크리깅 모델을 이용한 곱분해 기법에서 정확하고 강건한 통계적 모멘트 계산을 위한 전역모델의 비교 분석 (Comparison of global models for calculation of accurate and robust statistical moments in MD method based Kriging metamodel)

  • Moment-based reliability analysis is the method to calculate reliability using Pearson System with first-four raw moments obtained from simulation model. But it is too expensive to calculate first four moments from complicate simulation model. To overcome this drawback the MD(multiplicative decomposition) method which approximates simulation model to kriging metamodel and calculates first four raw moments explicitly with multiplicative decomposition techniques. In general, kriging metamodel is an interpolation model that is decomposed of global model and local model. The global model, in general, can be used as the constant global model, the 1st order global model, or the 2nd order global model. In this paper, the influences of global models on the accuracy and robustness of raw moments are examined and compared. Finally, we suggest the best global model which can provide exact and robust raw moments using MD method.

초등학교 6학년 학생들의 비례 추론 능력 분석 -'비교' 상황을 중심으로- (An Analysis on the Proportional Reasoning Understanding of 6th Graders of Elementary School -focusing to 'comparison' situations-)

  • 2009 개정 교육과정에서 수학적 과정은 수학적 추론, 수학적 문제 해결, 수학적 의사소통의 형태로 강조되고 있으며, 수학적 추론의 한 형태인 비례 추론은 비와 비율 개념과 관련된 추론이다. 비례 추론은 초등학교 수학에서 규칙성 영역의 핵심이면서 중등수학에서 학습하는 함수 개념의 기본이 된다. 본 연구는 2007 개정과 2009 개정 교육과정 사이에 놓인 초등학교 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 비례와 관련된 형식적인 알고리즘을 배우기 전 단계에서 비례 추론의 특징과 유형을 분석해봄으로써 비례 추론을 사용하는 학생들의 문제해결전략과 오류를 살펴본다. 이를 위해 먼저 비례 추론 문항을 개발하고, 초등학교 6학년 학생들이 비와 비율을 학습하기 전후에 비례 추론 관련 문제를 어떻게 해결하고 또 어떠한 오류가 나타나는지를 분석한다. 그 결과 초등학교 6학년 학생들은 문제의 조건과 유형에 따라 다양한 비례 추론 전략을 활용한다. 대부분의 학생들은 곱셈적 추론 수준에 있으며, 비례 추론 검사에서 가장 많이 나타난 전략으로는 분수 전략과 간비교, 내비교 전략 등이었다. 그러나 학생들은 상대적인 비교를 필요로 하는 문제의 경우 문제의 이해 단계에서부터 어려움을 나타냈다. 따라서 절대적 상대적 변화를 비교하는 수준에 이를 수 있도록 다양한 형태의 비례 추론 문항 개발이 요구되며, 이와 함께 비례 추론 상황을 포함하여 지도할 수 있는 교수 방안의 개발이 요구된다.

  • Quality measures play an important role in the field of image processing. Such measures are commonly used to assess the performance of different algorithms that are designed to perform a specific image processing task. In this paper we propose two novel measures for image quality assessment based on the notion of correlation between fuzzy sets. Two different definitions fur the correlation between fuzzy sets have been used. In order to calculate the proposed quality measures two approaches were evaluated, one with direct application of the measures to the image′s pixels and the other using the fuzzy set corresponding to the normalized histogram of the image. A comparative study of the proposed measures is performed by investigating their behavior using images with different types of distortions, such as impulsive "salt at pepper" noise, additive white Gaussian noise, multiplicative speckle noise, blurring, gamma distortion, and JPEG compression.

  • This paper estimates the probability of image fusion to improve accuracy of NDVl analysis. NDVI has been utilized in monitoring extensive forest or forest fire, and image fusion is a method to improve the resolution of multi-spectra image same resolution as high resolution panchromatic image. In this paper wavelet, PCA, IHS, Brovey and multiplicative method was applied to improve spatial resolution of SPOT-4 satellite image. NDVI images were generated from original and fused images and the correlation coefficient of fused and original image was calculated. The results of their comparison, PCA method showed best performance.

