연구 결과, 음향학적 측정치 중 MTD의 CSID(cepstral spectral index of dysphonia)는 대조군보다 높았으며, CPP(cepstral peak prominence), CPP_Fo 값이 대조군보다 유의하게 낮았다.
The Musculoskeletal Disease has been ignored or turned away due to the difficulty of diagnosis and the vagueness of judgement up to now. Contrary to other diseases, there were many cases where the character of the Musculoskeletal Disease wasn't revealed through the objective inspection. And that's because the Musculoskeletal Disease appears for the most part due to muscular defect so it is impossible to diagnose the muscle by X-ray diagnosing the bone and it is also impossible to diagnose the fine damage of the muscle or tendon even by advanced device like MRI. As the nervous blood vessels or acupunctures pass through or are next to the muscle, the tension of the muscle put pressure on these so can become the direct or indirect causes of various kinds of pains or intern diseases. But in spite of that, for lack of proper equipment diagnosing the state of the muscle(Shortened.. Relaxed... or Hardened...) the muscle has been disregarded or neglected intentionally or unintentionally. While many people think themselves to be a muscular expert, if they don't see the shape of the muscle, that is just like blind treatment. But as now the equipment diagnosing the state of the muscle is developed, it seems that this problem can be settled. It was attempted in this study that the muscle or skeleton of the Musculoskeletal disease patients was diagno the treatment order and method were decided by a questionnaire survey and simple inspection, and the Musculoskeletal correction exercise using the muscle management and sling system made them escape from the Musculoskeletal disease, turning their muscle into more flexible and stronger muscle. As a result notwithstanding the limited treatment period '12 times', the improvement rate was as high as 74%, which showed that the muscle management and Musculoskeletal correction exercise had a great effect on the symptom improvement of the patients. If the treatment times had increased, the improvement rate also would have increased more.
Sabaeksan and Sabaeksangagaryureuk, a traditional prescription, has been used in Korea for many centuries as a treatment for chronic respiratory disease. The purpose of the present study was to determine the effect of Sabaeksan and Sabaeksangagaryureuk on acetylcholine-induced tracheal smooth muscle contraction in guinea pigs and norepinephrine-induced vascular smooth muscle contraction in pigs. Guinea pig (500g, female) were killed by CO2 exposure and a segment (8-10mm) of the thoracic trachea from each guinea pig and renal artery from each pig were cut into equal segments and mounted 'in pairs' in a tissue bath. Contractile force was measured with force displacement transducers under 0.5g loading tension. The dose of acetylcholine (Ach) and norepinephrine (NE) which evoked 50% of maximal response ($ED_{50}$) was obtained from cumulative dose response curves for acetylcholine (10-7-10-4M) and norepinephrine (10-7-10-4M). Contractions of tracheal smooth muscle evoked by Ach ($ED_{50}$) were inhibited significantly by Sabaeksan and Sabaeksangagaryureuk. Propranolol (10-7M) slightly but significantly attenuated the inhibitory effects of Sabaeksan and Sabaeksangagaryureuk. Indomethacin and methylene blue (10-7M) did not significantly alter the inhibitory effect of Sabaeksan and Sabaeksanga-garyureuk. Contractions of vascular smooth muscle evoked by NE (NE50) were inhibited significantly by Sabaeksan and Sabaeksangagaryureuk. Propranolol (10-7M) slightly but significantly attenuated the inhibitory effects of Sabaeksan and Sabaeksangagaryureuk. Indomethacin and methylene blue (10-7M) did not significantly alter the inhibitory effect of Sabaeksan and Sabaeksangagaryureuk. These results indicate that Sabaeksan and Sabaeksangagaryureuk can relax acetylcholine-induced contraction of guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle, and norepinephrine-induced contraction of pig vascular smooth muscle that this inhibition involves, in part, the relation of adrenergic receptor.
The purpose of the present study is to determine the effect of Jakyakgamchotang on histamine or acetylcholine induced tracheal smooth muscle contraction in rats and guinea pigs. Guinea pig(500g, male) and Sprague Dawley rats(250g, male) were killed by $CO_2$ exposure and a segment (4-5mm) of the thoracic trachea from each rat and guinea pig was cut into equal segments and mounted 'in pairs' in a tissue bath. Contractile force was measured with force displacement transducers under 0.5g loading tension. The dose of histamine(His) which evoked 50% of maximal response($ED_{50}$) was obtained from cumulative dose response curves for histamine($10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-4}M$). Contractions evoked by His($ED_{50}$) were inhibited significantly by Jakyakgamchotang. In guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of histamine induced contraction was 90.8% (p〈0.001) after $100{\mu}l/ml$ Jakyakgamchotang. In rat tracheal smooth muscle, the mean percent inhibition of acetylcholine induced contraction was 22.1% (p〈0.05) after $100{\mu}l/ml$ Jakyakgamchotang. Propranolol indomethacin and methylene blue($10^{-7}M$) slightly but significantly attenuated the inhibitory effects of Jakyakgamchotang. These results indicate that Jakyakgamchotang can relax histamine or acetylcholine induced contraction of guinea pig and rat tracheal smooth muscle.
