On the Optimal Vehicle Routing of City-Wide PRT based on Synchronization (동기화 기반 City-Wide PRT의 최적경로설정 방안 연구)

  • Recently, there are environmental issues for sustainable transportation system to pursue the energy-efficient and environment-friendly public urban transit. These transportation system needs to offer demand-oriented high-quality service being on the same level with cab service for urban space. PRT(Personal Rapid Transit), small track-guided vehicle, is repeatedly mentioned as a possible alternative for the new urban public transportion system, but but there are not many researches on the operational optimal routing for PRT network. In this paper, the concept of PRT and general optimal routing methods are reviewed. And we suggest the optimal routing method for city-wide PRT network with multi-vehicles and stations, junctions and directional arcs. Futher research directions for PRT routing are presented.

  • An adaptive control scheme has been recognized as an effective approach for a robot manipulator to track a desired trajectory in spite of the presence of nonliearity and parameter uncertainty in robot dynamics model. In this paper, an adaptive control scheme for a robot manipulator is proposed to design robust controller using model reference adaptive control technique and hyperstability theory but it does away with] assumption that the process is characterized by a linear model remaining time invariant during the adaptation process. The performance of controller is demonstrated by the simulation about position and speed control of a six-link manipulator with disturbance and payload variation.

Dynamic Analysis of Asphalt Concrete Pavement Structure

  • A new solution for the dynamic analysis of as asphalt concrete pavements under moving loads has been developed. The asphalt concrete pavement can be modeled in elastic or viscoelastic medium of multi-layered structure. The subgrade can be modeled as either a rigid base or a semi-infinite halfspace. The loads may be constant or arbitrary circular loads into one direction. The method utilizes the Complex Response Method of transient analysis with a continuum solution in the horizontal direction and a finite-element solution in the vertical direction. This proposed method incorporates such important factors as wave propagation, inertia and damping effects of the medium as well as frequency-dependent asphalt concrete properties. The proposed method has been validted with the full-scale field truck test, which was conducted on instrumented asphalt concrete section on a test track at PACCAR Technical Center in Mount Vernon, Washington. Comparison with field strain data from full-scale pavement tests has shown excellent agreement.   • This paper describes a monitoring system for fish farm formation effect based on personal computer by using an image processing technique. This method is based on image processing technique incorporating concept of window and threshold processing to track the target object and to distinguish it from background. The image processing program runs in the veal time so that all program modules are able to process multi-task. The effectiveness is evaluated through the comparative study on the motion of lantern net for the scallop culturing by wave action in an experimental wave tank.

  • In this study, we optimized the shape of the surface aerator that will be installed in a biological reactor using the response surface method. Response surfaces of mass flow rate, impeller torque, mass flow rate per impeller torque are generated and used to track the optimum shape of the aerator. MOGA(Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm)method is adopted to find the optimum results. By increasing the mass flow rate per impeller torque, increase of oxygen supply efficiency to a reactor is anticipated. To verify the usability of the surface aerator, PIV measurements on flow fields inside a scale-downed biological reactor model are carried out.

  • This study presents a study on modified algorithm to operating train simulation of AT feeding systems. In this study equivalent impedance is constructed by $Z_c,\;Z_r,\;Z_f,\;Z_{cr},\;Z_{rf},\;Z_{fc}$. The train current flows through the all auto-transformer corresponding to track impedance. To calculate train voltage from analyzing the railway systems, the algorithm is based on the K. C. L, K. V. L, superposition and circuit separation method. Multi-train's voltages are determined by calculating the catenary voltage at each train's position and adding up these train's voltage drop. Case studies use a field operational data, show that the proposed method is easily applied.

  • This work presents an agenda-based approach to improve the robustness of the dialog manager by using dialog examples and n-best recognition hypotheses. This approach supports n-best hypotheses in the dialog manager and keeps track of the dialog state using a discourse interpretation algorithm with the agenda graph and focus stack. Given the agenda graph and n-best hypotheses, the system can predict the next system actions to maximize multi-level score functions. To evaluate the proposed method, a spoken dialog system for a building guidance robot was developed. Preliminary evaluation shows this approach would be effective to improve the robustness of example-based dialog modeling.

  • Recent technical advances, such as chromatin immunoprecipitation combined with DNA microarrays (ChIp-chip) and chromatin immunoprecipitation-sequencing (ChIP-seq), have generated large quantities of high-throughput data. Considering that epigenomic datasets are arranged over chromosomes, their analysis must account for spatial or temporal characteristics. In that sense, simple clustering or classification methodologies are inadequate for the analysis of multi-track ChIP-chip or ChIP-seq data. Approaches that are based on hidden Markov models (HMMs) can integrate dependencies between directly adjacent measurements in the genome. Here, we review three HMM-based studies that have contributed to epigenetic research, from a computational perspective. We also give a brief tutorial on HMM modelling-targeted at bioinformaticians who are new to the field.

The Design of Analog-to-Digital Converter using 12-bit Pipeline BiCMOS (12-bit 파이프라인 BiCMOS를 사용한 A/D 변환기의 설계)

  • There is an increasing interest in high-performance A/D(Analog-to-Digital) converters for use in integrated analog and digital mixed processing systems. Pipeline A/D converter architectures coupled with BiCMOS process technology have the potential for realizing monolithic high-speed and high-accuracy A/D converters. In this paper, the design of 12bit pipeline BiCMOS A/D converter presented. A BiCMOS operational amplifier and comparator suitable for use in the pipeline A/D converter. Test/simulation results of the circuit blocks and the converter system are presented. The main features is low distortion track-and-hold with 0-300MHz input bandwidth, and a proprietary 12bit multi-stage quantizer. Measured value is DNL=${\pm}$0.30LSB, INL=${\pm}$0.52LSB, SNR=66dBFS and SFDR=74dBc at Fin=24.5MHz. Also Fabricated on 0.8um BiCMOS process.
