  • Differential spatial modulation uses the antenna index to transmit information, which improves the spectral efficiency, and completely bypasses any channel side information in the recommended setting. A generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation based on distributed multiple turbo code is put forward and its performances in Rayleigh fading channels is analyzed. The generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is a coded-cooperation communication scheme, in which we proposed a new joint parallel iterative decoding method. Moreover, the code matched interleaver is considered to be the best choice for the generalized multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation schemes, which is the key factor of turbo code. Monte Carlo simulated results show that the proposed cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is better than the corresponding non-cooperative scheme over Rayleigh fading channels in multiple input and output communication system under the same conditions. In addition, the simulation results show that the code matched interleaver scheme gets a better diversity gain as compared to the random interleaver.

  • In this paper, we offer the secrecy outage probability of the amplify-and-forward (AF) transmission, which consists of one source, one destination, one relay, and one passive eavesdropper. Particularly, we consider that the relay is equipped with multiple antennas while other terminals is utilized with single antenna and apply diversity techniques (for both the reception and the transmission) at the relay to achieve gains in a secrecy outage performance. Additionally, we analyze the exact secrecy outage probability of the proposed systems in a one-integral form. Finally, some numerical examples are given to verify our provided analytical results for different system conditions.

  • MC-DS-CDMA is technique where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With this technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of PSAM MC-DS-CDMA system with the application of STBC antenna diversity is analyzed. The BER performance of this system over multipath fading environment is evaluated, considering the channel estimation ernr, carrier frequency offset, and the nonlinear high power amplifier.

  • A new signal model suitable for indoor wireless environments with large angle spread is proposed to improve the performance of indoor wireless communication systems. Antenna array techniques adopted for this model are discussed. It is based on the far-field signal assumption. The optimal beamforming weight vector is obtained by applying the antenna algorithm based on the maximum signal to interference noise ratio criterion to the model. The proposed model is verified using a mathematical analysis and computer simulations.

  • The outage probability (OP) performance of multiple-relay-based incremental hybrid decode-amplify-forward (IHDAF) relaying mobile-to-mobile (M2M) networks with transmit antenna selection (TAS) over N-Nakagami fading channels is investigated in this paper. The closed-form expressions for approximate OP of the optimal and suboptimal TAS schemes are derived. The power allocation problem is formulated for performance optimization. Then the OP performance under different conditions is evaluated through numerical simulations to verify the analysis. The simulation results showed that optimal TAS scheme has a better OP performance than suboptimal TAS scheme; the power-allocation parameter has an important influence on the OP performance.

  • Several studies made for wireless mesh networks aim to optimize the capacity for wireless networks. Aside from protocol improvements, researches were also done on the physical layer particularly on modulation techniques and antenna efficiency schemes. This paper is concerned with the capacity improvements derived from using spatial diversity with smart adaptive array antennas. The use of spatial diversity, which has been widely proposed for use in cellular networks in order to lessen frequency re-use, can be used in mesh networks both to minimize co-channel interference (CCI) and enable multiple transmissions. This paper aims to study the capacity region and bounds in using smart antennas for single-channel multi-radio systems in relation to the number of spatial diversity or sectors as defined by the beam angle $\beta$.

  • In this letter, we propose an efficient training sequence structure for adaptive linear multiuser detectors in space-time block coded multiuser systems, by exploiting a particular property of the minimum mean square error multiuser detectors used in these systems. The proposed structure wastes less overall system capacity than the straightforward training structure, without any corresponding loss of performance, as confirmed by the simulation results.

  • Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems assisted by multi-relays with single antenna are considered. Signal transmission consists of two hops. In the first hop, the source node broadcasts the vector symbols to all relays, then all relays forward the received signals multiplied by each power gain to the destination simultaneously. Unlike the case of full cooperation between relays such as single relay with multiple antennas, in our case there is no closed form solution for optimal relay power gain with respect to minimum mean square error (MMSE). Thus we propose an alternative approach in which we use an approximation of the cost function based on rank-one matrix decomposition. As a cost function, we choose the trace of MSE matrix. We give several simulation results to validate that our proposed method obtains a negligible performance loss compared to optimal solution obtained by exhaustive search.

  • In this letter, we derive a tight closed-form formula for an ergodic capacity of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) for the application of wireless communications. The derived expression is a simple closed-form formula to determine the ergodic capacity of MIMO systems. Assuming the channels are independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) Rayleigh flat-fading between antenna pairs, the ergodic capacity can be expressed in a closed form as the finite sum of exponential integrals.

  • The transmit diversity as well as beamforming can increase the performance of wireless communication systems. It is well known that the requirement for the spacing between the neighboring antennas in transmit diversity and beamforming is contradictive to each other. Therefore it is necessary to find the optimum configuration of multiple antennas for getting the maximum performance under the condition that the total number of antennas at transmitter site and the total power of transmitter are fixed. In this paper, the procedure for finding the optimum configuration of multiple antennas was derived through searching the maximum capacity and BER in the combined system with the transmit diversity (Tx diversity) and beamforming.
