In this paper, we introduce a technique for 360-degree panoramic video streaming with multiple virtual cameras in real-time. The proposed technique consists of generating 360-degree panoramic video data by ORB feature point detection, texture transformation, panoramic video data compression, and RTSP-based video streaming transmission. Especially, the generating process of 360-degree panoramic video data and texture transformation are accelerated by CUDA for complex processing such as camera calibration, stitching, blending, encoding. Our experiment evaluated the frames per second (fps) of the transmitted 360-degree panoramic video. Experimental results verified that our technique takes at least 30fps at 4K output resolution, which indicates that it can both generates and transmits 360-degree panoramic video data in real time.

The DVR system supports multiple cameras and should be able to receive images at 30 frames per channel in real time. Thus, The system is using Full-HD-grade Multiplexer and Hardware compression codec. In this paper, Describing the design and implementation for the 4-channel Full-HD-grade PC-based DVR using FPGA and GPU inside CPU without Multiplexer and Hardware codec. The existing DVR system for Full-HD-grade has drawbacks to acquire images of about only 20 frames per channel in real time. The system to acquire images of multiple channel in real time was designed using FPGA. The software for the system was implemented using Intel Media SDK. At the result of performance evaluation, It was satisfied all for the required conditions. The practicality of the system was confirmed as implementation the system without using hardware compression.

An arrow produced by a manufacturing process is evaluated using the archer's paradox and the intensity of the impact point. The accuracy rate in particular is changed by the arrow's vibrational movement, which is called the archer's paradox. The archer's paradox occurs not only in the right, left, upward, and downward directions, but in all directions. The optimized value of the archer's paradox has not been studied yet. This paper proposes to measure the archer's paradox to determine its optimized value. Measuring the archer's paradox using a high-speed camera is expensive, and it is difficult to translate the result to a numerical value. However, the device for measuring the archer's paradox proposed in this paper is inexpensive, and the results are easy to convert to a numerical value. Therefore, this device is more suitable for optimization of the archer's paradox than a high-speed camera. In this paper, we propose to measure the size of the paradox using multiple frames, which can measure the position of an arrow moving at a speed of 300km/h to within millimeters. We calculate the size of the paradox experimentally using the measured location in each frame. This value is not an approximate value, but an accurate numerical value.
Generally, the AC electrified railway systems have the power quality problems that are induced from the harmonic currents and the reactive power. This paper presents a single-phase hybrid active filter adopting a SRF(synchronous-reference-frame) control for improving power quality in the AC electrified railway systems. The single-phase hybrid active filter can compensate the harmonic currents and the reactive power through the proposed SRF control algorithm. The proposed control algorithm can extract the third and fifth harmonics through the MSRF(multiple-synchronous-reference-frames) which is used to apply the three-phase systems. Therefore, the hybrid active filter can compensates only the high-frequency harmonic currents whereas the passive filter compensates the low-frequency harmonic currents. Also, the proposed SRF control algorithm can compensate the reactive power by the closed-loop control. The Validity and the effectiveness of the proposed SRF control method for the hybrid active filter are illustrated through the simulation results.

This paper presents a 3D face modeling method using a CCD camera and a projector (LCD projector or Slide projector). The camera faces the human face and the projector casts white stripe patterns on the human face. The 3D shape of the face is extracted from spatial and temporal locations of the white stripe patterns on a series of image frames. The proposed method employs region segmentation and multi-beam techniques for efficient 3D modeling of hair region and faster 3D scanning respectively. In the proposed method, each image is segmented into face, hair, and shadow regions, which are independently processed to obtain the optimum results for each region. The multi-beam method, which uses a number of equally spaced stripe patterns, reduces the total number of image frames and consequently the overall data acquisition time. Light beam calibration is adopted for efficient light plane measurement, which is not influenced by the direction (vertical or horizontal) of the stripe patterns. Experimental results show that the proposed method provides a favorable 3D face modeling results, including the hair region.