토마토 반사광과 투과광 스펙트럼 분석에 의한 경도 예측 성능 비교 (Comparison of Performance of Models to Predict Hardness of Tomato using Spectroscopic Data of Reflectance and Transmittance)

  • This study was carried out to find a useful method to predict hardness of tomato using optical spectrum data. Optical spectrum of reflectance and transmittance data were collected processed by 9 kind of preprocessing methods-normalizations of mean, maximum and range, SNV (standard normal variate), MSC (multiplicative scatter correction), the first derivative and second derivative of Savitzky-Golay and Norris-Gap. With the preprocessed and non-processed original spectrum data, prediction models of hardness of tomato were developed using analytical tools of PLS (partial least squares) and MLR (multiple linear regression) and tested for their validation. The test of validation resulted that the analytical tools of PLS and MLR output similar performances while the transmittance spectra showed much better result than the reflectance spectra.

ARIMA 모형과 인공신경망모형의 BOD예측력 비교 (Comparison of the BOD Forecasting Ability of the ARIMA model and the Artificial Neural Network Model)

  • In this paper, the water quality forecast was performed on the BOD of the Chungju Dam using the ARIMA model, which is a nonlinear statistics model, and the artificial neural network model. The monthly data of water quality were collected from 1991 to 2000. The most appropriate ARIMA model for Chungju dam was found to be the multiplicative seasonal ARIMA(1,0,1)(1,0,1)$_{12}$, model. While the artificial neural network model, which is used relatively often in recent days, forecasts new data by the strength of a learned matrix like human neurons. The BOD values were forecasted using the back-propagation algorithm of multi-layer perceptrons in this paper. Artificial neural network model was com- posed of two hidden layers and the node number of each hidden layer was designed fifteen. It was demonstrated that the ARIMA model was more appropriate in terms of changes around the overall average, but the artificial neural net-work model was more appropriate in terms of reflecting the minimum and the maximum values.s.

Edge Preserving Speckle Reduction of Ultrasound Image with Morphological Adaptive Median Filtering

  • Speckle noise reduction for ultrasound CT image using morphological adaptive median filtering based on edge preservation is presented in this paper. Speckle noise is multiplicative feature and causes ultrasound image to degrade widely from transducer. An input image is classified into edge region and homogeneous region in preprocessing. The speckle is reduced by morphological operation on the 2D gray scale by using convolution and correlation, and edges are preserved. The adaptive median is processed to reduce an impulse noise to preserve edges. As the result, MAM of the proposed method enhances the image to about 10% in comparison with Winner filter by Edge Preservation Index and PSNR, and 10% to only adaptive median filtering.

Elimination of Idle Tones by a 2-Bit Adaptive Sigma-Delta Modulation System

  • The operation of a first-order 2-bit adaptive sigma-delta modulation system is described and discussed in this paper. The system operation is based on the combination of both "memory" and "look-ahead" estimation in the employed step-size adaptation algorithm of the basic quantizer. In comparison to simple systems and other adaptive sigma-delta systems, computer simulation results show that these features of the described system are responsible for the high SNR values and the extended dynamic range achieved for AC signals as well as the noise power reduction of almost 10 dB and the complete elimination of the idle tones for DC signals. However, such an advantageous performance requires the least possible multiplicative error accumulation, and this cannot be achieved without analog circuits of the highest possible accuracy.

  • Three dimensional density distributions of impinging and eccentric flames have been investigated by digital speckle tomography. The flames have been ignited by a mixture of butane and air from a circular nozzle and impinged against a plate located at the upper side of the burner exit. For comparison with experimental data, computer synthesized phantoms of impinging and eccentric flames have been reconstructed by a developed three-dimensional multiplicative algebraic reconstruction technique (MART). The advanced reconstruction in the stagnation flow region involved the sharp change of the flow direction and pressure gradient has been developed using a cross-correlation method and new scanning technique for the speckle displacement.