The present experiment was carried out to elucidate interrelation between the vestibular canals and the extraocular oblique muscles. In urethane anesthetized rabbits, excitatory or inhibitory effect of the canal was produced by three different methods; selective electrical stimulation of the ampullary nerve, bidirectional (ampullofugal or ampullopetal) lymphatic fluid flow, and rapid freezing of the canal. Changes of isometric tension as well as electro-myographic activity of the oblique muscles were recorded in the ipsilateral and contralateral eyes, by means of a polygraphic recorder, and the following results were obtained. 1) Electrical stimulation of a unilateral vertical or horizontal nerve caused contraction of superior oblique muscle and relaxation of inferior oblique muscle in the ipsilateral eye, and contraction of inferior oblique muscle and relaxation of superior oblique muscle in the contralateral eye. 2) Ampullofugal flow in a vertical canal and ampullopetal flow in a horizontal canal caused the oblique muscle responses which were identical to those responses produced by the electrical stimulation of the same canal nerve. 3) Rapid freezing of a vertical canal elicited the oblique muscle responses which were opposite to those caused by electrical stimulation of the same canal nerve. From the above experimental results, functional interrelation between the individual vestibular canal and bilateral extraocular oblique muscles were better elucidated. When these results were compared to those reported by previous investigators (Utzumi, Suzuki et al.), some important discrepancies were found between them. We ascribed such discrepancies to experimental errors of the previous investigators, since their results reflected theoretical contradictions in terms of vestibular eye movements.
A 2-year-old male, 3 kg body weight Japanese Chin was injured in the automobile accident three months ago. The dog became antebrachiocarpal joint instability, and performed pancarpal arthrodesis using 3 K-wires in localanimal hospital. But, the result was failure. Therefore the dog was referred to Chonbuk Animal Medical Center, Chonbuk National University. In physical examination, right carpal joint instability, knuckling sign and pain were evident. In radiography, sclerosis was observed on the 4th carpal bone. Complete blood count (CBC), serum chemistry and urinalysis finding were within reference ranges. Pancarpal arthrodesis was re-performed using 7-hole plate. However, mild skin and muscle defects was appeared by skin tension of extremity. We expected that granulation would fill the defect, but inflammation was continued on the lesions for 3 days. So, operation which is filling it was done by using the muscle flap and tubed skin flap. The donor muscles were flexor carpi radialis and superficial digital flexor muscles. After 7 days, the muscle flap was survived, but tubed skin flap was necrosed. After 20 days, the skin defect was substituted with granulation tissues. The flexor carpi radialis muscle and superficial digital flexor muscle transposition can be a useful procedure for reconstructing soft tissue defects in the carpal and metacarpal areas.
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of forward head posture on the flexion-relaxation ratio (FRR) and muscle activity during sustained neck flexion and to investigate the correlation between craniovertebral angle and FRR. Methods: Nineteen subjects participated in this study and were allocated to a forward head posture (FHP) group or a non-forward head posture (NFHP) group. Craniovertebral angle (CVA) and FRR were measured in all subjects, and all participants performed a standardized cervical flexion-extension movement in two phases: Phase I, sustained cervical full flexion for 5s; and Phase II, cervical extension with the return to the starting position for 5s. The value of CVA has calculated three times, and the value of FRR was measured three times in order to obtain the mean value. Results: FRR values in the FHP and NFHP group were significantly different (p<0.05). Phase I was significantly different, but the Phase II was not significantly different between the FHP and NFHP group (p>0.05). There was a significant correlation between the muscle activity of Phase I and CVA (p<0.05). However, FRR and the muscle activity of the Phase II were not a significant correlation with the CVA (p>0.05). Conclusion: FHP increases the muscle activity of the cervical erector spinae during sustained neck flexion and reduces FRR, which can cause fatigue in the cervical erector spinae. In addition, for those with a smaller CVA, muscle activity of the cervical erector spinae is increased during sustained neck flexion, which can increase neck muscle tension.
The purpose of this review was to examine the clinical characteristics of patients who had a diagnosis of Myofascial Pain Syndrome(MPS). Myofascial pain is a painful condition of skeletal muscle characterized by the presence of one or more trigger points. A trigger point(TrP) is a focus of hyperirritability in a tissues. Of the patients with MPS, 21(44.7 %) were male and 26(55.3 %) were female. The mean duration of MPS was 9.6 months for males and 11.3 months for females. Trigger points with associated referred patterns of pain were found in muscles of the post neck(trapezius, infrasupinatus) and in quadratus lumborum muscle. Patients reported increased fatigue(87.2 %), tingling sensation(66.0 %), numbness(66.0 %), tension(55.3 %), anxiety(44.7 %), headache (59.6 %), pilomotor activation(59.6 %).
Nowadays, many people have a lot of time on chair in their life. If the sitting posture is not correct, there is some trouble with the waist. And if the sitting posture goes on long time at a slant, it sometimes causes the hurts of waist or the deformded spinal column. A crouched posture is an obstacle to breath and it give rise to drowsiness because of the lack of oxygen. The sitting posture is a habit so that people can't feel it oneself and look over some kind of risks. The evaluation of the sitting posture is analyzed by measuring EMG of spinal both side of spinal-bones. In this paper, we can evaluate a right the sitting posture by analyzing the increase of the tention of muscle in one or the other side of muscles when the posture inclines one side and describes the usefulness of the signal of EMG to evaluate the influence of the sitting posture on waist.
