data set is a key step for development of quantitative structure activity/property relationship models. Recently, mutual information (MI) has gained increasing attention in feature selection problems. This paper presents an effective mutual information-based feature selection approach, named mutual information maximization by replacing collinear variables (MIMRCV), for nonlinear quantitative structure-property relationship models. The proposed variable selection method was applied to three different QSPR datasets, soil degradation half-life of 47 organophosphorus pesticides, GC-MS retention times of 85 volatile organic compounds, and water-to-micellar cetyltrimethylammonium bromide partition coefficients of 62 organic compounds. The obtained results revealed that using MIMRCV as feature selection method improves the predictive quality of the developed models compared to conventional MI based variable selection algorithms.

  • The purpose of the paper is to study of Para-Kenmotsu metric as a 𝜂-Ricci soliton. The paper is organized as follows: • If an 𝜂-Einstein para-Kenmotsu metric represents an 𝜂-Ricci soliton with flow vector field V, then it is Einstein with constant scalar curvature r = -2n(2n + 1). • If a para-Kenmotsu metric g represents an 𝜂-Ricci soliton with the flow vector field V being an infinitesimal paracontact transformation, then V is strict and the manifold is an Einstein manifold with constant scalar curvature r = -2n(2n + 1). • If a para-Kenmotsu metric g represents an 𝜂-Ricci soliton with non-zero flow vector field V being collinear with 𝜉, then the manifold is an Einstein manifold with constant scalar curvature r = -2n(2n + 1). Finally, we cited few examples to illustrate the results obtained.

  • This paper presents machine vision technique with a camera modeling that accounts for major sources of camera distortion, namely, radial, decentering, and thin prism distortion. Radial distortion causes an inward or outward displacement of a given image point from its ideal location. Actual optical systems are subject to varios degrees of decentering, that is,the optical centers of lens elements are not strictly collinear. Thin prism distortion arises form imperfection in lens design and manufacturing as well as camera assembly. It is our purpose to develop the vision system for the pattern recognition and the automatic test of and to apply the line of part manufacturing.

  • Molecular genetic techniques can now be applied to the development of advanced plant genotypes, either through genetic transformation or genomic approaches which allow researchers to transfer specific traits using molecular markers. In this paper, we discuss the use of these techniques towards understanding the genetics of blackleg resistance in Brassica. In a comparative mapping study between Arabidopsis thaliana and Brassica napus, 6 R-ESTs, 7 B. napus RFLP markers and a B. napus EST were located in a collinear region of N7 (B. napus) and chromosome 1 (A. thaliana). One of the A. thaliana R-ESTs and 4 of the B. napus RFLPs co-segregated and mapped to the LmRl locus for blackleg resistance. Introgression of blackleg resistance from wild relatives is also investigated with the possibility of accelerating the introgression process via marker assisted selection.

  • The aim of this article is to study the k-almost Ricci soliton and k-almost gradient Ricci soliton on contact metric manifold. First, we prove that if a compact K-contact metric is a k-almost gradient Ricci soliton, then it is isometric to a unit sphere $S^{2n+1}$. Next, we extend this result on a compact k-almost Ricci soliton when the flow vector field X is contact. Finally, we study some special types of k-almost Ricci solitons where the potential vector field X is point wise collinear with the Reeb vector field ${\xi}$ of the contact metric structure.

  • We developed a simple and real-time readout autocorrelator for several tens and sub-10fs pulses, based on the two photon absorption phenomena of a commercial GaP photodetector including a transimpedance amplifier. With a suitable gain adjustment, we demonstrated that the interferometric autocorrelation for sub-nJ pulses delivered as a high output voltage as to resolve all fringes in an autocorrelation trace with features of low noise and a low offset voltage. By fitting the measured quadratic power dependence of output voltages, we obtained the quantum efficiency of TPA for the GaP detector comparable with those of a GaAsP diode and an SHG with a thin BBO crystal. The autocorrelator of a TPA based GaP photodetector is highly suitable for sensitively measuring a few cycle pulses with a broad spectral distribution from 600 nm to 1100 nm.

  • For a foliation 𝓕 of degree r over ℙ2, we can regard it as a maximal invertible sheaf N𝓕 of Ω2, which is represented by a section s ∈ H0(Ω2 (r+2)). The singular locus Sing𝓕 of 𝓕 is the zero dimensional subscheme Z(s) of ℙ2 defined by s. Campillo and Olivares have given some characterizations of the singular locus by using some cohomology groups. In this paper, we will give some different characterizations. For example, the singular locus of a foliation over ℙ2 can be characterized as the residual subscheme of r collinear points in a complete intersection of two curves of degree r + 1.

  • Effects of direct multiple quantum excitations in vibrational energy transfer were investigated. Vibrational transition probabilities for 0${\rightarrow}$2, 0${\rightarrow}$3, and 0${\rightarrow}$4 excitations were explicitly formulated including both direct 0→n excitations and stepwise single quantum processes. For the formulation the perturbing force was derived from the exponential potential including terms up to fourth order in the vibrational amplitude. The head-on collinear collision model between a harmonic oscillator and an incident particle was employed, and the formulation was based on the semiclassical approximation. Numerical results were obtained for five different collision systems (Ar${\cdots}$O-N, He${\cdots}$H-H, He${\cdots}$H-Cl, 5${\cdots}$1-2, 2${\cdots}$12-12). Comparison between the present results and those obtained using the linearized interaction potential showed that the overall effect of including the direct multiple quantum transition is to decrease the probabilities at low collision energies and to increase them at high energies. The present results were found to be significantly different from those obtained using the linearized potential for collision systems He${\cdots}$H-H, He${\cdots}$H-Cl, and 5${\cdots}$1-2. For systems Ar${\cdots}$O-N and 2${\cdots}$12-12 the differences were negligible.