This paper presents experimental studies on reinforced concrete moment resisting frames that have engineered cementitious composite (ECC) in plastic hinge length (PHL) of beam/column members and beam-column joints. A two-story frame structure reduced by a 1:3 scale was further tested through a shake-table (seismic simulator) using multiple levels of simulated earthquake motions. One model conformed to all the ACI-318 requirements for IMRF, whereas the second model used lower-strength concrete in the beam/column members outside PHL. The acceleration time history of the 1994 Northridge earthquake was selected and scaled to multiple levels for shake-table testing. This study reports the observed damage mechanism, lateral strength-displacement capacity curve, and the computed response parameters for each model. The tests verified that nonlinearity remained confined to beam/column ends, i.e., member joint interface. Calculated response modification factors were 11.6 and 9.6 for the code-conforming and concrete strength deficient models. Results show that the RC-ECC frame's performance in design-based and maximum considered earthquakes; without exceeding maximum permissible drift under design-base earthquake motions and not triggering any unstable mode of damage/failure under maximum considered earthquakes. This research also indicates that the introduction of ECC in PHL of the beam/column members' detailing may be relaxed for the IMRF structures.

Flexible frames on their own offer little resistance to lateral forces, resulting often in large deflections and rotations at the joints. On the other hand, walls subjected to lateral loads fail mainly in shear at relatively small displacements. Therefore, when the nonductile frames and wall act together, the combined action of the composite system differs significantly from that of the frame or wall alone. The objective of the study is to evaluate seismic response of infill walls with notched midsection. Reinforcement detail of wall was main variable in the experiment. Also SHCC was used in order to prevent damage concentration into notched midsection of walls. Test results, SHCC infill walls show the multiple crack patterns as expected. However, PIW-ND specimen exhibits less story drift, stiffness and energy dissipation capacity than those of PIW-NC specimen.
This paper presents optimization of a long-span portal steel frame under dynamic wind loads using a surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithm. Long-span portal steel frames are often used in low-rise industrial and commercial buildings. The structure needs be able to resist the wind loads, and at the same time it should be as light as possible in order to be cost-effective. In this work, numerical model of a portal steel frame is constructed using structural analysis program (SAP2000), with the web-heights at five locations of I-sections of the columns and rafters as the decision variables. In order to evaluate the performance of a given design under dynamic wind loading, the equivalent static wind load (ESWL) is obtained from a database of wind pressures measured in wind tunnel tests. A modified formulation of the problem compared to the one available in the literature is also presented, considering additional design constraints for practicality. Evolutionary algorithms (EA) are often used to solve such non-linear, black-box problems, but when each design evaluation is computationally expensive (e.g., in this case a SAP2000 simulation), the time taken for optimization using EAs becomes untenable. To overcome this challenge, we employ a surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithm (SAEA) to expedite the convergence towards the optimum design. The presented SAEA uses multiple spatially distributed surrogate models to approximate the simulations more accurately in lieu of commonly used single global surrogate models. Through rigorous numerical experiments, improvements in results and time savings obtained using SAEA over EA are demonstrated.

The G-PON is an efficient solution to implement the FTTH and have GEM frame to accomodate various protocols like Ethernet frames, IP packets, and TDM signals. Above all, the Ethernet is one of the most widely used 2nd layer protocol in the campus, the subscriber access, and the carrier service. So G-PON system has to provide an Ethernet interface with top priority. In this paper, we implement a gigabit Ethernet adapter based on Ethernet over GEM in the ITU-T G.984.3 to accommodate Ethernet protocol in the G-PON TC chip. The adapter maps each Ethernet frame to a single or multiple GEM frames and has several functions including generation of the GEM header, encapsulation of frames and the SAR. In particular, the adapter have converter (LUT) MAC address to port-ID which is a key to identify logical connections though it is not defined in specification but important. We implement the adapter with a FPGA and verify the functions of segmentation and reassembling, MAC address learning, and throughput with the logic analyzer and the Ethernet analyzer.

How to recover from the multiple 2D images into 3D object has been widely studied in the field of computer vision. In order to improve the accuracy of the recovered 3D shape, it is more important that noise must be minimized and the number of image frames must be guaranteed. However, potential noise is implied when tracking feature points. And the number of image frames which is consisted of an observation matrix usually decrease because of tracking failure, occlusions, or low image resolution, and so on. Therefore, it is obviously essential that the number of image frames must be secured by recovering the missing feature points under noise. Thus, we propose the analytic approach which can control directly the error distance and orientation of missing feature point by the geometrical properties under noise distribution. The superiority of proposed method is demonstrated through experimental results for synthetic and real object.
